sussex I’m in outer west London, it’s much more a family area than where we were before (more central)

BabySweet85 · 04/08/2020 17:43

Congratulations to all you ladies who have had positive news with your scans today x

aureliacecilia · 04/08/2020 18:26

Lovely to see these scan photos. I am trying very hard to wait patiently for my NHS scan! I am waiting to hear from a midwife to book my booking appointment. I sent my form off over the weekend so hopefully I'll hear back soon.

Sussexbysea · 04/08/2020 18:56

I’m loving all these scan pictures 😍

Are you guys starting to compile lists of names? Mine is huge. Have realised my choices are definitely on the more 'out there' spectrum after looking at the Mumsnet baby names section. There's a thread of names that people like but would never use and there's loads there that I'm like, oooooo adding that!

aureliacecilia · 04/08/2020 19:22

I've got a few ideas! DS has a name in the top 50 so I don't think we will choose anything too outlandish for this baby - it'll most likely be something in the top 100.

Mrs1989 · 04/08/2020 19:26

@Kw35 I am so sorry that this has happened. I had a miscarriage in January and it is such a horrible thing to go through. Even though you know countless other women have experienced similar to you, it is still a very personal experience, and for many it can be a very isolating experience. Please take care of yourself and please do message me if you would ever like to talk xxx

MsK2be89 · 04/08/2020 19:40

@Kw35 I’m so sorry to hear what’s happened :(

@bobloblawlawblog your scan is so clear! My due date is the same as yours, however I’m due a 9 week scan next week so will be interesting to see if it’s changed at all

What excuses do people have for not going out at the moment? So far I’ve used a few:
Had to drive Friday night as was ‘taking my mum to an appointment early Saturday morning
Also used the excuse I’m saving up for a holiday next month

Help me out with some more please 😂

bobloblawlawblog · 04/08/2020 19:43

MsK the video is even clearer but can't figure out how to post it!

aureliacecilia · 04/08/2020 19:49

Not needing go make any excuses here - no one is asking me to go out drinking!

Taylortyler · 04/08/2020 19:51

@MsK2be89 offer to give other people a lift, then you're the driver?!

MsK2be89 · 04/08/2020 20:01

@Taylortyler good idea!

Also random question but has anyone got off drink? I drink soooo much water and squash During the day normally! Also usually have a can of Diet Coke in the evenings. Over the last couple days I can’t stand the thought of drinking which is really weird. The only thing I can tolerate to drink is apple juice, so I’m drinking so much of it! I know it’s not the best but at least it’s liquid I guess. No cravings yet, mainly just things I can’t stand. Anyone had any cravings yet?

Taylortyler · 04/08/2020 20:07

@MsK2be89 I can't stop drinking water, squash, decaf coffee, juice- I've been really thirsty. And cravings so far; olives, garlic croutons and apple juice!

chloxhunt · 04/08/2020 20:08

@jl90

Hi All,

First of all, congratulations to everyone!

I'm new here and I had a positive pregnancy test on June 10th. I've only had a call with my GP and it was a very unhelpful call. Pretty much just said wait for your referral letter but I haven't received anything. I got another call afterwards but missed it as I was at work and I called back to the GP and receptionist just told me the GP probably accidentally called me again which I highly doubt so..

This is my first pregnancy and I'm getting really anxious...Just wondering when do you normally have the first appointment?

According to my calendar, I'm about 6 weeks pregnant now and I know I'm suppose to have my first antenatal appointment before 10 weeks?

I'm waiting to be referred too!
Shinygreenelephant · 04/08/2020 20:12

@Kw35 so so sorry. Its the worst thing in the world, sending you lots of love.

Shinygreenelephant · 04/08/2020 20:14

This is our little cashew at 7 weeks Smile

BabySweet85 · 04/08/2020 20:21

@bobloblawlawblog I am struggling massively with boys names. Any suggestions would be great! I love loads of girls names so not worried about being able to choose one of those.

Taylortyler · 04/08/2020 20:26

@BabySweet85 for a boy we have already picked Jackson... but I also like Harrison, Jake, Riley and Mason.

I have no girls names because I really like the name Elliott for a girl and my husband has said not in a million years!

Porcupette · 04/08/2020 20:37

@Kw35 so sorry Flowers

@chloxhunt @jl90 I’m waiting to hear too. My gp referred me a few weeks ago (or said they would) but I still haven’t heard, so I did a self referral at the weekend. Going by LMP I’m 9 weeks so I’m getting anxious not to have heard (though I know from a private scan we’re actually not that far).

@MsK2be89 I’ve used a variety of things too like claiming to be on antibiotics for people I know I’ll see more often, volunteering to drive etc. I have to admit though I’ve just claimed to be busy on at least one occasion when I know it’d be a big night and the idea of curling up on the sofa with Disney+ sounded more appealing GrinBlush

@Taylortyler I’ve been super thirsty too, which isn’t helping with getting up so many times overnight! I also weirdly am really into milk right now - not sure it counts as a craving because I like it anyway, but I’m getting through a lot more of it!

aureliacecilia · 04/08/2020 20:40

Great that you've chosen a name already @Taylortyler! I'm not sure about Elliot for a girl but I do like it for a boy. I'm guessing you're a Scrubs fan? I find boys' names harder than girls' names.

BabySweet85 · 04/08/2020 20:40

@Taylortyler Jackson is a lovely name! Good for you having one sorted. I do like unisex names for girls x

Taylortyler · 04/08/2020 21:05

@aureliacecilia I've never seen scrubs lol

@Porcupette the thirst is real! But I figure your body has to make the extra blood and amniotic fluid out of something!

Taylortyler · 04/08/2020 21:06

If anyone has any girls names fire away because I got none on the list!

chloxhunt · 04/08/2020 21:11

@Porcupette yeah it's so annoying! I'm supposed to hear by the weekend I believe but they don't work weekends so I'm hoping I'll hear someone by Monday or I've go to contact them! I've got a heart condition so I kinda want all my appointments booked so I can relax lol

Porcupette · 04/08/2020 21:14

@Taylortyler that’s sort of what I’ve been telling myself too!

We’re finding girls names easier than boys names - not in terms of having picked anything but there’s a few we both like! Have you tried the app BabyName? It’s a bit like tinder for names, so you can go through at hour own pace and it’ll keep a list of any you/you both like!

That makes sense @chloxhunt, hope you hear back soon!
