Hi!
I very recently got my positive result after a FET. (This is my second child. First one conceived through a fresh cycle). Just wondered anyone in a similar position wanted to join, and help keep us calm until scan day!

I am only 4+2 weeks. Still so, so early. Can’t wait for my 7 week scan!

@Leegray80 can't say I've had that issue before, sorry. I've only ever had cyclogest though as progesterone support so you may be on something different.

Quick one from me - had my scan and everything looking ok! It was wonderful to see the heartbeat but just a shame DH could not be there. Hope you have good news at your scan later @MorgenMuffel

MorgenMuffel · 24/07/2020 12:21

@elleceedee such wonderful news ❤ are you going to book a private one do you think?

elleceedee · 24/07/2020 12:43

@MorgenMuffel thank you! Yes will definitely be booking a private scan around week 9 or 10 - I've previously had great 7 week scans and then gone on to miscarry or have bad news at the 12 week scan so feel like I need another scan for my own peace of mind (and for DH to - hopefully - see a little heartbeat too!).

Janefx40 · 24/07/2020 13:00

@elleceedee yay!!! Great news. So exciting. Must have been such a relief to see that heartbeat. Xxx

Janefx40 · 24/07/2020 13:02

@Leegray80 if you're taking cyclogest I would recommend taking them rectally. Once you get over the slight ickiness of that (I use gloves), it is much better - it doesn't seep out, it doesn't cause infections and it is absorbed more easily. I'm not sure about crinone as never had it!

Hi all

I’m also pregnant following a successful FET in June. It’s our first pregnancy after years of trying and I didn’t really anticipate how anxious I would be feeling, even though I’ve never been pregnant before this I’m so worried I won’t make it to a live birth. I found a private scan place not too far from me and now the challenge is not to book a scan every week whilst I wait for the NHS one!

Congrats to everyone on their BFP

I also recommend cyclogest through the back!

ValidUser · 24/07/2020 13:53

Hello again! Looks like my first scan is on the 5th at 6+2. Mainly to see if there's one or two and make sure they didn't go travelling up my tube.

Janefx40 · 24/07/2020 14:51

@ValidUser great to have a scan date. It'll be hard to wait tho!

@Snorlax86 welcome. This is my second pregnancy but my first (after two rounds of IVF) was the most anxious time of my life. I definitely wasn't expecting that either. You are so focused on that BFP that you don't realise what comes next could be hard too.

Congratulations on your pregnancy and if you can afford it, go ahead and book a weekly scan!!! Last time I had scans at weeks 6,7,8,10,12,16,20 and then every 4 weeks. So you'll get no judgement from me!!

BeHereNowx32 · 24/07/2020 15:38

@elleceedee lovely news about your scan! That’s great. Think it’s good idea to do a private scan, and I will probably do the same.

@Janefx40 hope DD is feeling better.

Hi to the newcomers! I am not doing great with keeping up with messages today. The tiredness is strong today. I just had to have a nap. I will try catch up at some point.

X

Welcome @Snorlax86

@ValidUser its lovely to get the date, makes it feel a bit more real. Not too long to wait either.

All went well at my scan today. Little monkey was wriggling around loads, but so lovely to see the heartbeat again, and how much it has grown! Feeling very relieved and even a bit excited...makes a change from anxious.

BeHereNowx32 · 24/07/2020 20:27

Great news 👏 @MorgenMuffel

That's great news @MorgenMuffel - that must have been so exciting for you both!

Xxx

This thread is bringing back such happy memories for me. This time last year I was having my 7 week scan following IVF. I was so nervous but the moment I saw the heartbeat was the best of my life and I get teary just thinking about the moment the sonographer turned the screen to us and said ‘meet your baby’. It was many more weeks before we shared the news with anyone else. She is now asleep upstairs. Science is truly amazing and now I’ve been through it all the way I can say IVF is the best thing I’ve ever had the privilege to be involved with.

We told no one about the IVF (and still haven’t) but I do recommend telling all medical professionals. One of the defining memories of my labour is hearing the midwife say ‘all babies are special but IVF babies are extra special’ and they really are.

Good luck to all of you.

Thank you for the lovely post @BlueLadybird it really is amazing how it works x

@Leegray80
I had sharp pain in tummy when I coughed. Apparently that can happen with pregnancy...it’s your ligaments stretching! Not had the other feeling though. My clinic did say not to put the pessaries in too deep or it can irritate the cervix. Not sure this sounds like your issue though.

@elleceedee @MorgenMuffel
That sounds great today. Glad everything looked ok. It must be a relief! I can’t wait for my scan.

BeHereNowx32 · 25/07/2020 00:19

I just had some bleeding. It’s was a tiny amount, but I am completely panicking. 😞 x

ValidUser · 25/07/2020 01:06

@BeHereNowx32 it's terrifying. Happened to me soon after our positive pregnancy test and my husband and I were awake nearly all night. It's good that it's a tiny amount.

Thinking of you and hoping it stays away. x

BeHereNowx32 · 25/07/2020 06:41

@ValidUser thought I sent a nsssage, so sorry if it comes up twice. It does seem to happen to quite a few people. But I can’t help but worry. Will phone the fertility clinic this morning anyway, just incase.
Thanks. Hope you’re ok. Just saw that our scans are on the same day x

Janefx40 · 25/07/2020 06:42

@BeHereNowx32 hope you're ok. Bleeding is really scary even tho it can be totally normal in early pregnancy. Good plan to call the clinic. Fingers crossed everything will be well xxx

BeHereNowx32 · 25/07/2020 08:47

The nurse at the hospital thinks it’s likely just to be irritation from the pesseries and to phone if anything gets worse. Tempted to buy a pregnancy test, but not sure if that would help!

Hi everyone, and congratulations! I got my BFP on Thursday after IVF. All the worry has taken me completely surprise!

I've got mild OHSS which is quite uncomfortable. The clinic made me measure my huge stomach every day and it's started to slowly go down. But that's made me anxious too because I'm wondering if it means HCG isn't increasing as it should. I'm also getting all manner of stomach pains - some are probably OHSS and some constipation. The clinic were very dismissive!

My scan is at 8 weeks and I'm telling myself in ivf terms that's really not long to wait, we've all waited so long already!

@BeHereNowx32 I'm glad you got some reassurance! It's good it was only a small amount and it stopped.

BeHereNowx32 · 25/07/2020 10:16

@RosettaR congrats. So nice to see you here after your tough start. I know. We should definitely be used to all the waiting!
