Morning Ladies. Not been on here for a couple of days. Hope everyone is well.

6+5 today. Had to go to the Early Pregnancy Unit on Wednesday for a scan as I was concerned about some pain and they wanted to check all was in order as the pain was just on one side.

Thankfully it all looks ok. Saw baby and a lovely heartbeat.

BFP2020 · 21/08/2020 08:56

@MrsDash You have your positive story now too. Did it work first time?
This is my second I have a DD who is 5 in November it took us 2 years to conceive her but because I was still only 23 when we started trying I didn't go about any help.

@FoxtrotOscarPoppet What was your pain like? Thats great I bet you feel so much more relaxed after seeing a heartbeat. I've my early scan tuesday morning I am wishing away the next 4 days so I can hopefully see a heartbeat. x

MrsDash · 21/08/2020 09:04

@BFP2020 very true Smile yes it was our first round of ivf and, apart from covid delaying things, it went very smoothly so yes, definitely a positive story. We even have 3 good quality embryos frozen for future attempts. I’m 31 now so we’re very glad we decided to start trying when we did, otherwise it may not have been as smooth.
That’s interesting it took you a while last time too. My friend took 2 years to conceive each of her 2 children with no obvious cause. I think conception is very often complex but it’s very easy to only really hear from those who are fortunate to not have problems.

FoxtrotOscarPoppet · 21/08/2020 09:12

@BFP2020 it was a very sharp pain. I normally get bad pain when I ovulate and this was similar and in the same spot so they wanted to check it wasn’t an ectopic.

anth85 · 21/08/2020 09:50

hi everyone, my wife is pregnant and we have worked out a due date of April 12th. We had the early scan on Wednesday evening and everything looked as it should and we even saw the heartbeat.

My wife has PCOS so we are trying to stay grounded due to the risks of miscarriage being higher but our mothers talked her into going to look at prams yesterday afternoon. I met them after work and felt like a rabbit caught in headlights, I had no idea what I was looking at or what the pros/cons were. Usually what I do for other things I don't know about is watch youtube videos on the subject and join online forums to ask questions.

I know due to covid things are different but our local GP and midwifery service haven't been helpful. So far we've had a 4 minute phone call from the midwife most of which was taken up by her moaning the land line wasn't working (we haven't had a phone plugged into it for years), and scheduling another longer call for 10 weeks. No information about taking folic acid, nothing about the higher PCOS risks or taking metforim or even a blood test to confirm.

BeeMama2017 · 21/08/2020 11:07

Hi everyone! I’m pregnant, due 20th April (it’s a popular day apparently!). We actually live in Japan at the minute but I was part of a mumsnet group when I had my first and it was so valuable to have bunch of us all going through the same things so I’d love to join if you’ll have me!
How’s everyone feeling? I got my first random wave of nausea today so it’s starting to feel real...

Rotagilla · 21/08/2020 12:40

Hello ladies.....and welcome all new ones!
How are you all?
I had some bleeding the start of the week so had a scan yesterday...
Thankfully I saw a little heartbeat and he's well implanted...just measuring a week smaller than my dates ❤️

BFP2020 · 21/08/2020 16:31

@MrsDash Yes it was weird but i'm just hoping this bean sticks I'm 31 too.

@Rotagilla Oh thank god everything is ok did they just say it was probably implantation bleeding?

I'm 5+3 day and oh the nausea has come in full force felt like I was going to puke all day found it hard to eat but when i did it eased it a bit. Now its gone but I'm starving Smile Not complaining I know its a good sign xx

Rotagilla · 21/08/2020 18:07

@BFP2020 Thankyou ❤️ Yes they said he was burrowed in so well that was more than likely implantation...but also saw a blood vessel so may have been that. So worrying but definitely feeling relieved now 😊

I'm not sick but very very fussy...have just declined oh's pork belly bao buns because I don't like the look of the pork 😂😂

It must be so exciting being scanned. I think that's when it will become real to me.

I have pretty much given up jogging which has made me a bit sad. I was finding it more tiring than usual, then I found out I was pregnant. Between the exhaustion, heat and nausea I've basically given up and definitely feel worse for it. My sense of smell is insane and the boob soreness is driving me a bit mad too. Feel a bit meh at the moment to be honest, though I am generally sleeping better than normal so positives...

I really want to tell my boss because I know my not being at work will impact, but I want to be scanned first because I'm very aware it's still early days. Am 9 weeks on Sunday so I'm hoping I will hear from whoever it is that actually contacts you soon!

Lynz2020 · 22/08/2020 14:12

I'm due April 20th 2021, i'm coming into week 5. Been having some nausea and cramping and slight tender breasts but not much. I'm thinking about getting an early scan since my last ended 8wks+4. Don't want to have to wait until the 12 week like last time as it's so long. Supposed to have my midwife appointment next Friday so I might ask to see if they suggest I get seen early or if I have to pay private.

LeopardLover · 22/08/2020 18:15

@Rotagilla So glad your early scan went well and baby is strong and healthy! That must've been magical. :)

@FoxtrotOscarPoppet Great news the pain was nothing to worry about and baby is doing well!!

@anth85 Sorry your local services have been a bit rubbish so far, hopefully things will improve. Did your wife have her eye on any prams? I must admit I'm probably going to pick a stylish one (hopefully with good reviews) haha.

@BeeMama2017 Oh wow, it's so cool you're in Japan! Is the healthcare really good there? I actually had my first serious waves of nausea today - felt awful at the time but it was so nice to feel it. I've just been having cramping and bloating.

@Nichelette I'm finding just long walks more challenging than normal, so understand why you might have to give up jogging for a little bit. I'm only 5 weeks but really want a letter or something too!

@Lynz2020 A very popular date indeed! ;) I hope you get the opportunity for an early scan, I can understand why you'd be feeling anxious. I've booked one in for 8 weeks!

anth85 · 22/08/2020 18:53

@LeopardLover
she likes the silver cross pacific autograph ink.

We've always said we wouldn't spend a fortune on a pram and would rather get a second hand one to spend the rest of the money elsewhere, like a Florida fund. But she really liked this one and since it only came out last September there isn't any going second hand. She's found it for £895 for a bundle including a car seat so that isn't too bad, it's just not the car seat I would have picked.

OneStepOneStumble · 22/08/2020 18:59

I'm due 26th April and only 4w5days. Trying to be excited but currently freaking out as had a bit of spotting over the last few days 😩 first baby so no idea what to expect or what is normal!

Tryingforourmissingpiece · 22/08/2020 19:06

So exciting for those of you that have had scans or have them booked!
I phoned the doctors the other day and they’ve put me on a list for the midwife to call me at some point but probably not before week 8 🤷🏻‍♀️
I’m currently a little worried as I’ve had some pink discharge today and some pretty achy cramps 😔 This is after I got all excited because I had my first metallic taste in my mouth today 🙄 I’m hoping the cramps will pass, but I’m feeling a bit poo about it right now 💩

LeopardLover · 22/08/2020 19:07

@anth85 That's a good looking pram and they do appear to cost a fortune, so it's good it comes as a bundle! 😊

@OneStepOneStumble I really don't know what to expect either!! Seems spotting is quite common though. What colour was the blood?

OneStepOneStumble · 22/08/2020 19:16

@LeopardLover Brownish pinkish I'd say. Mostly just when wiping but had a bit in knickers after a walk (sorry tmi) no real pain along with I though, just bloating so I don't know what to think

Lynz2020 · 23/08/2020 08:03

Has anyone been getting cramping during the night? I've had 2 nights in a row where its woken me up but not painful just uncomfortable? Then in the morning I feel sick and my boobs hurt. I'll actually be 6 weeks on Monday

BuckleUp · 23/08/2020 08:10

@Lynz2020 my cramps woke me up this morning and I nearly got up to take a painkiller. Sometimes they feel very much like AF.. I'm 6+6 today

Lynz2020 · 23/08/2020 08:33

@BuckleUp is really annoying as I keep thinking something is wrong.

LeopardLover · 23/08/2020 08:40

@OneStepOneStumble From what I've read, that seems a common colour! Maybe call your local EPU for advice if you're still a bit concerned? Remember, plenty of women have spotting during healthy pregnancies. 😊

@Lynz2020 Pains often wake me up too!

@BuckleUp Are you still tracking BBT? I think I might quit now because I keep having bad sleep, then getting disappointed with a low reading - think it's playing on my mind a lot! My SIL just announced she's 12W which is amazing - we're looking forward to reaching this milestone too! X

Sals27 · 23/08/2020 11:08

No cramps through the night but I did get some really painful cramps yesterday in the supermarket and then carried on for a couol or hours. It was really worrying but think in hindsight it was stomach ache rather than pg related but everything is so worrying in this early stage.

I have started snoring again which is annoying! I don't snore usually but last pregnancy it was really bad (apparently) but literally as soon as I had given birth it stopped. Gutted it's started so early this time around as last time it wasn't until the second trimester.

I'm 7+1 today. I have my scan next Saturday and I can't wait!

carlaleanne · 23/08/2020 11:17

I am due around 20th April, this is my first pregnancy after trying for almost a year, however I have robertsonian translocation so I have been very anxious and nervous, as we have around about a 20% chance of a successful pregnancy, and a higher chance of miscarriage Sad

So far my boobs hurt, my sense of smell is off the rails and I’ve just started feeling very sick. It’s like motion sickness, from the moment I wake up.. but I’m yet to actually be sick.

I am really hoping for the best!
Congratulations to everyone else that is expecting!

Good afternoon ladies!
Do any of you wake up some mornings and feel “less pregnant” than other days in regards to symptoms?
I’ve woken up this morning and I’m not as bloated, little bit nauseated and my boobs don’t feel as sore and tender as they have been.
I did have this the other day and then the next day I woke up and they were all back.
I went the whole day yesterday with the constant feeling of sickness and then today not as much.
My nausea varies too. Sometimes I wake up and have it straight away, other days (like today), I wake up fine and then it gradually appears and then others I get it mostly just at bedtime along with heartburn? I’m 6+4 today x
