Hi!
I very recently got my positive result after a FET. (This is my second child. First one conceived through a fresh cycle). Just wondered anyone in a similar position wanted to join, and help keep us calm until scan day!

I am only 4+2 weeks. Still so, so early. Can’t wait for my 7 week scan!

@RosettaR

I was feeling relaxed about the whole Covid/visitors thing as DH and I don't really go anywhere but with numbers of cases rising I have started to get a bit twitchy! Parents were on about coming on the train to visit - I told them I'd rather they drove. I think naturally in the 3rd trimester when I'm too fat to do anything or go anywhere or even want to we ll naturally shield more but with DD starting school and having a new before/after school childminder I need to be realistic that she is mixing with multiple households therefore I can hardly say to family/friends not to visit for a couple of hours when DD is mixing with others all day everyday

Thanks for reply's,

111 have advised to contact clinic tomorrow as nothing they can do,
bleeding seems to have stopped for the moment and cramps subsided and no clots so trying to stay positive although I've had shoulder pain on and off for last week or so which can be sign of ectopic but the pains not in the tip more lower down

ivfbeenbusy · 06/09/2020 10:35

@Ijustlikefood

I've had two ectopics and both ruptured losing both tubes. Shoulder tip pain is the last pain you experience really before collapse - it's caused by internal bleeding reaching the diaphragm - in my experience the pain of rupture is unlike any pain I've ever felt and you definitely know about it before it gets to the shoulder pain point. My ectopics didn't have bleeding but I did have one sided pain - if you draw a horizontal line from your belly button across to your hip - that sort of location. Miscarriage pain on the other hand for me was much lower and more central where your uterus would be - a heavy dull feeling uterus tender to touch x

&ivfbeenbusy thank for reply shoulder pain is more an ache and comes and go, the cramping I had felt like period pains , still no more bleeding, it's uncomfortable putting in the pessaries I'm hoping that's as I'm feeling tense

ValidUser · 06/09/2020 13:33

@Ijustlikefood I had bleeding around 4 weeks when my period would have been due. Looked like the beginning of a period too. I'm 11 weeks tomorrow. I'm hoping you have a similar experience. It's scary.

Ijustlikefood · 06/09/2020 17:32

@validuser thanks for reply did your clinic ask your to retest , if so how many days did you have to wait until retesting

ValidUser · 06/09/2020 21:26

@Ijustlikefood this was technically still before my official test date, so I didn't contact them. But I had a box full of FRERs so was testing every day. Line continued to get darker.

Parkandride · 07/09/2020 11:43

Hope you're ok @Ijustlikefood it's so scary isn't it. I had some 1 sided pain and shoulder pain and was scared but was reassured as @ivfbeenbusy says that should be a final symptom. Ive also had bleeding but still doing ok, I have a group of friends who've all had ivf and every one had some bleeding, it is very common. Fingers crossed for you Flowers

Ijustlikefood · 07/09/2020 12:19

@parkandride thanks , spoke to my clinic this morning and been for blood tests to check my hcg levels, just waiting for the phone call now

Ijustlikefood · 07/09/2020 20:03

Blood levels look good, I'm going back Friday for internal scan , fingers crossed for Friday

BlueJayTO · 07/09/2020 20:43

Hello, tentatively posting for the first time. First pregnancy, 3 years since we started TTC, this is the 5th transfer from our first round of IVF for MFI (7 embryos from that cycle).

I’m currently 4+5, got a confirmed BFP on Saturday, and repeat bloods today show that my hcg has more than doubled. They want me back again on Wednesday for another test.

As we’ve had repeated implantation failure so far, I’m on steroids, intralipid infusions and blood thinning injections, on top of all the usual meds, so my bathroom cupboard is full to the brim! (I’m not currently in the UK so I don’t know if that is standard).

Keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well from here, as I know it is early days, but just relieved to finally have a BFP.

Good luck to all with your pregnancies and future treatment for those who have experienced losses.

ivfbeenbusy · 07/09/2020 22:05

@Ijustlikefood

Great news! What was your hcg level?

@BlueJayTO

Congratulations and welcome!

@BlueJayTO congratulations and welcome! Sorry to hear you've been through so many FETs to get this far, and fingers crossed it all goes well from here.

Thank you @RosettaR and @ivfbeenbusy.

Today’s blood work came back and things seem to be progressing well. Next appointment is an ultrasound at 6+1.

BlueJayTO · 09/09/2020 20:26

Great news @ValidUser

ValidUser · 09/09/2020 21:50

Thanks everyone. We're thrilled! 😊

Stassi · 10/09/2020 07:02

Hi everyone - it has been a while since I posted and I’ve had a name change. Had my 12 week scan yesterday at 13+0 weeks. I actually measured 13+5 which they said was ‘okay’ and the ‘top end of normal’ The NT was 3.2 which os higher than i would have liked. Feeling worried x

ivfbeenbusy · 10/09/2020 08:37

@Stassi

Who were you before?!
What have the doctors said are the next step? Harmony test or CVS/Amnio?
I know it's hard not to stress but the odds are still very much in your favour that everything will be fine with the baby x

Parkandride · 11/09/2020 06:36

Did anyone get a consultant appointment as they were ivf? I was told yesterday I'd get one, wondering what to expect

Hope you're feeling ok @stassi

ivfbeenbusy · 11/09/2020 07:45

I was consultant led for DD (high risk) and obviously for the twins as well (spoke to
Him yesterday) - to be honest I've generally found them pretty useless - they just ask how things are going, any concerns, they may say you aren't allowed to give birth in a midwife led unit (don't know if you were planning on that?) and that you have to have the baby in a larger hospital with consultants on standby

Ijustlikefood · 11/09/2020 18:39

Been for my scan today was very nervous as bleeding returned on Wednesday and was red and passed a small blood clot, all good today and they dated me at 6 weeks and we got to hear the heartbeat, they are happy as much as they can be at this point, no obvious signs for concern
Hopefully I can relax a little more now and fingers crossed for the next 6 weeks
