Hi!
I very recently got my positive result after a FET. (This is my second child. First one conceived through a fresh cycle). Just wondered anyone in a similar position wanted to join, and help keep us calm until scan day!

I am only 4+2 weeks. Still so, so early. Can’t wait for my 7 week scan!

@ivfdreaming that's bizarre and fascinating. 😂

elleceedee · 28/07/2020 15:51

@ivfdreaming that's hilarious about your cat! My sister's dog is like that - in fact that's how she found out I was pregnant with a previous pregmancy (subsequently lost that pregnancy sadly) as I was visiting and the dog was going mad humping my legs and my sister says something like "oh that's weird, he only ever does that when someone is pregna... OMG!"

RosettaR · 28/07/2020 16:03

@LemonRabbit thanks for sharing! Can I ask if you're using the passaries to treat it? The GP told me not to as it would be hard to do multiple different passaries at once. Not sure if it will work with just the cream.

@ValidUser @elleceedee @ivfdreaming loving the dog and cat stories! I am seeing parents and parents in law and their dogs at the weekend so I will see if they act differently! I will be a bit disappointed now if not ...

LemonRabbit · 28/07/2020 16:45

@RosettaR
Don’t know the answer to that. Ideally you want to treat it internally too though. I just got prescribed the cream, but I was really stupid and stopped using it after about a day and a half and have now had to start again.
I know if you’re pregnant you’re not supposed to take the tablets, but I’m not sure about pessaries. I think it would be worth checking with your ivf clinic.
In answer to what you said about it would“ be hard to do multiple pessaries” ...well yes but not impossible! I’d be more worried about the interaction between the two, but I have no knowledge about if that is an issue or not. If my symptoms don’t clear up (again) then I’ll be asking about this too! Let me know how you get on.

ivfdreaming · 28/07/2020 18:15

You can all borrow my cat! Seriously he's out of control - I've renamed him Hugh bloody Hefner - maybe it's having twins and double the hormones is driving him crazy

He was the same whenever I did a hcg trigger shot - ovitrelle made him so bloody horny🤣

Got to give it to the little guy he's got some stamina - he's at it for ages 🤣

On the thrush issue i always got it after having all the stimming scans due to the gel they use - to be honest the cream doesn't work for me - pretty sure the pessaries are ok during pregnancy. Just not the tablets. I'd maybe switch to doing progesterone the "back" way whilst doing the thrush pessaries

ValidUser · 28/07/2020 18:21

If this thread had a descriptive name, it might be "randy cats and giving progesterone the back way"

ivfdreaming · 28/07/2020 18:35

@ValidUser
Sometimes I think if anyone overheard some of the going's on in our house we'd be put in the loony bin 🤣

One day i yelled really loudly (I blame the hormones!) whilst neighbours were in the garden that if I could remember to shove half a dozen different medications into several different orifices DH could bloody remember one measly pre conception vitamin. Neighbours have avoided us since 🤣

elleceedee · 28/07/2020 20:16

@ValidUser that made me laugh, perfect thread title Grin

BeHereNowx32 · 29/07/2020 07:03

This thread took a turn haha.
My dog is the opposite. He likes to cuddle up to my belly when I’m pregnant 🥰 tries to hump me when I’m on my period. So good to get a break from that lol

Hope everyone well! I’m 6 weeks today x

BeHereNowx32 · 29/07/2020 07:25

@Janefx40 good luck for today. ❤️
I’m stupidly googling my hcg level. Wish I wasn’t told the number! X

OP posts:
Janefx40 · 29/07/2020 07:31

Thanks @BeHereNowx32 just waiting for blood test now. I'll get the results around 11am probably and then we will know whether this is progressing or not. Am quite crampy so just hoping that is normal and not a sign of this failing.

Don't worry about your hcg level. It was fine when you were tested so it is probably fine now! As the clinic said to me "step away from google"! I'm such a hypocrite of course...I'm a google machine

As we've said before it is a mixed blessing having so much monitoring!!

BeHereNowx32 · 29/07/2020 07:33

@Janefx40 definitely! I didn’t know the level with my DD and that was so much better.
Wishing all the love and luck fur your results. I’ve had cramping on and off X

Janefx40 · 29/07/2020 09:13

Wish I had a randy dog or cat around...then I wouldn't have to wait for the clinic to ring with blood results!!! (Weak attempt at humour while I try not to fall apart waiting for this phone call!)

BeHereNowx32 · 29/07/2020 10:35

Oh not long left now @Janefx40 🤞
I’ve eaten pancakes, toast and a bit steak pie already this morning... 🙄🙄 xx

OP posts:
RosettaR · 29/07/2020 11:40

@Janefx40 best of luck with your phone call!

@LemonRabbit @ivfdreaming the clinic have said I'm not allowed to use the canesten passaries while I'm still being treated, so that's another three weeks! Hoping the cream alone can get rid of it but I'm very doubtful.

LemonRabbit · 29/07/2020 11:58

@BeHereNowx32
Sounds like a cracking breakfast! Congrats on being 6w today. Smile
Try not to worry about hcg level. Unless you’d been on the very minimum then it’s fine. From what I’ve read there’s no rhyme or reason to it. Some people have higher, some lower. Some people start lower, but it rises more rapidly. I think it only makes a bit more sense when the increase is measured, but then that hasn’t reassured @Janex40 either. I wish I hadn’t posted what mine was, but I was worried about it too.
@Janefx40
Hope blood results are reassuring today.

I have my 7w scan on Friday. I can’t wait! The countdown hasn’t been quite as bad as 2ww, but it has nevertheless been a why does time pass soooo slowly? countdown. I know the main thing is to look for a heartbeat and that little Pip is in the right place. Please let it be ok!! Any ladies that have had 7w scan (recently or previously) do you find out anything else? Is there anything I should ask?
A bit of me doesn’t want to go if it’s bad news. I’ve really (anxiously) enjoyed being pregnant and I suppose felt some relief that our ivf journey is making real progress.

LemonRabbit · 29/07/2020 12:01

@RosettaR
Thanks for the update! Cream has been working a treat for me. Hope it works for you.

BeHereNowx32 · 29/07/2020 12:08

@LemonRabbit I know. It’s just the nerves before the scan. I would have it regardless!

If all is ok, they will discharge you from the fertility clinic. They give you a number to phone your midwife, and then you will be under their care. They also give you your due date. That’s all I can remember. After the scan, everything else was really quick!
I phoned my midwife that same afternoon :)
They will print out a picture of scan for you too.
Good luck! So exciting
Are you still feeling little with symptoms? (I’m not overanalysing! Just curious 😉😉)

Thinking of you @Janefx40

Is anyone else really struggling with the house work? My house is a mess!! I just sleep when I get spare time. It’s awful lol. I’ll try sort something once DD sleeps.

LemonRabbit · 29/07/2020 12:13

Some of the animal chat is hilarious! A lot of randy cats around!
They do say animals have a sixth sense. My cat is really not bothered. He still treats me like a servant, which is fine!
I remember reading an article about Shannen Doherty (actress - I know her as “Prue” from Charmed buts that’s going back!) saying in an interview that before she was diagnosed with breast cancer, her dog was always sniffing and trying to scratch her chest. It actually alerted her to the problem.

LemonRabbit · 29/07/2020 12:19

@BeHereNowx32
Thanks for message about next steps.
Well I spent a big chunk of yesterday feeling nauseous and boobs have been sore too.
I don’t know if this is partly the nausea, but I’ve been finding it hard to eat a full meal. I need to come back and have more later. It’s like I suddenly feel so full and a bit sick. Weird!
How about you?

BeHereNowx32 · 29/07/2020 12:24

@LemonRabbit good signs 👍
I’m so so tired. So napping during the day, then bed at 8pm. Having times where I’m really really hungry. And was getting pains in my boobs, but nothing today. No sickness yet, but I was 7 weeks when I felt that last.
Tbh, I still don’t feel like it’s anything too obvious. I don’t sleep well at night, which could make me tired.

It’s good to feel sick, because it’s the most obvious pregnancy symptom 😅 but hopefully you don’t feel too bad with it xx

OP posts:
LemonRabbit · 29/07/2020 13:33

@BeHereNowx32
I’m very tired too! I ended up napping from 6-9pm last night. Awful! Ended up going to actual bed at about 1am!

ivfdreaming · 29/07/2020 14:17

@BeHereNowx32

At my 7 week scan they checked the CRL length that the babies were measuring roughly the right dates and also checked the heart rate then out the info on a discharge letter

Mine let me take lots of photos of the ultrasound screen and also take videos of the heartbeats

I had already registered with my midwife and actually had that appointment over the phone before my scan x

Janefx40 · 29/07/2020 16:50

My tests are still a bit inconclusive - honestly feel glad your clinic don't freak you out with endless numbers!!!

I'm sure all will be well but am going to check out of Mumsnet for a while. I find that online forums can be really helpful but there are times when I have to take a break and fill my head with other things.

Lots of love and luck to you all

Xxx

MorgenMuffel · 29/07/2020 19:11

What are everyone's plans re cyclogest/other meds they are taking? My clinic advised taking them until 12 weeks, which I am tomorrow, but my scan isn't until 12+5 - so part of me thinks carry on until then? I'm horrendously bloated and burpy, so really want to stop them as think the extra progesterone can only be contributing to it, but if something were to be an issue I think I'd just beat myself up for stopping the drugs 'early' for vanity.

@elleceedee thanks, feeling a bit better now. Just wary that my chronic pain is only likely to get worse throughout pregnancy so worried that it's already getting bad - not sure how I'll be in 6 months time! My symptoms have come and gone too - and of course I have been massively worrying about it - but all was well at my scan last week, so completely normal.

@LemonRabbit @RosettaR hope the thrush is clearing up, it can be so uncomfortable so really feel for you both

@ValidUser just let the cat steal the dinner next time!! Loving the thread title though haha. Sadly no animals here as DH is allergic (and I haven't yet persuaded him to live in the shed!)

@BeHereNowx32 good luck for your scan. At mine they checked it was in the right place, right length and had a heartbeat. I got a little report and some photos. I then had to speak to the IVF nurses and they confirmed what meds I needed to carry on taking and sorted the prescriptions etc. They offered me the option of another scan at 10 weeks (for extra cost) but said after 10 weeks they would consider me "discharged". As my clinic was private all the midwife stuff etc. I had to do myself - but easy enough to find out from a quick google and my Dr website, it was a simple online referral form.

@Janefx40 sorry to hear you've had a worrying few days and that things aren't clear for you at the moment. Completely understandable that you need a break though - take care and hope to see you back on here when you are ready.
