Hi!
I very recently got my positive result after a FET. (This is my second child. First one conceived through a fresh cycle). Just wondered anyone in a similar position wanted to join, and help keep us calm until scan day!

I am only 4+2 weeks. Still so, so early. Can’t wait for my 7 week scan!

@PineappleC I'm glad the cramping and spotting have stopped! I only ever did one pregnancy test so I don't know about that, I'm sure they can be influenced by lots of things like how much you've drunk. When I was at that stage I tried to tell myself that unless you've had lots of bleeding (like a period's worth) the embryo is very likely still in there, so there's lots of hope.

ivfdreaming · 25/08/2020 15:17

@PineappleC

My RHR dipped at around 6 weeks too after increasing in my 2WW and from what I've read that's normal about this time

With a lot of testa once you're hcg levels get too high they can throw the tests off to the point the lines start to look lighter - I've read of 9 months pregnant women taking a test for a laugh and it coming up negative

PineappleC · 25/08/2020 15:54

Thanks so much @RosettaR and @ivfdreaming I really hope that's the case 😊

RHR-wise, my normal rate is about 41 (I'm a long distance runner). It climbed to about 60, and now has kinda tailed off at 50-53 since Sat. So I guess it could just be it levelling out as you said🤞🤞

Sorry to bring some negativity to the thread. I know you're all excited about your pregnancies and you should be! 😊👼 I will try and keep my stressing to a minimum until I find out either way at my scan 😊

RosettaR · 25/08/2020 16:42

I am perfectly capable of negativity, I'm mostly still terrified, every time I relax about something I just replace it with a different worry. My mum keeps telling me at some point the hormones will just carry you through and stop you worrying and I hope that happens soon!

Parkandride · 25/08/2020 16:42

Hi @pineappleC my heart rate dipped today too (2 less than yesterday) and I've been been in pieces, can I just say that the waiting fucking sucks. I know there's a million reasons for cramping and spotting so I'm so hopeful for you Flowers
Hoping your wise words are right @ivfdreaming I'm 5+4 so not far off 6 weeks, 3 days until my scan Sad

ValidUser · 25/08/2020 22:50

Hello @PineappleC. I remember you from other threads. Waiting is awful and I'm hoping all works out for you.

I had spotting at 4+5. My tests got lighter at 5+4, but my hCG continued to rise on bloods. May have been the beginning of the hook effect, but stressed me out. I'm 9+2 today. I'm really hoping you have a similar experience.

RosettaR · 26/08/2020 09:07

I've had a rubbish morning so far, threw up for the first time. My dinner last night was quite fatty (healthy fats of course lol...), and afterwards my stomach felt a bit uncomfortable overnight. While I was making my breakfast I got a sudden wave of nausea and stomach pain and threw up. I felt OK immediately after and even ate my breakfast, now feel just a bit shivery. Does that sound like normal morning sickness? I'm worried I've somehow given myself food poisoning although I can't think of anything I've eaten recently that would have been a risk.

ivfdreaming · 26/08/2020 09:44

@RosettaR

I'm one of those annoying people who doesn't really get morning sickness (I threw up only 2 times with DD at about 14 weeks)

That being said my cat threw up everywhere yesterday and clearing it up made me sick and I did get quite a lot of aches/twinges in bump during and after but I think it's just the muscles contracting and also using muscles I wouldn't normally. Being sick does make me shivery too

I ate normally afterwards and felt fine rest of day

Everyone's morning sickness is different - I feel bad because I feel totally fine having twins and my friend having a single baby is sick day and night

ChaiTea1 · 26/08/2020 10:09

@RosettaR Yeah, unfortunately that sounds normal. I’ve started my morning sickness and I feel awful! I get quite clammy and shivery especially in the evenings after I’ve just had an epic throwing up session!! Stay well hydrated even if that turns your stomach!

ValidUser · 26/08/2020 12:12

I have awful nausea, but only actually vomited once. Then I had a week of feeling better and now it's back.

bunhead34 · 26/08/2020 12:26

@PineappleC I had some spotting (brown and bright red) and cramping around the 5 week mark, but everything was fine. Fingers crossed for you 🤞

I have a lot of nausea too, not actually been sick tho. But am pretty miserable! I hope it passes. I am not enjoying pregnancy at all so far 😭

Ro198 · 26/08/2020 12:28

Hope you don’t mind me joining, I’m 5+3 today. I still feel a bit nervous about everything working out okay but feeling a bit better as time goes on.

Congratulations to everyone!

ValidUser · 26/08/2020 14:07

Welcome @Ro198! Congratulations.

PineappleC · 26/08/2020 15:19

Aww thanks so much everyone for your reassurance. 😊 My gut feeling is that I lost the pregnancy at the weekend and I think I need to try and accept it. I know that there's explanations for the fainter tests and the spotting but key to me is that all of my symptoms just suddenly disappeared, and they had been really strong. The hard thing is that I have to act all normal and happy, and continue to take all medication (including the killer IM injections) until 7 Sept. It's mental torture and I really wish I could just have it confirmed now so that i can grieve and get my body back to normal. (DH won't accept it until we're told at the scan, and he thinks I'm being over-negative, but I know my own body!)

Anyway, I really hope that no one else experiences this and that you all go on to have very healthy and happy 8ish more months. I think I am going to bow out of this thread now but really wish you all the best of luck 😊🤞

ivfdreaming · 26/08/2020 15:31

@PineappleC

What about booking a private scan for the end of this week when you'll be closer to 6 weeks - I completely understand the torture of having to wait and not knowing. My clinics viability scan is usually 6 weeks anyway it just that some clinics seem to wait another week or 2

RosettaR · 26/08/2020 17:41

@PineappleC I'm so sorry you think you've lost the pregnancy. I agree, could you book an earlier scan, I think after 6 weeks they can see enough that they should be able to say what's going on. You can get them privately at lowlands of places if your clinic won't. It really must be torture waiting and not knowing for certain if that's what you feel. Sending you hugs in any case.

Thanks @ChaiTea1 and @ivfdreaming for sharing about morning sickness, that's really reassuring! I keep worrying I've given myself food poisoning, I need to stop obsessing I think.

@ivfdreaming, can I ask whether you've changed your diet at all since learning about the twins? I ordered a book on twins and it says you should have 5 portions of dairy a day, 5!!! I'm nowhere near that. And I've read in the US they recommend a high protein diet with 160g protein a day! I aimed for 90g for ivf and that was tonnes! Here the nhs just says "healthy balanced diet" so I don't know what to think.

ivfdreaming · 26/08/2020 19:26

@RosettaR

I haven't changed my diet at all - and I have a massive sweet tooth and whilst probably I should cut down on that I haven't either! I would say I do eat a naturally high protein diet anyway - LOTS of eggs, avocados, chicken, red meat, range of fruits etc. I've just put today into Myfitnesspal and that says I had 70g today? At the twin clinic they checked my iron levels as that usually can be a problem when carrying twins and she said they were perfect and carry on doing whatever doing. I was going to up my folic acid but no point now as the neural tubes would have formed in the first couple of weeks of pregnancy

I think I've put on about 2llbs so far which happy about given some of the junk food I've been eating - I suspect I'm burning a lot more calories though as my heart rate is higher and also my Fitbit is showing that the slightest activity puts my in fat burning zone!

I am taking the pregnacare Max pregnancy supplements - the ones where you take 2 green ones and then 1 of the yellow ones per day (£19 a box so not cheap) as the box says it has loads of things in it so maybe that's helping?

Typical day for me is either porridge with banana and honey or big bowl of mixed fruits and a yoghurt for breakfast. Lunch is usually poached eggs with smashed avocado on toast or an egg mayo sandwich or tuna mayo and then meat with veg for dinner. I'm addicted to wagon wheels at the moment 🤣 and then usually nibble on a few biscuits as find if I'm going to get morning sickness it's when my sugar levels get low (or is that an excuse to eat biscuits?? 🤔)

PineappleC · 26/08/2020 22:31

Thanks for the suggestion @ivfdreaming and @RosettaR, that's a great idea and I've now booked one in for Monday (I'll be 6+2 then in theory). I think I can just about hold on for 4 days!

Parkandride · 27/08/2020 12:44

Scan tomorrow, I just need to know. Feel so pessimistic. Surely I should have some symptoms except for sore boobs, the entire internet talks about tiredness, sickness etc Sad
I don't want to feel rubbish so not sure why I'm wishing this on myself

Did anyone else not have much in the way of symptoms about about 6 weeks?

ivfdreaming · 27/08/2020 12:57

@Parkandride

I had zero symptoms - still don't have any symptoms considering im having twins. I suppose I was a bit more tired than normal but then at 6 weeks was still recovering from the stress of egg collection/transfer/sleepless nights due to stress/anxiousness x

Parkandride · 27/08/2020 13:21

Ahh that's reassuring, and with twins too! Thanks @ivfdreaming Flowers

PineappleC · 27/08/2020 15:31

@Parkandride I don't think having no symptoms at this stage is a bad thing. My issue is that I had symptoms and they suddenly disappeared, but I know of ppl who had no symptoms at all for weeks and were fine!

Good luck for tomorrow. Mine has actually also been moved to tomorrow now too as they hadn't realised Monday was a bank holiday(!)

Parkandride · 27/08/2020 15:52

Fingers crossed for us both tomorrow then @PineappleC Smile

RosettaR · 27/08/2020 18:21

@Parkandride I don't think I had many symptoms at 6 weeks, I remember worrying about it and googling. I did start getting nausea soon after that though, certainly by 8 weeks. Tiredness is a weird one because mentally I feel normal but physically I do get tired, I couldn't do a 10 mile walk now, not even close. I've got a lot more energy than I did most of the way through ivf though, the down reg drugs were horrendous!

@PineappleC and @Parkandride fingers crossed for tomorrow, I so hope you get good news. I'm optimistic but I know that's easy to say when it's not you.

ivfdreaming · 27/08/2020 18:25

Good luck for those having scans tomorrow - got everything crossed you get good news

I've finally had my NIPT Panorama results today and everything has come back low risk 🥳🥳 and pretty sure we are having a boy and a girl!!! (Although the telephone line was bad but I'm sure that's what the clinic said 🤣!)
