@KatyCherry23 hi! I honestly have no idea why frozen berries are bad and had been eating them everyday then when looked up stuff that’s good and not good to eat on google frozen berries came up. So I googled it specifically as I was putting them in my smoothie every day and it said best avoided. I am in no way a nutrition expert so was just relying on google 😂

@Taylortyler that’s good news about the frozen berries as i have had lots to be fair! Sorry to everyone to create a fuss on the berry front 😂

KatyCherry23 · 30/07/2020 18:48

@BabySweet85 no fuss at all I was genuinely interested in it. Also I thought there might had been some new research I missed and was worried for a second as I love berries. There is so much rubbish on the Internet honestly it makes me want to cry sometimes 😂! Tbh with you frozen fruits are sometimes better than fresh because they are frozen straight after being picked which can preserve nutrients.

BabySweet85 · 30/07/2020 19:13

@KatyCherry23 i often find with the internet that one website says ‘eat this it’s great!’ Then another says ‘avoid at all costs!’ 🙈

BlenheimOrange · 30/07/2020 19:16

@babysweet85 @LottieDot @KatyCherry23 I googled the berries thing and found this site parenting.firstcry.com/articles/10-fruits-not-eat-pregnancy/ which...given it bans some fruit for ‘heating up’ the body and others for ‘cooling’, I’m figuring is utter bollocks based on a system other than western medicine Wink

Sussexbysea · 30/07/2020 19:40

Today, I started to worry that my symptoms were going. Nope, full force of nausea after eating a chocolate digestive.

@KatyCherry23 Based on your previous post, hope you don’t mind me asking you this.... anything you know that’s good for heartburn?

OP posts:
KatyCherry23 · 30/07/2020 20:33

@Sussexbysea the best thing for heartburn is to stay away from acidic and/or spicy foods, I suffer really badly from reflux even when I'm not preggers, it's horrible isn't it! So it could be anything from orange juice, acidic fruits, tomatoes or spicy foods. Milk can help to combat the burn but tbh I personally just take gavascon as I hate milk! I normally carry a big bottle with me at the end of pregnancy because it's a bit rubbish if you can't eat or drink what you want (within reason 😉😉) x

TheFoz · 30/07/2020 21:24

Greasy food, as in sausages and bacon give me heartburn so I keep away from them as much as possible.

I had a scan this morning at the EPU. Saw baby’s heartbeat 💗 such a relief! Measuring one day behind my dates. I’m back again in 4-5 weeks when I’ll be 12-13 weeks pregnant.

ChilternsHan · 30/07/2020 21:41

Hi all, been following along for a while and now joining in. First timer!

I've had my booking in appointment but no sign of a scan date yet. I'm curious about the weeks people are using - are these from LMP? Every time I think I have my head around it I'll then see a website date it from ovulation instead. I've an early private scan booked on Sat - I'll be 8 weeks based on LMP, but 6 since I suspect I ovulated...have I jumped the gun or is that ok?! No idea what to expect!

@Taylortyler I had no idea I wanted apple juice until you said it!

Glad the fruit discussion has been cleared up - I've never wanted fruit as badly as I do at the moment.

Taylortyler · 30/07/2020 21:48

@ChilternsHan cravings are the biggest symptom I've had so far! The first was olives and I don't like olives!!

I self referred for the midwife and have heard nothing so I'll just wait and see.
I'm going by date of last period because absolutely no idea when I ovulated and was genuinely not expecting to get pregnant as I have PCOS so was told it'd be more difficult- but we got super lucky!

ChilternsHan · 30/07/2020 22:34

So weird to crave something you don't like!

My midwife appointment was a bit of a fluke, she called to book me in and both of us happened to be free there and then so just got it done. Only phone appointments at the moment.

I also have PCOS, I'm basing my weeks on trying to narrow it down with the clearblue digital tests and when we had sex - I could well be wrong but judging by when I first had symptoms I don't think I'm too far out Hmm

LuHen · 31/07/2020 07:07

@ChilternsHan I had an early scan and it was about 6.5 weeks since my LMP and was a good time to go- saw the heartbeat. Most likely (almost 100% sure) it will be an internal scan. It was totally fine, the probe is like a small dildo they say haha! Its long but only a small bit at the tip has to actually go inside. Totally fine and I'm a bit nervy with that sort of thing, key is to just relax your muscles. Im so glad i went for an early one after I had a little worry, put my mind at ease for a little while anyway xxx

Sussexbysea · 31/07/2020 07:59

Morning all!!

I’ve woken up today craving a chip butty. It’s so random. I’ll probably end up taking a walk to the chippy at lunch time so satisfy my craving. And then I’ll suffer all the heartburn 🤣

I have had a lovely smoothie this morning though. I’m going to try and have 3 green smoothies a week, but I’m a bit funny with consistencies at the moment

Hey everyone! I had a scan yday that confirmed I am indeed 7+2 - I have very irregular cycles and the midwife was concerned I was much further on based on LMP but I was tracking ovulation so was very sure of when we conceived.
Anyway, it was amazing seeing our tiny little baby in there and it’s heartbeat, we could see a really defined shape already and it’s spine etc. And bonus is it was a wee extra scan ☺️

Hope everyone is doing well, just wanted to wish anyone who has upcoming scans luck as I was a complete bag of nerves yesterday morning!

DSP21 · 31/07/2020 08:17

@Eppy123 This sounds amazing, and what I imagine to be such a surreal experience! I have my scan on Monday where i'll be 6+2, so I'm hoping it won't be too early to see a little heartbeat!

Jebbs · 31/07/2020 08:52

Slight moment on panic this morning when I ended up with a stabbing pain in my side and dizziness. It's all gone away again though still slightly shaky/dizzy (that might just be the shock/after effects). Not a good way to start the day.
Just want to curl up and sleep but instead sitting in an office trying to get through a big pile of work. At least it might help distract me.... maybe?
Definitely don't remember this from last time round.

Shinygreenelephant · 31/07/2020 09:00

@Eppy123 I’m 7+2 today as well! Are you due on 17th March? Congratulations the scans amazing isn’t it, a little peanut with a heartbeat Smile

Clara9 · 31/07/2020 09:04

Congratulations all of you who have had good news at your scans. Mine isn’t until next Sunday and I am getting impatient now!

BabySweet85 · 31/07/2020 09:12

@Shinygreenelephant @Eppy123 my die date is March 17th too!

Was woken up in the middle of the night by cramping which has now eased. Feel hungover again!

Zenianna · 31/07/2020 09:15

Have we got any other teachers on here? My work has asked us to let them know if you are in any stage of pregnancy so that they can make coronavirus accommodations? How are other schools "accommodating" pregnant staff during the pandemic?

Sh4mmy · 31/07/2020 09:31

@KatyCherry23 @Sussexbysea whilst the pool looks inviting it's bloody Baltic so I left that to the kids whilst I topped up my tan 😂😂

Thankfully I've not really put on much weight, am just a bit fluffy around the edges! Once I know what's happening today I'll restart my weight training but with all that's going on I didn't want to put any more pressure on my body!

Oldermum80 · 31/07/2020 09:31

@Zenianna yep! I was 5 weeks pregnant when it all started and didn’t want to tell work but had to because of the risk assessment. I wasn’t allowed to go into school but I miscarried two weeks later. The guidance has changed a lot since then but I expect I’ll be back in and have to distance which will be difficult.
I’m not telling anyone as of yet as I’ve had two miscarriages now and can’t get an early scan this time so don’t feel comfortable until I know things are ok. I’ll be 10 weeks when we go back.

Sh4mmy · 31/07/2020 09:32

Morning everyone, hope you're all well!!

@Sussexbysea can't beat a chip butty, I live near the sea and so we have so many amazing chippies around is, we had fish and chips for dinner the other night, was lush!! Try gaviscon for heartburn, i swear by it

Sh4mmy · 31/07/2020 09:33

How are you doing @Oldermum80

Shinygreenelephant · 31/07/2020 09:38

@BabySweet85 amazing!! St Paddy’s Day would be a cool birthday ha.

@Zenianna I’m a teacher but didn’t want to go back full time after having my youngest so was doing supply - not much call for supply teachers recently funnily enough ha
