@Phie04 i'm not sure but last time @Sussexbysea created a new thread and tagged a load of us in it. We only need to keep these threads going till all of us are 12 weeks!! Then we can move to fb hopefully!

Sussexbysea · 09/08/2020 17:29

@bibs124 the medicine I’m on crosses the placenta and in time, baby will be absorbing the medicine too. Scares the life out of me.

Aspirin promotes the placenta to work harder. Check with your endocrine consultant. I’m under obstetrics too so maybe you’ll be referred to them if you are classed at risk.

An under and over active thyroid act very differently in and out of pregnancy so please get advice xx

@DSP21 sorry, I must have missed you off. I’ll tag you in the new thread. There’s so many active people on this thread, it’s difficult to get all their names

My booking appointment is tomorrow morning at the DRs!! Anyone know what they're likely to ask?! I feel as nervous as I was when I have my notice to marry, it feels like an interview 🤣

Thack · 09/08/2020 18:16

Hi @Jtb123 I had mine over the phone this week. It's basic questions, just making notes really. They'll ask about the pregnancy : last period, any bleeding, any past pregnancies or miscarriages. They'll ask about what you/your partner do and any relevant medical history in either of your families. Lifestyle questions (do you smoke, drink, your approx height and weight). Remember, you can't answer wrong 🙂 you can always update them later if you think of something else

chloxhunt · 09/08/2020 18:42

@aureliacecilia it's still not actually the hospital I'll be going to it was an emergency appointment I have to go somewhere else for my scans due to having a heart condition

aureliacecilia · 09/08/2020 18:56

Thank you for the tag, @Sussexbysea!

@Slat3 has set up a Facebook group but I'm not sure how many posters from this thread have joined. I am happy to join a Facebook group once I've had my 12 week scan and told some of the important people in my life. I don't mind if it's an existing one or a new one. A new one for the posters on this thread would be nice, just to make sure we capture everyone. I feel like we're getting to know each other a bit now - even if it's mostly all about nausea and weird bodily functions!

I'm really sorry to hear about those struggling with spotting and sickness.

aureliacecilia · 09/08/2020 18:58

@chloxhunt Just wanted to check you were OK with it! Smile Hope your heart condition is OK and doesn't cause any complications.

I'm firmly in the anonymous on Mumsnet and until 12 weeks on Facebook camp. Wink

JTB123 · 09/08/2020 19:11

@aureliacecilia phahahahha I'm with you there, don't dare join the FB group until I know I'm 12 weeks and if people see if I don't have to deny it. 😂

chloxhunt · 09/08/2020 19:20

@aureliacecilia haven't noticed any changes yet but I guess I'll have to wait till I get an appointment with my doctors guess that won't be till 12 weeks but we will see

Slat3 · 09/08/2020 19:30

Just jumping in as I’ve been tagged, hope you’re all doing well. I’ve been suffering with constant nausea so bought the anti-sickness bands & it’s probably a placebo but they seem to help!

I can’t keep up with these threads, but yeah the FB group wasn’t made by myself but unfortunately the previous lady had a m/c so I’m ‘admin’. There’s 46 on there now, only from Mumsnet threads and it’s completely secret (it’s private & hidden). Would be lovely if more joined but if you want your own that’s fine.

Good luck everyone Cake

Babafarmer · 09/08/2020 20:58

@JTB123 don't worry about your booking appointment. The only weird question is if you are related to the biological father Confused
In addition to the questions already posted they ask about you mood and mental health history. If the baby was planned and how you feel about the pregnancy. But honestly I was on the phone for an hour and I quite enjoyed it

Connell1991 · 09/08/2020 22:34

Hi ladies, I have my booking appt and 12 week scan on tuesday. Il only be 11 weeks but due to medical conditions my doctor requested an earlier appt. Good news too my husband is allowed to go with me. (We are in N.Ireland) I've already has 2 scans at epu and seen the baby's heartbeat but I'm still so nervous.

KatyCherry23 · 10/08/2020 06:24

Oh I forgot about all the questions at the booking appointment. My partner is from India and his parents died when he was little so he never talks about them. Seeing as it's a telephone appointment he can't get the time off from work so we will just have to skip all the questions about his family because I have literally no idea! Hmm
I've been doing some reading about my conditions and pregnancy, and really weirded myself out. I'm hypermobile and local anesthetics don't work on me, when I had stitches last time the lidocane didn't work at all but the midwife didn't believe me that I could feel it. Well turns out people with EDS don't react to it including an epidural so thank God I didn't need a cesarean because that would have been more than traumatic. By birth notes are going to have so many bloody research papers stapled into it so the midwives believe it next time GrinGrin
It's my 7+2 private scan today for pain and bleeding and I've been up since 5am sick with worry so wish me luck.

JTB123 · 10/08/2020 07:10

@KatyCherry23 oh thank you! Hahah can't wait for that question 🤣
