My boobs are only sore in the morning and then it wears off. This morning feel groggy again just like a mild hangover. I really don’t want actual sickness. I guess we need to remember that some wen don’t get morning sickness and it’s still all okay.

What is anybody eating? I can’t stop eating toast but want to start being healthy for the baby. It’s just so hard to eat well when you feel like rubbish!

LottieDot · 30/07/2020 10:16

@LuHen I havent had my 1st apt yet but it will be over the phone

@LottieX sorry you feel so rough, I know I'll regret wanting symptoms! I've been sleeping okay but waking really early, like 4am and not being able to go back. Maybe take some snacks to bed haha

@DSP21 same here! I check the tests about 5 times a day as most of the time I don't feel any different. Glad to know it's not just me.

@BabySweet85 I'm wanting toast constantly too! I've been forcing a smoothie down a couple of days a week full of good stuff just to try and get some nutrients in. I'm just wanting carbs but not sure I can blame that on the pregnancy haha

Phie04 · 30/07/2020 10:32

@LottieX Yes!!! That's exactly how to describe my symptoms. Can't sleep, sick to my stomach but also so hungry and hollow and unable to eat! The thought of certain foods and drinks just makes me want to run to the nearest loo! I've been feeling that rough I'm unable to go to work

Dreamcatcher007 · 30/07/2020 11:31

Hi All,
Could I join please? I’m due 4th of March, 9 weeks today! I’m 36, and our DS has just turned 2. I’m so happy we got pregnant straight away as I was agonising over the risks of Covid in pregnancy, but then given my and hubby’s age decided to go for it, and was prepared it would take us a while!

Now I absolutely can’t wait for my 12 weeks scan to make sure there’s heartbeat and it’s all ok so far. 🤞 I’m such a worrier - with DS I had tons of private reassurance scans but now I promised myself I‘ll take some of the medical precautionary advice not to overdo it on unnecessary scans if it seems to be going ok otherwise - we’ll see how that goes...

My first midwife appointment in 1.5 weeks will be over the phone, and to me that’s fine as I don’t expect it to be particularly useful. I’ve also been looking into different (expensive unfortunately!) diagnostic options to give me extra reassurance, I also plan to do do Harmony or similar non-invasive prenatal testing for chromosomal abnormalities (just the 3 key ones, not the whole lot like some companies offer) with a more detailed private scan at around 15 weeks I think, as I definitely won’t be able to wait till 20 weeks to get the detailed view on NHS. And as I understand as 12 weeks you can already see the brain, kidney and other organs on the ultrasound but on NHS they just focus on nuchal translucency (NT), although it might depend on the hospital.

It’s so good to see other ladies with the same worries - loving the supportive vibe here! 😊

Dreamcatcher007 · 30/07/2020 11:35

@babysweet85 I can’t stop eating in general! 😂 My appetite is crazy, and working from home doesn’t help! 🤦‍♀️ I’ve never felt any nausea, not with DS either, so there’s nothing stopping me from eating the junk food apart from my conscience, which isn’t always reliable for this now! 😆

Dreamcatcher007 · 30/07/2020 11:43

@Sussexbysea Thank you for creating the thread! Hope you are feeling ok - how’s the self-isolation going? Do you still not have any Covid symptoms? Do you have any idea where you could have picked it up?

I’ve finally bit the bullet and we put DS in nursery, so now I’m terrified I’ll catch it. It’s crazy to think how many among us probably have it and have no idea - I did read somewhere that up to 90% of all Covid cases are asymptotic or very mild in pregnant women (and probably in general population), but that have no idea what impact it has on the foetus and the baby - hopefully none!! 🤞

Dreamcatcher007 · 30/07/2020 11:48

@LottieDot Exactly the sake here regarding sleep!! I’ve been regularly lying awake till 1am at night, really need to do smth about this. The other night I persevered until 2am, then gave up, got up, watched a movie, ate a bag of Doritos and finally fell asleep at 4am - it’s ridiculous! (I also felt very bad about the Doritos...) Needless to say, the next day was a very long day.

Dreamcatcher007 · 30/07/2020 11:54

@NewMumToBe2021 West London here too! 👋

BabySweet85 · 30/07/2020 13:21

@LottieDot ooo what are you putting in your smoothies? I was using frozen berries but then read that they are a big no no! Oops! I love green smoothies and juice but have developed an allergy to apples so can’t have them now either. Any smoothie recipes would be welcome!

Sussexbysea · 30/07/2020 13:39

@Dreamcatcher007 I had a tiny cough for about a week but nothing like they describe as a symptom.

Medical professionals aren’t even sure if I had it in the first place.

@Sussexbysea Glad you’re feeling ok x

jerseylau · 30/07/2020 14:59

Hi all! I've come from the first thread too!

@BabySweet85 I have an absolute toast craving too! I make my self feel better by telling myself it's homemade sourdough so isn't so bad (lie!)

Smoothies are my go to morning option as well though with the nausea! A big bit of fresh ginger in it seems to help

Shinygreenelephant · 30/07/2020 15:13

@Sussexbysea glad you’re feeling ok. My youngest is 18m, I’m hoping to carry on feeding her as I don’t feel either of us are ready to stop but we will see what happens, not going to put pressure on myself either way.

@aureliacecilia I was planning to feed her til she turned 3 or longer, but who knows now. I love the idea of feeding a newborn and a toddler but might be being over optimistic!

NewMumToBe2021 · 30/07/2020 15:14

@LuHen

My boobs are usually a 34D, but I do have implants. I'm already having to look for new bras today because they are so inflated and im only about 7 weeks. I hope they don't get any bigger haha! Im on holiday and so unfortunately don't have my booking in apt until 11 weeks. Do you think I'll have to wait ages to book my scan after that? Did you guys have your 1st apt in person? Xx
I’ve just ordered a size up and up again of sports type non wired bra’s i got new the other month, before found out was pregnant. My boobs are expanding!! From advice from a friend she said if they are well priced, get a couple of them of maybe 2 of the next sizes up because she varied between 6 different sizes! 😳 Always found it hard to find nice ones that fit right or didn’t dig in so I’m taking her advice and getting more sizes of the good ones that are comfortable.
Shinygreenelephant · 30/07/2020 15:15

@jerseylau how good are you! I’ve gone from eating 6-8 portions of fruit and veg a day to living off cashew nuts and ginger biscuits for the last 2 weeks, with the odd pot noodle thrown in.

Sourdough is the only useful thing I have achieved for weeks though! I have totally underestimated quite how tired I would be - I mean where did all my energy go?!

LottieDot · 30/07/2020 16:04

@BabySweet85 Fresh strawberries, grapes, blueberries, spinach and natural yogurt today. I didn't know that about frozen berries though and have a bag in the freezer so I'll not use them! I'm not enjoying them as much now, I just want all the bad stuff haha.

KatyCherry23 · 30/07/2020 16:43

Hello everybody. I hope you are all well. I feel like I haven't been on here for ages as I got really busy with a work project.
I finally got my information in with the midwives, apparently in my area they have had a complete change around and my midwives didn't exist until today so I was given the wrong number by the doctors. So hopefully they will give me a call back for a booking appointment. I'm 5+5 today. Still having a bit of bleeding and cramps but we have booked for a private scan on the 10th at 7 weeks just to double check.

Can I ask why you can't eat frozen berries when pregnant? I have 2 degrees in nutrition and I'm a researcher in maternal and infant health but I have never heard this before so I am interested in where this comes from?

I hope you all have a great day and enjoy the sunshine!

Sh4mmy · 30/07/2020 16:58

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA today, been at my mums with the kids, niece and nephew, trying to keep busy by the pool!

I didn't sleep too badly to be honest, think I was wiped out from the emotion of yesterday! I'm hoping tonight goes quickly, I sleep well and hope that tomorrow morning goes quickly, I've got lots of housework to do and so I'm sure it will!

Hope everyone here is ok xx

DSP21 · 30/07/2020 16:58

@KatyCherry23 I'm 5+5 today too! Snap!

KatyCherry23 · 30/07/2020 17:25

@Sh4mmy that pool photo looks gorgeous! That's just what I need a nice swim. Although I don't fit in my costume and the new one I ordered makes me look like an elephant 😂

@DSP21 so exciting! But also so nerve-racking! Everyday I have a little mini-celebration, followed by a breakdown 😂

Bearcub01 · 30/07/2020 17:45

According to my app I’m 7+1. I’ve been feeling awful with sickness the past few days and can’t even get out of bed. I went for a poo earlier and had some bright red bleeding so have called the doctor to see what she thinks. No cramping or pains so hopefully everything is ok.

KatyCherry23 · 30/07/2020 18:08

@Bearcub01I hope your bleeding is nothing to worry about and you doctor puts your mind at ease. I've heard it's quite common and my sister had bleeding in the first trimester but now has a 2 month old baby but it's scary nonetheless!
X

Taylortyler · 30/07/2020 18:09

Hi all.. just checked the nhs guidelines and in the uk (not sure where everyone else is from) frozen fruit is absolutely fine, in fact all fruits and vegetables are recommended and you should try and eat lots!

Meanwhile my newest craving is for apple juice! Trying to limit myself to a small carton here and there as I don't want to drink too much sugar!

Sussexbysea · 30/07/2020 18:21

@Sh4mmy I’m super jealous of that picture! Did you have a dip too?

Hope today’s been a better day xx
