Hi!
I very recently got my positive result after a FET. (This is my second child. First one conceived through a fresh cycle). Just wondered anyone in a similar position wanted to join, and help keep us calm until scan day!

I am only 4+2 weeks. Still so, so early. Can’t wait for my 7 week scan!

@RosettaR

Great news! I noticed you call him "he" does that mean you are having boys!? 💙 💙

I first felt movements around 18 weeks but it's normal to feel things earlier when it's not a first pregnancy. They really started moving around 22 weeks I think.
My placenta is low too which just means definite c section - but I was already having one anyway x

RosettaR · 12/11/2020 21:52

@ivfbeenbusy yes they are boys! I think most of my family and my husband's family were hoping for girls so I feel a bit bad for them!

I am a definite for a c section, I've got a whole list of reasons to go that way!

ivfbeenbusy · 12/11/2020 22:00

@RosettaR

Always frustrates me when family have a preference - especially when they are IVF babies - we as mothers are just happy to be able to have healthy babies to bring home! I'm
Looking forward to having a boy - although choosing boys names is soooo hard!

thefishthatcouldwish · 13/11/2020 07:39

Hi all just a quick question. I am 11 weeks and a day today.

Can morning sickness suddenly come back? The last few days I’ve felt increasingly sick. Yesterday morning I was sick after water.

I feel so nauseous this morning.

I had sickness that slowly felt better the week before last and fine last week.

Now
I’m worrying something is wrong

RosettaR · 13/11/2020 18:33

@ivfbeenbusy boys names are a nightmare! My theory is that there just aren't enough of them. So every boys name is either the name of someone I dislike, or I just don't like the sound of the name itself.

@thefishthatcouldwish that sounds pretty normal to me, not that I'm an expert. I think it's normal for morning sickness to continue to week 14, so you are still quite early for it to have gone away completely. I think pregnancy symptoms can come and go in general. You could call the midwives or NHS 111 though if it gets worse over the weekend or if you're worried.

ivfbeenbusy · 13/11/2020 19:57

@thefishthatcouldwish

With my DD I only got morning sickness/evening sickness at around 14 weeks and then I only really threw up a couple of times so I think it's normal to Have symptoms suddenly start in the second trimester

@RosettaR

My DH can't agree on any boy names - well there is one I really really want but DH isn't keen but I'm on the verge of saying that since I'm doing all the bloody work here then I get to choose the name. But then I've already called dibs on the girl name as want to use a family
Name so that would leave DH with just middle names to choose 🤣 But now that I think about it ALL the children will have HIS surname so maybe that gives me rights over first and second names! 🤣🤣

thefishthatcouldwish · 14/11/2020 11:02

Thanks both for the advice am between doctors at the moment. My house move 5 years ago had caught up on me.

The new doctors have a very very bad reputation. The one doctor has the nickname of The Doctor of Death due to misdiagnosis.

Am 12 weeks tomorrow. 12 week scan not until week on Tuesday

ivfbeenbusy · 19/11/2020 18:20

Heya hope everyone doing ok?

Had my 26 week growth scans and twins whilst small have grown consistently so feel a bit better. Next scan is in a month when will probably get more info on when they'll book me in for delivery

Parkandride · 20/11/2020 09:34

Glad they're growing well @ivfbeenbusy

Not too long until scan now @thefishthatcouldwish are you feeling less sickly now?

I've joined a spin off FB group from here for babies due at the same time, really useful but sometimes highlights the difference I still feel having an IVF pregnancy, seeing people refer to 20 scan as the gender scan and going into it so excited to find out. I'm here googling every condition they check for and how serious they are. Also all the shopping and nursery decorating etc, I'm just still not really believing its real. The anxiety just hasn't really left though is loads better than the early days.
2 weeks until 20 week scan

ivfbeenbusy · 20/11/2020 09:49

@Parkandride

I do think infertility and having had past losses takes a lot of excitement away from pregnancy. Especially in the early weeks. I didn't start buying or planning anything really until after 20 weeks too and more like 24 weeks x

Parkandride · 20/11/2020 10:59

Yup just a shame with all the black Friday deals, thats a few days before my scan!

ivfbeenbusy · 20/11/2020 13:22

@Parkandride

What I did was say was a lot of them were gifts and get gift receipts as usually anything bought this time of year you get extended returns on until January x

RosettaR · 22/11/2020 17:26

@ivfbeenbusy I'm so glad your twins look to be growing well! Mine seem consistent too, the fear is there for every scan though.

@Parkandride I'm 21 weeks and still too scared to buy things really. I need to start soon though. It's the fear from infertility but also this pregnancy is so scary that I find it hard to think past the pregnancy to the bit that comes next. I have made a big list though of things I will buy, I enjoyed doing that. Its just progressing to actually buying feels wrong!

Our big project at the moment is getting rid of stuff. Our spare room has been our storage room for ages so we're having to be really ruthless.

Not long until your scan now @thefishthatcouldwish. Best of luck, the 12 week scan is lovely if all is OK but I remember the fear!

ivfbeenbusy · 22/11/2020 18:05

@RosettaR

It sounds bad but I've been going through a stage of only buying things 50% at a time in case I lose one - ie I need 2 isofix for the car but could only bring myself to buy one and only just this week ordered the second one. I put one cot up a couple of weeks ago and only just put the second one up today. Anxiety still high and feel like I'm wishing my life away/wishing this pregnancy to be over quicker to get to the next scan and closer to having them home

Have you started to feel movements yet?

My bump is very big abs hard now (27 weeks) - I regularly get comments that I look "ready to drop" and laugh (or cry!) and say nope at least 10 more weeks to go. The sofa has a permanent me shaped dent in it as I can barely
Move from it! 🤣

RosettaR · 23/11/2020 09:14

@ivfbeenbusy I am definitely wishing this pregnancy past, I know I won't go past 34 weeks because of the growth restriction, but I'm praying I get that far without anything getting worse.

I have been feeling some movements, literally just in the past few days. I really love feeling them, it feels like they're talking to me.

I should probably be taking it easier than I am ... I went on a 4 mile walk yesterday and my bump started feeling all tight and crampy. I was pretty sure it was just muscles and I didn't meet the criteria for triage so ill try to speak to a midwife today. I think the sofa is looking like a good idea for future weekends!

ivfbeenbusy · 23/11/2020 11:04

@RosettaR

You did well to do 4 miles! My limit was about 1.5 miles on the school run until about 18 weeks - couldn't manage it after then without being in loads of pain after that

My notes now state SIGR single inuterine growth restriction so I'm Not expecting to go past 34 weeks either

RosettaR · 23/11/2020 21:01

@ivfbeenbusy sorry you've ended up with a sIUGR diagnosis and likely 34 week prospects too. I found it hard at first to accept the best case scenario was 34 weeks and NICU ... I've got used to the idea now I think, I'm sure it will be really hard though.

Still getting weird twinges around my bump so I think I will take it much easier from now! Maybe no more 4 mile walks for me ...

cakecakecheese · 23/11/2020 22:28

I'm 7 weeks today and I finally get my scan on Wednesday. The wait has been worse than the 2ww!

RosettaR · 24/11/2020 09:40

@cakecakecheese congratulations and good luck for tomorrow, not long to wait now. It is a tense moment, I was too scared to look at the screen and then when I did there were two little blobs which was a shock. Let us know how it goes.

thefishthatcouldwish · 24/11/2020 19:07

@cakecakecheese good luck for tomorrow.

Had 12 week scan today measured 13 and 3 days.

All looked good but bean wouldn’t play ball and move so combined test unavailable.

ivfbeenbusy · 24/11/2020 19:16

@thefishthatcouldwish

Great news about your scan! I had the same issue at my NHS scan so paid to have it done privately for £170 I think - they aren't under the same time pressure as the NHS abs just keep persevering until they get the measurements they need x

cakecakecheese · 25/11/2020 18:03

Scan went well, nice strong heartbeat!

RosettaR · 25/11/2020 19:32

Congratulations @cakecakecheese!

@thefishthatcouldwish that almost happened to me too, I'm lucky in that the sonographer sent me off for some brisk walking and then tried again. She was probably late for all subsequent patients! You could also consider NIPT privately. Or i think there is a later test on the NHS that uses some different measurements... the quadruple blood screening test its called.

Parkandride · 26/11/2020 21:57

So pleased to hear about two good scans @thefishthatcouldwish and @cakecakecheese hope they bring you a break from the nerves Smile

cakecakecheese · 27/11/2020 08:11

Thank you yes I'm so much calmer now.
