Hi would it be ok to join? I just found out I'm pregnant (had spotting for the last couple of days) I have an early scan booked on Monday so hopefully all still is ok.

Aurora124 · 31/07/2020 23:32

Are all these Early scans private? I had an ectopic pregnancy in January so really want an early scan this time to check everything is ok. Is ut possible through the NHS?

Morning / Allday sickness 😑..

Mine has hit at just over 6 wks. I go to get ready to go out to something important and a wave of it knocks me for six. Today was a complete write off. GP prescribed Promethazine. Some have expressed not always a good idea. I took one and it helped immensely with the nausea. Any input on this med?

Also to note I haven’t had a decent bowel movement for about a week. GP prescribed Laxido sachets. I’m praying they work. As right now I look three months pregnant because of this all inside me! and my body feels so toxic! I’m eating well, but nothings able to leave the building 😩

Hope your all doing okay in the heat

GreysLove · 01/08/2020 07:05

Does anyone else feel a little crampy when you have a full bladder, or just after peeing? It feels like an ache in my uterus that last just a minute or two. I'm making sense of it in that there's a lot going on down there between baby, bladder and bowel that anything that's "moving" in or out sort of upsets the balance and there's aches as things resettle- or am I just talking rubbish lol

BlenheimOrange · 01/08/2020 07:13

@NewMumToBe2021 I have that and it’s life changing for sickness. It’s been around for a very long time, it’s available over the counter for things like travel sickness, and it’s often the first drug they try because from existing for ages they know it’s ok (and my DS is fiiiiine)

DSP21 · 01/08/2020 07:26

Hey guys, so I had some bleeding yesterday evening and ended up in a&e, they did a urine test to confirm pregnancy but waiting for an appt for an early scan today. Hoping all is well but anxiety is through the roof!

krj2608 · 01/08/2020 07:26

@GreysLove I thought it was just me! Get it all the time.

I'm considering booking an early scan. I had an accident yesterday slipped down the stairs top to bottom, fainted and possible fracture of my foot or dislocation of my little toe. Ambulance was called by my husband and I spent all day in a and e having tests. My temperature was up at 38.2 and blood pressure was extremely high. They can't do anything about my foot due to its location and no xrays at this stage of pregnancy as it's high risk of causing a miscarriage. They called obs and gynae for advice and said epu will see me if I get any bleeding but baby should be fine. I'm Very sore this morning but also very concerned about baby/being pregnant. Brilliant way to spend the hottest day of the year! Not!

EmzG20 · 01/08/2020 07:28

Morning ladies. How are we all feeling today.
Woke up this morning feeling very sick and almost hungover. As uncomfortable as it is I'm guessing it's a good thing.
Hubby has booked an early scan for us only it's not for 2 weeks which seems like such a long time away.

Maggi85 · 01/08/2020 07:51

Hi All - I was on the last thread and only just found this one. If there is a Facebook group please could I be added? I have a early scan at the EPAU this week all ok so far saw a heartbeat and that was reassuring. I’m on progesterone pessaries until 13 weeks. Hope everyone else is doing well with there pregnancies x

Maggi85 · 01/08/2020 07:53

@dps21fingers crossed you can get in for a scan soon and hope the bleeding eases off xx

ChilternsHan · 01/08/2020 07:56

@GreysLove yes I've had this too, normally first thing in the morning. It's like a very mild version of the period poop cramps I'd get (TMI!).

@DSP21 and @krj2608 sorry to hear you've both been in the hospital yesterday! Take care of yourselves Flowers

I'm going for my private scan today and I'm very nervous - I've not had too many symptoms so part of me thinks they'll just say 'you did the tests wrong, you were never pregnant' 😂

Thanks. It really seems life changing when I took it yesterday. Glad to hear you took before and DS fine. I just couldn’t cope without it I don’t think.

NewMumToBe2021 · 01/08/2020 08:02

If it’s useful to anyone who had similar issues.
I think the LAXIDO might be working. Very gentle on the stomach etc too.

Shinygreenelephant · 01/08/2020 08:06

@DSP21 and @krj2608 hope you’re both okay!

Feel extra sick this morning and I’m a witness at my mates wedding in a few hours so I have to drag myself up and try and make myself look half decent... seems like quite a task

Taylortyler · 01/08/2020 08:10

@Aurora124 I booked mine privately just googled somewhere nearby and then compared 2 different places, picking the one I liked the sound of!

Taylortyler · 01/08/2020 08:16

@EmzG20 my early scan isn't until 15th Aug.. I should be about 9 weeks so hopefully be able to see a little prawn with a heart beat! Doesn't help I have wicked dreams at the moment so last night I dreamt that we went for the scan and the baby bounced up and down so we saw it was a girl and then I gave birth! We called her Jackson Roxanne. Jackson is the name we've picked for a boy but we picked that before we even started trying. Currently don't have a girls name but I'm convinced it is a girl. Can you tell I overthink everything?!

Also got a pack through on email from the midwife referral thing and it had about 20 leaflets attached with screening and options for pregnancy, which is fair enough but there was also stuff on breastfeeding and where I want to give birth- isn't it a bit early to plan that kind of shit?!

KatyCherry23 · 01/08/2020 08:23

@Sh4mmy I am so sorry it wasn't the news you were hoping for love. I hope you are finding time to take care of yourself.

KatyCherry23 · 01/08/2020 08:36

@Taylortyler I never think it's too early for planning birth and feeding. Especially with things as they are right now. After making sure kidney bean is in there, thinking about the birth plan is my biggest source of stress because all the midwive units are closed and home births cancelled in my area. I absolutely cannot give birth in a hospital because I can't control my anxiety as soon as I step foot in the door so I know it isn't the best place for me.

We have gone private for the early scan because I was told "they aren't doing scans right now" . I later found out that was a lie so I'm pretty miffed as I've had cramping and on and off bleeding since 4 weeks. I'd rather pay £80 to the NHS or a charity than to a private scan company, I bet they are raking it in as we have nowhere else to turn with our anxieties.
That's my angry pregnancy rant for the day anyway Wink

JTB123 · 01/08/2020 08:45

@DSP21 hope everything is ok! Let us know how it goes xx

JTB123 · 01/08/2020 08:45

6 weeks today!! 🤞🏻❤️
No nausea, currently chowing through a maccies breakfast 🤣

Taylortyler · 01/08/2020 09:08

@KatyCherry23 I was not prepared for the anxiety of pregnancy, I knew about morning sickness and cravings etc. But I hadn't realised my brain would go over every possible scenario all the time!
I'm not stressed about the birth and actually I want to be in a hospital just in case I need extra help... I am stressed about having a cannula and a catheter but trying not to think about that!
I'm just hoping I have a nice midwife- they're going to call me in '10 working days'

KatyCherry23 · 01/08/2020 09:32

@Taylortyler is it you first baby? Sorry I couldn't remember. Pregnancy can be super stressful but just trying to keep calm and take it easy, which is easier said than done.
Having a nice midwife honestly makes such a difference, I didn't click with my first mifwive last time round so she switched with another one and I loved her! I was lucky and had her the whole way through for every appointment and she delivered my baby. I doubt I will be that lucky this time round but here's hoping.
It's the medical interventions and hospital stuff that freaks me out, I know if I needed interventions I would start to have a panic attack and things would go downhill so I am much happier to let my body take control as this is what it is built for. Last time I gave birth in a midwives unit so I knew they couldn't intervene and it was way less stressful for me!

Sussexbysea · 01/08/2020 09:36

@DSP21 how you feeling today?

Were you bleeding heavily? It must have been awful for you. My trust say to stay home if you are bleeding, they won’t scan us in a&e

Taylortyler · 01/08/2020 09:38

@KatyCherry23 yes first baby- is it that obvious lol?!
I'm trying to chill as much as possible it's just the not knowing I think, I like to have a plan but it's impossible when you don't know what's happening
