Bean I really understand how you must be feeling now, hang in there honey, it could happen in a few days, again I would ask for a scan to put your mind at rest that the placenta is still in good working order and then ask if you can take it one day at a time. You might feel very different tomorrow and then totally different again on Tuesday. It's only natural your feelings/hormones/emotions are all over the place. Sending you big hugs.

Thanks Turtle. I started another thread on this and the feedback seems to be unanimous. Now feel much clearer in my own mind but double anxious for Piglit.
Have been on the overdue roller-coaster today... will be glad to go to bed for a rest! Hope we all sleep well.

geogteach · 17/10/2004 23:46

As geogteach's dh (I think that's the right terminology/ abbreviation), I would like to let you all know that she delivered a baby boy - Louis Oliver, at 22:50 on Saturday 16th October. The threatened induction booked for the following day worked as the previous two had. Louis was delivered by Caesarean Section so geogteach remains in hospital for at least the next few days.

beansprout · 18/10/2004 07:15

Mr Goegteach - congratulations to all of you and thank you so much for letting us know (we do fret otherwise). Please, please send Geogteach my love and very best wishes and a huge welcome to Louis (lovely, lovely name).

Bellie · 18/10/2004 09:42

Mr Geoteach - congrats and welcome to baby Louis.

Beansprout - hope you are feeling better today and not so fretful about this week.
Sending positive thoughts to you all.

Hi Harman! Fab to hear from you and huge congratulations. Lovely name for ds too - hope you are all well. How's the house?

Huppa - Happy due date! Hope you are ok.
Have to say, am now really quite concerned about Bibi. I just hope she has delivered early as I know she wanted to!

A few mild twinges here but am not getting my hopes up! Dp has actually gone into work (we are trying to invoke sod's law). Have recovered from my wobbly day yesterday and feeling much more of top of things today. Really don't feel as if I am ever going to have a Bean but have decided that I can have quite a nice life being permanently pregnant, so I'll just get on with it...

Hope everyone else is ok xx

Turtle35 · 18/10/2004 11:56

Congrats to Mr and Mrs Geogteach - hope Mrs is recovering well from C section and look forward to hearing the birth story.

Harman, beautiful name I love it. How are you feeling? Look forward to your birth story also.

Bean I think it's a good idea to try and jinx it, make an appointment to get your hair cut or something like that also

Wonder how Piglit is getting on?

Pineapple anyone????.....

Bibiboo's last message was she was experiencing period like pains and maybe that was the beginning of labour for her. I sure hope so as it will be almost a week since we have heard anything and now I am getting worried

Many congratulations to Harman and to Geogteach. Hurrah, hurrah.

beckswith3 · 18/10/2004 14:15

Bean - just go pamper yourself, plan lots of things at least then you are taking your mind of being overdue.
Only 9 days till due day, am taking DS1 out to pizza hut with 3 mates tnight after school, then its his last day at school tomorrow as he starts a new school, closer to home after half term, so he wants me to make a cake for his teachers. Why do I always start baking cakes when I go on maternity leave?

florenceuk · 18/10/2004 15:03

Ooh another birth! Congrats to Geogteach and family.

Beansprout, Piglit - hope the waiting is not driving you mad. More good birth vibes winging your way and to everyone else on this thread!

beansprout · 18/10/2004 18:32

Sigh... what's a girl got to do eh?

pupuce · 18/10/2004 19:26

Beansprout - just plan a hair dressing appointment tomorrow.... you'll go into labour ! This is how it happens to plenty of women....

beansprout · 19/10/2004 08:21

Have tried that! Am off to the hospital soon for induction discussion and no doubt, a sweep (ouch).

Bibi has posted on the birth annoucements strand - hurrah!!

People keep laughing when I tell them I honestly don't feel like I am ever going to have this baby, but I really don't. Feel like I have missed some train or something that everyone else has managed to get on, but not me! As Toots says, this really is a special kind of torture...

rosies · 19/10/2004 08:45

have i suggested reflexology before to naturally induce labour or at the very least, reduce the stress you are currently feeling with the frustration of having to wait? lemme think...YES I HAVE!!!!!!

find someone that knows what they are doing and get it done!

pupuce · 19/10/2004 08:48

what about sex?

Bellie · 19/10/2004 11:17

Hope it goes OK today beansprout.
Just been to the dr and he reckons that I am going to go overdue - so I will be in the same position as you soon. I am feeling really grumpy already

Will try all of the suggestions that have been mentioned on here. Going to see an homeopath tomorrow so will let you know any other ideas that I get from there!

Turtle35 · 19/10/2004 13:29

Good luck Bean, let us know how it goes please.

Bellie, how does your GP know you will go over? That must of been really disapointing for you.

In case anyone is looking to kill some time, I bought the first series of 24 the show with Keifer Sutherland in it, I have started watching it and it's addictive, really good for lazing about, waiting for labour and doing nothing but watching telly, eating pineapple and drinking raspberry leaf tea

Any news of our Piglit?

Will check the birth announcement from Bibi now.

Huppa????

Bibiboo · 19/10/2004 13:41

hang in there Bean - me and dd are thinking of you x

beansprout · 19/10/2004 14:03

Thanks everyone. Well, good news from the doc in that they are happy to monitor me until at least Monday (by which time I will be term + 16(!!)) and don't have to discuss induction until then. This buys me another 6 days by which time surely....?!!

Doc also tried to do a sweep but Bean's head was too low (Pupuce - is this significant?!), so wan't able to.
Am feeling pretty uncomfortable but relieved that I still have every chance of being at the birth centre and haven't been pushed into something I don't want.

Bellie - why did doc say that to you? Is the head not fully engaged yet? Hope everyone else is ok, thinking of you all.

motherinferior · 19/10/2004 14:14

Oh honey, good news (under circs). SURELY by then you'll have popped????

nailpolish · 19/10/2004 14:45

pupuce · 19/10/2004 15:40

Beansprout - was the head too low or your cervix too high?

geogteach · 19/10/2004 15:49

I'm home but Louis is now calling so back later!
