@Sussexbysea thanks for starting a new thread. How you doing today?

EmzG20 · 26/07/2020 07:08

@Sussexbysea
Thanks for starting a new one. How are you both feeling today

Sussexbysea · 26/07/2020 07:13

@Headingtowardsforty I’m ok thank you. More importantly, how are you? X

@bearcub01 @sussexbysea what about just adding us to the existing fb group?

Also: strong vote for it to be a secret fb group (like the one I have for my DS) not a private one. I don’t want anyone finding out by noticing I’ve joined a private group even if they can’t see what’s in it! Grin

I have my Harmony test booked for end August, now just got to choose a hospital as we’ve moved since we had our first, plus I had a dreadful time with him so don’t want to repeat that...big dilemma...

Headingtowardsforty · 26/07/2020 07:23

@Sussexbysea I'm okay, bleeding seems no worse and no cramps as such. The pain is back in my hip slightly, but not awful. Another day of waiting to get through tho.

Sussexbysea · 26/07/2020 07:27

I read that as long as you don’t fill pad, it’s a good sign. But the doctors and midwives know best xx

Sussexbysea · 26/07/2020 07:28

@Headingtowardsforty it’s such a shame that you have to wait till tomorrow. It’s like they aren’t open for scans at the weekend?? Crazy really

OP posts:
EmzG20 · 26/07/2020 07:31

@Sussexbysea I'm good thanks. Woken with some cramping this morning but hopefully it will ease off

BabySweet85 · 26/07/2020 07:39

@Sussexbysea thanks for the new group!

@Headingtowardsforty glad its slightly better than yesterday.

@BlenheimOrange what is the harmony test?

Headingtowardsforty · 26/07/2020 07:48

@Sussexbysea it isn't filling a pad, but part of just wonders if it's postponing the inevitable. The epu is only open Monday to Friday in Haywards heath. I guess if I rocked up at a&e they might scan me, but no guarantee and don't feel it's bad enough to justify that. Couldn't bear the thought of going to just be told to go home again.

Sussexbysea · 26/07/2020 07:50

@Headingtowardsforty I think you did the right thing staying a way from hospital. Sitting a round for hours waiting to be scanned And especially with the COVID risk at the moment.

Sussexbysea · 26/07/2020 07:52

@BlenheimOrange I don’t know the Facebook group that’s already been set up. I’m happy to create one for us though

OP posts:
Headingtowardsforty · 26/07/2020 07:53

@Sussexbysea that's the thing, at least tomorrow I have an appointment booked and can go straight to epu. Whatever is going on isn't going to change just because I did or didn't go today. When I booked it they were very clear that if it is bright red or really heavy, then a&e, so far it isn't either of those.

Sussexbysea · 26/07/2020 08:08

@Headingtowardsforty it’s difficult but try and take that as a positive. Fingers crossed that tomorrow you’ll see a little heartbeat flicking away xx

Thanks for the new thread x

Headingtowardsforty · 26/07/2020 08:11

@Sussexbysea I do hope so. I am making myself coffee this morning to see if it still makes me sick. Part of me has given up, but part of me can't help still hoping there might be something there and this one is just trying to scare me.

jl90 · 26/07/2020 08:13

Hi All,

First of all, congratulations to everyone!

I'm new here and I had a positive pregnancy test on June 10th. I've only had a call with my GP and it was a very unhelpful call. Pretty much just said wait for your referral letter but I haven't received anything. I got another call afterwards but missed it as I was at work and I called back to the GP and receptionist just told me the GP probably accidentally called me again which I highly doubt so..

This is my first pregnancy and I'm getting really anxious...Just wondering when do you normally have the first appointment?

According to my calendar, I'm about 6 weeks pregnant now and I know I'm suppose to have my first antenatal appointment before 10 weeks?

Sussexbysea · 26/07/2020 08:23

Firstly, huge congratulations @jl90

A lot of hospital trusts you can refer yourself to the midwives. My experience for example, I referred myself and just over a week later the midwife called with an appointment to come and take bloods and have a chat with me at home.

Unfortunately, I’ve got COVID so it’s now a telephone appointment so she’ll be leaving all my paper work on the doorstep so we avoid any contact.

GP’s are so far removed from you when you’re pregnant because everything goes through the midwife. I’m all honesty, they don’t care and I’m glad they aren’t involved

Never thought I'd be grateful that my coffee has made me feel sick and I've had to leave half of it!

Babafarmer · 26/07/2020 09:56

@Headingtowardsforty I'm pleased everything seems to have settled down a bit for you. It's awful you have to wait until tomorrow the wait must be awful. I hope today goes quickly for you!

What time is your scan? X

Thank you for a new thread. I think it's a good idea so new people can join as I only joined yesterday. But I also like the idea of a Facebook group as I find it easier navigate and see topics. Xx

Jenw2018 · 26/07/2020 10:02

Heavier spotting today Sad trying to stay calm, have a bit of a headache but not really cramping. I don’t feel pregnant anymore. Calling my gp on Monday.
@Headingtowardsforty hope you’re ok, thinking of you

PowPurry · 26/07/2020 10:03

Placemarking on the new thread. I only just joined the last one.
With my DD in 2017 we got to nearly 20 threads on the May birth club. It was a huge source of support.
I don’t have Facebook unfortunately though.

Headingtowardsforty · 26/07/2020 10:06

@babafarmer the scan is at half 10, so at least not too long to wait in the morning, we'll have to leave here before 10 to get to the hospital.

@Jenw2018 hope things are okay for you. I thought the same, but nausea has kicked back in this morning. I know it's so hard to stay calm.
