Hi!
I very recently got my positive result after a FET. (This is my second child. First one conceived through a fresh cycle). Just wondered anyone in a similar position wanted to join, and help keep us calm until scan day!

I am only 4+2 weeks. Still so, so early. Can’t wait for my 7 week scan!

Hi @RosettaR welcome to the other side! Yes it is extremely tough waiting for that first scan. It is completely normal to feel super anxious but not pleasant to go through.

I don't think having OHSS can affect Hcg. Good that your stomach is going down too. I had it mildly after my first cycle so I know how uncomfortable it can be.

Xxx

ValidUser · 25/07/2020 10:50

@RosettaR it really doesn't help to have a dismissive clinic. Thinking of you. I've heard OHSS is extremely unpleasant! I do like your attitude on waiting, though.

ValidUser · 25/07/2020 10:51

@BeHereNowx32 how are you this morning?

BeHereNowx32 · 25/07/2020 11:29

@ValidUser I’ve only had tiny bit of bleeding this morning. So, just staying calm for now! I have been starving. So hopefully a good sign.
How are you?

ValidUser · 25/07/2020 12:13

@BeHereNowx32 first time I felt really sick was this morning. Unpleasant, but exciting.

ValidUser · 25/07/2020 12:28

Quite annoyed. I'm on innohep. Just went to the pharmacy. Think the guy forgot to order it. (He said something about a supplier but mumbled and looked away.)

I ordered it on Wednesday, so there was loads of time. I'm not on it for fun. And the other customers were not social distancing well!

End of rant.

Pinktruffle · 25/07/2020 13:19

@BeHereNowx32 I had a lot of bleeding from week 8 to week 12. It stopped and started but was bright red and heavy at times. I'm not 22+3 and things are going swimmingly, try not to worry!
I had a scan at the EPU because of previous miscarriage and they said it was due to clots in my lining under the baby, baby wasn't effected at all. Putting pessaries when your bleeding is not a lot of fun but so grateful to be where I am right now.

ValidUser · 25/07/2020 14:00

My digital test just went to 3+ weeks. It's only been on 2-3 since Monday!

I'm 19 days after egg collection, 14 after transfer.

@ValidUser that is a good strong hcg result! I think the threshold is something like 2500 to go to 3+ weeks.

@BeHereNowx32 glad bleeding has slowed down.

Xxx

BeHereNowx32 · 25/07/2020 14:33

@Pinktruffle what a stress for you. I’m glad all is ok.

@ValidUser that’s good news! I haven’t tried a HPT yet.

@Janefx40 hope your results were ok

Had a sleep today, but I am sooo drained now. Feel quite weak. X

elleceedee · 25/07/2020 14:37

Wow @ValidUser that's great news! I think I got 3+ at maybe 18 or 19 days past transfer! Did you have one embryo or two transferred?

@BeHereNowx32 sorry you've had bleeding, it's so scary isn't it? I've had a lot of brown spotting with this pregnancy and read quite a lot about it - it is more common to have bleeding in IVF pregnancies for some reason and the majority of times is absolutely nothing to worry about. My nearest EPU wouldn't see me for brown spotting but if you've had fresh blood you might be able to self refer to your nearest EPU if you are still worried.

Congratulations @RosettaR although sorry to hear you've been so uncomfortable, glad your stomach is going down a bit now.

Janefx40 · 25/07/2020 14:38

@BeHereNowx32 your body is busy! It makes you tired.

Yes my blood results are good. Bean still growing ok. They are scanning me on Monday to check location of pregnancy but will be too early to see anything else.

X

BeHereNowx32 · 25/07/2020 14:47

@Janefx40 that’s fab that they are keeping a close eye on you. Yeah, hopefully me feeling so rubbish is actually good for now ☺️

@elleceedee thank you. I will definitely phone if anymore worry. X

OP posts:
ValidUser · 25/07/2020 14:48

@Janefx40 yes, it is about that! Looked it up for specifics and it says 2753.

@elleceedee two! And only because they were early blastocysts and I was afraid the second wouldn't make it to freeze. I wonder if one or both implanted. I do feel sick today, and finding it reassuring!

Might ask for a beta at my gp on Monday, but might be pointless as I can't get a second one done to check progression (time off work. And I've a scan on the 5th anyway.).

ivfdreaming · 25/07/2020 14:52

Hey everyone sorry I've been quiet - had a nice week I'm Cornwall to relax with no phone signal 🤣

@MorgenMuffel @elleceedee
Great news on your scans!

@ValidUser that's great getting 3+ so soon - I got mine at around 16dp5dt and I'm currently 9 weeks with twins from a double transfer - a hatching 5BA and a day 5 4BB

Just got my letter for my 12 week scan - 13th August - still not partner allowed though

ValidUser · 25/07/2020 14:55

@ivfdreaming interesting...

ivfdreaming · 25/07/2020 15:03

My only symptom is tiredness and having a very noticeable bump already - I had to start wearing my old maternity trousers and leggings from around 7-8 weeks 😬

ValidUser · 25/07/2020 15:05

@ivfdreaming I'm super bloated and have a bump, but it's more of a food baby than anything...

LemonRabbit · 25/07/2020 16:24

Welcome @RosettaR. Yes, I think a lot of us on here are pretty anxious. We’re now on a new countdown to scans!

This is my first pregnancy and I have been reading stuff about what to eat/not eat/ what to do/not do etc. Just looking for some advice...

I love sleeping on my back, but apparently you’re not meant to do that from 3 months onwards. Anyway I’ve been sleeping on my side, so that it’s not such a shock as doing it suddenly, but I find it so uncomfy. I know you can buy “pregnancy” pillows, but I don’t quite feel at that stage. Any tips?

Also, how much are people exercising (if at all) and what are you doing? I’ve read guidance that says 30 minute walk 4 times per week. That seems so little to me. I used to go jogging (before ivf treatment) which I don’t do now. Technically you’re allowed to run about 8 miles per week I think, but other sources say it’s not recommended. I don’t mind just walking, but want to do probably about an hour 5 times pw. I do have a bike, but don’t want to risk falling!

ivfdreaming · 25/07/2020 16:28

@ValidUser

I thought that until the food baby kept growing bigger 🤣

ivfdreaming · 25/07/2020 16:30

@LemonRabbit

I'm usually a front sleeper but because I'm getting so big already I've had to change to side sleeping - it's recommended to sleep on your left so I've had to kick DH out of his usual side! 🤣

Exercise wise I'm so tired but this last week whilst I've been away I've been doing lots of coastal walks so will try and keep up a daily walk and when the swimming pools open will go back to a weekly swim

I don't feel comfortable running anymore or anything more "active" due to my ever expanding bump

RosettaR · 25/07/2020 17:51

@LemonRabbit I read the main thing with exercise is that you should be able to hold a conversation, so not to get out of breath. I was planning on doing some walks but not too strenuous, so no mountains, and I'll probably stick to under 5 miles. I've not got the energy to do more than about 2 at the moment though.

Something I was wondering is, I've been eating tonnes of protein for IVF. Do I keep that up now or can I let it drop to more normal levels? I'm scared to make any changes as the embryo was obviously OK with my IVF diet. What are you ladies doing?

My stomach pains have settled down to an ache, like period pains. It's made me pretty worried but reading old mumsnet threads suggests it's fairly common and not to worry unless it gets worse or are accompanied by bleeding.

BeHereNowx32 · 25/07/2020 17:53

@LemonRabbit by the time I got to 12 weeks it was really uncomfortable to lie on my back. The weight was too much. I didn’t get a pregnancy pillow until later on, but wish I got it earlier. It’s impossible to get comfy once you’re heavily pregnant!

I just walk. I have never done strenuous exercise lol. So not sure there x

OP posts:
ivfdreaming · 25/07/2020 18:38

@RosettaR

I'm keeping up with the high protein diet I was doing before (although it all went out the window the last week on holiday 🤣)

Janefx40 · 25/07/2020 18:44

I always thought the protein was for the eggs. My clinic suggest it for IVF but didn't for FET. I'm sure it does no harm tho.

I would really like to start running again but I won't because I don't want to risk anything. I'd finally got to where I wanted after years of false starts. I always wanted to get running but never got anywhere with it until this past year and it feels frustrating to be losing my fitness and going back to square one. But big picture this is way more important I know!
