@DSP21 @Mrs1989 I'm petite too but no bloating or any sign yet! I'm 5ft and just over 7 stone, wondering if I won't show for a long time or whether I'll be one of the massive ones 😂

Mrs1989 · 06/08/2020 21:15

@DSP21 @JTB123 I am also fairly petite at 5ft 3 and wondering whether I’ll not show that much for a while or if I’ll become a barrel overnight! I have a bit of bloating. I usually have it a bit after dinner but stomach is generally quite flat in the morning. Not so now! xxx

chloxhunt · 06/08/2020 21:32

@Mrs1989 my mums thinks I might start showing at 12 weeks I'm under 5ft and I'm under 7 stone lol however my belly already is that shape so who knows 😂

juliesmith1988 · 06/08/2020 21:37

DiscordandRhyme · 06/08/2020 21:43

Am I ok to join?

Guesstimating my due date to be 19th of March.

This will be baby number 3 and our last!

We have two girls already aged 7 and 4.

I've been on here with my previous Littles just with different names.

Hope everyone is doing ok.

Springawake · 06/08/2020 21:54

I'm due March 22nd with my third child . Does anyone else feel like absolute death ? I've never had pregnancy symptoms this bad . I can't even explain how awful I feel . Never felt anything like it 🤢🤮 how is everyone else feeling ?

Taylortyler · 06/08/2020 22:00

Ok I just looked at maternity pay and now I am freaking out. With what I'd be taking home (statutory) and what my other half brings home, it'll only just cover the bills. With about £400 a month for food, petrol and anything the baby needs... why did I not know that maternity pay is £150 a week?! I should have saved up £20k before we did this.

ValidUser · 06/08/2020 22:45

@Springawake this is my first, but I feel like I've a constant hangover!

JTB123 · 06/08/2020 23:21

@juliesmith1988 how many weeks are you Julie? Any symptoms? 😁

Clara9 · 07/08/2020 07:50

There he or she is! Went for an early scan yesterday and saw a heartbeat. Was the most magical moment! Glad my husband was there as I couldn’t take a thing she was saying in!

Morning ladies! If any of you self referred to your midwife unit, at what point in your pregnancy did you do it? I’m almost 7 weeks and have very little symptoms going on so I’m thinking of waiting until after my private scan at around 9 weeks. Not sure if this will be too late though, any thoughts?

Also, cramps...is anyone suffering much with cramps? I had quite strong period like cramps last night, strong enough to wake me up. They seem to be very mild this morning and no spotting (just lots of milky discharge - sorry tmi) so hopefully it’s just a sign that something is going on down there but it was a bit unnerving!

Sussexbysea · 07/08/2020 07:58

@aureliacecilia

Yes she goes to nursery, has done since she turned one and I went back to work. We most certainly take advantage of the free hours, although it never really works out to 30 hours free a week. I wish it did!!

We were thinking of increasing her days to 4 days a week for the first few months to help me with baby but the more I think about it, I probably won’t.

She starts school in September 2021 so I want to make the most of the time with her.

@EmMissingnormalfood yes, I have been exercising. Mainly just light weights and running. I have taken it a bit easier than I would usually, mainly due to lack of motivation! When I had my daughter I played a team sport up until week 12 and ran until week 20 and then sadly my hips got too sore. I think if you feel up to it then go for it :)

DSP21 · 07/08/2020 08:09

@BatKat I self referred 2.5 weeks ago and only just had my booking appt scheduled for Monday. Nothing to say you cant get paperwork started, no matter what the outcome of the pregnancy is x

chloxhunt · 07/08/2020 08:18

@BatKat yes I've had bad cramping for a couple of weeks! I'm now 7 weeks I'm having a scan today to make sure everything's okay! But that's the only symptom I've had apart from not liking certain foods/ drinks and the thought of them makes me dry heave 😂

GreysLove · 07/08/2020 08:26

@BatKat I called my NHS trust directly rather than go through the GP the day I got my second bfp. My booking app not for another 3 weeks then scan 2 weeks after that (I'm 7w today). I'd call now and get some dates in your diary.

I'm getting the cramps too but no spotting just trying to stay chill about it as it's seen as normal.

KO2018 · 07/08/2020 08:44

Hearing about everyone’s nausea makes me feel so sorry for you all! Mine has kind of gotten better over the past couple of days so I’ve stopped taking meds for now. I really hope it’s not a bad sign...

I feel like we shouldn’t have to suffer like this, especially if you can’t keep down water @Mrs1989 ! So I am urging anyone who feels really bad with it to go to the GP and get some meds to help cope. It was really not a big deal for me to get them.

Don’t be a hero girls x

Dreamcatcher007 · 07/08/2020 08:47

@BatKat I self-referred at 8 weeks and now having my telephone appointment only at 10.5 weeks. I wanted to wait till I was more sure until making self-referral, but at the same time now I wish the appointment was a bit earlier as I’d like to ask to for some blood tests now rather than wait for my 12.5 week scan. No harm in self-referring earlier I think.

Dreamcatcher007 · 07/08/2020 08:49

@BatKat Definitely had cramps in the first few weeks, particularly after exercising - I was really worried about it, but they eased around 8 weeks I think.

EmMissingnormalfood · 07/08/2020 08:55

@BatKat
Thank you! I’m feeling so bloated and don’t feel like myself anymore. I really want to exercise. You see all these images of perfect bumps and my belly right now makes me not even want to record the growth. Which I know sounds terrible! But I’ve always struggled with belly fat and I feel much better when exercising so knowing I can still do some makes me happy.

Charlotte2020 · 07/08/2020 08:59

@Taylortyler it's crap isn't it! No one can live on that a week! My work gives 6months full pay, so I think I'll be able to have about 7m off- no way can I take a full year 😭

EmMissingnormalfood · 07/08/2020 09:04

@Mrs1989
I think I’ll ring my local scan place and double check.

I’m so sorry about your earlier miscarriage. I can understand the extra caution now.

I got on to yogablitz app before I was pregnant and there are pregnancy exercises on there but only from the second trimester hence the worry. Lockdown has meant I’ve been doing too much sitting and working from home means I don’t even walk to the station anymore for some exercise. My dog then hurt her paw so those walks were out the window for 6 weeks.
I started walking her again from yesterday morning. It feels good to get out again.
Might try exercises again. I can’t wait. It really helps my mental health.

bumblingalonghappily · 07/08/2020 09:06

Morning everyone.

I know @Taylortyler it's not much is it! I get a few weeks on full pay but as I'm returning to work part time (I'm actually still on mat leave with DC1) my 'full pay' that I get will be substantially less this time. Plus once the new baby is in nursery I'll be shelling out £1800 a month for three days a week of childcare. Will be a while before my eldest is eligible for any free hours! Sad times!

EmMissingnormalfood · 07/08/2020 09:14

@Taylortyler
Does your work not give any enhanced maternity?

@Charlotte2020
That’s really good enhanced maternity.

We use our enhanced pay total and do a drawdown from it to top up SMP each month for as long as we can. I did my calculations to see how long I could survive. I’m toying with the idea of topping up to half pay for as long as possible rather than full pay. I could take 10 months off this way. Money would be tight but if I buy the baby stuff we need before maternity leave then it should be ok. I’d rather spend time with my baby than have to go back to work sooner.

Sussexbysea · 07/08/2020 09:15

@Taylortyler @bumblingalonghappily

It’s so difficult isn’t it. I campaigned at my work for an increased maternity package and won!!! It’s changed the policy for everyone who would be on family leave. It’s brilliant.

£1800 a month?! Crazy money!! Do you know about the childcare gov discount? 20% saving and it’s amazing! We never knew about it until one year into her being in nursery.
