Hi!
I very recently got my positive result after a FET. (This is my second child. First one conceived through a fresh cycle). Just wondered anyone in a similar position wanted to join, and help keep us calm until scan day!

I am only 4+2 weeks. Still so, so early. Can’t wait for my 7 week scan!

@ivfdreaming that's lovely, and your dd was right! Have you told her?

Thanks for all the diet info as well. I'm eating fairly similar. I've not put on any weight and that's one of my worries, I struggle to put on weight and you need to put on so much with twins! Just hoping it will happen when it's needed, if I keep stuffing my face!

ivfdreaming · 27/08/2020 18:51

@RosettaR

Thankyou! Yes I have a very smug 4 year old today! She was never wrong before according to her - about anything so this will just make her worse! 🤣

MorgenMuffel · 27/08/2020 22:05

@ivfdreaming thats great news

Good luck to everyone having scans tomorrow.

I had my 16 week midwife appt today, got to hear baby's hearbeat Grin sounded like a galloping horse to me so old wives tale predicts a girl!

ivfdreaming · 27/08/2020 22:46

@MorgenMuffel

Great news! Midwives aren't doing face to face at 16 weeks in my area - even with twins it's telephone only 😬

Did she give you the heart rate?? My DD had to have weekly heart rate checks and hers was always really high (also an indicator of being a girl) and also sounded like galloping horses (so the old wives tales were true for her!)

Do you know what grade embryo you transferred? Having found out mine are boy/girl I suspect as the girl is the smaller one she was my day 6 4bb and the boy is the day 5 5ba which fits with the thinking that boy blastocysts are stronger and quicker in the first 5 days than girls hence why IVF has a slightly higher boy:girl birth rate as clinics tend to transfer the strongest grades ones first and work "backwards" in terms of blastocyst quality

Snorlax86 · 28/08/2020 09:00

That’s interesting re: boy/girl blastocysts @ivfdreaming I can’t actually remember the grade so will have to wait until the 20 week scan in Oct to find out!

Our area has been doing face to face appts with midwives and partners can come in for the scan. I did read that not every area checks with the heartbeat at 16w appt with a doppler though. It’s rubbish that there’s such a variation between the different Trusts.

Good luck to everyone have scans! X

Needtotalkivf19 · 28/08/2020 10:17

Thanks for telling me to join this group @ivfdreaming it’s lovely to see some familiar names. I am little bit behind some of you. I haven’t even had my first scan yet and it still two weeks away (I will be 7 1/2 weeks which I feels really late for first scan)
How did you all get cope waiting for the scan it driving me insane 🙃 I thought once seeing the 3+ on the clear blue which I took yesterday would make me feel better, it did but not for long lol.
Good luck for the ladies having scan today and and hope everyone else has a positive day too!! Xxx

ivfdreaming · 28/08/2020 10:23

@Needtotalkivf19

Welcome over here! I think there are few people having scans today around the same time 7 1/2 weeks but some have arranged earlier ones due to the stress. Seems pretty common with most clinics - I think they do it then so that the outcome is pretty definite by that point whereas if they do it at 6 weeks it could be too early to see a heartbeat and just cause more stress

Good sign that you got a 3+ at around 5 weeks though! I got mine at 5 weeks (16dp5dt/ 21 DPO) and that was with twins

Parkandride · 28/08/2020 12:50

Had a good scan! Tiny little thing with a heartbeat, in the right place and ovaries looking fine (so it they could stop hurting that would be great!) Thanks for the hand holding everyone Flowers

Welcome @needtotalkivf19 the wait is such a killer isn't it, my scan was 6weeks because of higher ectopic risk but at least you'll see a bit more a little further on. Hope it goes quickly

Ijustlikefood · 28/08/2020 13:18

Cautiously joining got BFP on Monday after FET from 5 day blast, still feeling a little surreal

During the 2WW advise was no swimming, does anyone know when its ok to start i forgot to ask my clinic both times I spoke to them this week

Scan is booked for WC 21st September

ivfdreaming · 28/08/2020 14:39

@Ijustlikefood

Welcome! Pretty sure my clinic said I could go back swimming at 12 weeks x

RosettaR · 28/08/2020 15:16

@ivfdreaming by that logic mine will definitely be boys, this embryo was described as "top top quality" by the embryologist, they made a really big deal of it possibly because it was the only one we had and they wanted to make us feel a bit more hopeful!

@Parkandride so glad your scan went well! My ovaries were still very enlarged on my scan, and like yours they still hurt. Looking back I think most of the pain that worried me in the early period was probably my ovaries rather than anything to do with the pregnancy.

My 16-week appointment seems to be in person, my booking in was on the phone but then with bloods and urine tests done in person (obviously!). It was surreal going to the hospital though, I didn't see any other patients in the maternity unit and it's a big hospital. A midwife and a nurse were there just for me.

@needtotalkivf19 I think it is better to have a slightly later scan if you can, that way you see more and by then there definitely should be a heartbeat. Apparently with earlier scans some people don't see a heartbeat and have to come back a week later to try again which must be stressful.

Welcome @ijustlikefood. It still doesn't feel real to me and I'm nine weeks now. Hopefully once I start feeling the babies moving it will!

PineappleC · 28/08/2020 17:31

@Parkandride glad your scan went well 😊

Not good news for me unfortunately. They couldn't find a gestational sac so it's not a viable pregnancy. They were concerned about ectopic so I was admitted to hospital for blood tests and things. My HCG levels were 20, so I guess the best I can hope for now is that the levels decrease and it's not ectopic.

Anyway, I'll say goodbye on this thread and may bump into you on another thread in the future. All the best with your pregnancies! 😊

Parkandride · 28/08/2020 17:51

I'm so sorry @pineappleC, this process is so shit and unfair sometimes, I really hope everything resolves quickly and next time is your lucky go Flowers

tikha · 28/08/2020 18:04

@PineappleC sorry to hear this.. Its really so tough.

@Parkandride glad your scan went well..

I am not a frequent poster.. but 7 weeks today and my scan is finally happening this upcoming Tuesday. Have had a loss following a transfer before so not really relaxed about it.

RosettaR · 29/08/2020 08:27

@PineappleC I'm so so sorry to hear that. This process is so random and cruel.

ivfdreaming · 29/08/2020 08:38

@PineappleC

So sorry to hear your news xx

ValidUser · 29/08/2020 13:46

@PineappleC I'm so sorry. x

MorgenMuffel · 30/08/2020 07:09

@PineappleC so sorry

Parkandride · 30/08/2020 08:01

Had a little bleeding this morning, just when I wiped. Just when you think you can relax a bit Sad
Trying to reassure myself that I've seen the heartbeat, and we did PGS so it's a chromosomally normal embryo. Still got sore boobs too.
Do you think it's likely to be the scan I had on Friday? I've put a pad on to monitor. I was discharged from the ivf clinic after the scan but don't have a midwife yet so I'm sure I can still give them a call

ivfdreaming · 30/08/2020 08:30

@Parkandride

I would think it is the scan - are you still doing any progesterone pessaries? They might also have irritated things?

Needtotalkivf19 · 30/08/2020 08:59

Thanks for all putting my mind at rest about me thinking my scan been late I think I’m just been inpatient lol.
@Ro198 I think your right if I went to early and didn’t see an heartbeat it would cause me to stress more than I am lol.
@ivfdreaming I was thinking of booking a private scan, but we don’t have any place close (closest is 45mins away) so have decided to wait till after the clinic then going to book one in between having nhs scan.
@PineappleC I’m sorry to hear your news, take plenty of time for yourself and all the best with whatever you decided to do in the future.
@Parkandride Glad your scan went well, and you got to hear a heartbeat, I bet that but your mind at rest a little.
Hope you all have a lovely Sunday xxx

RosettaR · 30/08/2020 09:29

@Parkandride I've had a tiny bit of bleeding twice now. The first time I was terrified, the second I didn't really worry. So if it's a really small amount you could just leave it, then again it wouldn't hurt to give your clinic a call of they are reachable at the weekend. My clinic did say I could still call them until I'd got registered with the midwives.

Parkandride · 30/08/2020 10:41

Thanks I'm just going to monitor it and try to stay positive
Yes still on pessaries @ivfdreaming good point they could be irritating
I did give them a call @rosettaR and they just said what I knew really, let them know if it gets worse etc. Glad your bleeding was over quickly, I know it's really common really- deep breaths!

PineappleC · 30/08/2020 10:45

Thanks everyone x

BabySweet85 · 01/09/2020 22:04
