Hi!
I very recently got my positive result after a FET. (This is my second child. First one conceived through a fresh cycle). Just wondered anyone in a similar position wanted to join, and help keep us calm until scan day!

I am only 4+2 weeks. Still so, so early. Can’t wait for my 7 week scan!

@BabySweet85 that's great! Did you find out the sex?

We're sending ours tomorrow. And had a scan today at 10+1. Baby sucking his/her thumb and all!

ivfbeenbusy · 02/09/2020 10:06

@BabySweet85

Hiya had a name change as problems with my account 🤣

I had to get my NT measurement done privately in the end - the NHS don't give second chances at the 12 week scan and once they've tried "twice" to get the measurement and if they can't get them they just stop trying. (Whereas private clinic kept going until they got it 🤣!)

The NHS didn't seem too concerned about not getting the NT it was more me - the sonographer said if he had seen something worrying he would advice me anyway but he didn't.

Parkandride · 02/09/2020 10:58

Ahh that's great @babysweet85 bet it's a big relief. We've decided against NIPT unless something shows on the 12 week scan as it was a PGS tested embryo so you'd hope all ok

Very cute @ValidUser at what point do you move to belly scans? I've seen a few people sound a bit nervous about internals but after ivf dildo cam is so normal Grin plus empty bladder is so much better

@ivfbeenbusy new name reflects where you are on the journey, I like it!

Bleeding stooped so I'm trying to stay positive as I had no pain and still have sore boobs. 6+4 now, I've booked a private scan at 9 weeks just incase it was a sign of something else going on. Also means DH will definitely have chance to attend as not sure what NHS 12 week rules are.

Also referred myself to midwives so hope they'll be in touch soon

ivfbeenbusy · 02/09/2020 11:15

I'm debating having another scan next week - just feels too long between 12 weeks and 20 weeks and want to check whether the little twin is keeping up with her growth - although I get monthly scans after 20 weeks DH can't come to any so at least he'd be able to come to this one with DD being back at school

All my scans were abdominal from 10 weeks onwards which was a relief! 🤣

BabySweet85 · 02/09/2020 12:10

I’m a bit confused by NIPT results to be honest as they are in the tens of millions. I wasn’t aware they went that high?

ivfbeenbusy · 02/09/2020 12:22

@BabySweet85

I've never seen them that high but it's certainly a great sign! 🤣 I've ever seen/had them in the tens of thousands

BabySweet85 · 02/09/2020 12:42

@ivfbeenbusy that’s what I thought so not really sure what the results are 🤷‍♀️

ValidUser · 02/09/2020 15:57

@Parkandride it was a belly scan and because I assumed it wasn't my bladder was empty! Still got clear pics.

Hi ladies,
Joining the club. My OTD was on 12th August, I'm now around 5.5 weeks.
I hope everyone is doing well.

Could someone reassure me, I had an emergency scan on Tuesday (5 weeks 3 days) due to some pain. They saw a gestational sac but nothing was visible in it, it measured around 7 mm. Is it still early to see a yolk sac or is it likely to be a MC? The HCG doubled from Sunday (1900) and on Tuesday was over 4000. I have another scan booked this Friday. I'm so worried :'(

ValidUser · 02/09/2020 20:07

@80SM welcome! Could well still be early. I had my first scan at 6+2 and just about saw a yolk sac then. Human looking shape at 7+4. Doubling beta is a good sign.

RosettaR · 02/09/2020 20:27

@80SM I agree with ValidUser, I think that's normal so early. All they will have been hoping to do was check it's not ectopic, which it sounds like they successfully did. So just a waiting game unfortunately but no reason to worry.

That's a lovely pic @ValidUser! I'm hoping I'll get some good pics at 12 weeks. It looks super cute when there's twins. Fingers crossed ...

Not much happening with me, just waiting for my 12 week scan. I told my boss yesterday because it takes ages to recruit where I work so we might need to start very soon to get cover sorted! Makes it all feel a bit more real but I know there are so many hurdles to clear.

ValidUser · 02/09/2020 20:48

@RosettaR so exciting! Can't wait for your scan pictures.

80SM · 02/09/2020 21:37

Thank you so much, ladies. It's very reassuring. And lovely scan pics !!

bunhead34 · 03/09/2020 11:19

Is anyone else suffering with sickness?

Ro198 · 03/09/2020 11:59

@bunhead34 I was for the first time this morning Sad

bunhead34 · 03/09/2020 12:16

@Ro198 it's the worst 😭

I feel sick all day and night, every day. I don't know how I will get through this!

Ro198 · 03/09/2020 12:40

@bunhead34 I had been feeling sick in the evenings but I could still do things, now it seems to be getting worse and I’ve started to have it all day today. It must be horrible for you that you’ve had it all day every day! How many weeks are you? I’m only 6+5 so might be like this for a while!

RosettaR · 03/09/2020 17:04

@bunhead34 sorry you're suffering. Mine has it's moments but generally not so bad. I have switched meals so I have a very plain snack first thing and then a proper breakfast a bit later (a luxury I wouldn't be able to have if not working from home). That's helped quite a lot.

ChaiTea1 · 03/09/2020 17:22

@bunhead34 have you seen the Hyperemesis thread? That has really good advice and support.
It’s helped me so much lately! My morning sickness has been up and down. It seems to be much worse after 4pm but settles down once I have some dinner. The past couple of days were bad but I put that down to me being anxious about my 7 week scan. Turns out I have a very strong bean with a good heartbeat so my sickness is more bareable today Grin

Ladies - Did you contact your GP to tell them you’re pregnant? I just did a self referral to my local maternity hospital but I haven’t told my GP! Not sure if I’m doing this the right way round! Also, there was nothing on the form for me to write that this is an IVF pregnancy. So my last period date is kinda irrelevant - should I have mentioned this somewhere?

ivfbeenbusy · 03/09/2020 18:42

@ChaiTea1

I know when I had my 8 week midwife booking in appointment they asked if it was IVF then

RosettaR · 03/09/2020 18:51

@ChaiTea1 I rang the GP first and they just gave me the number for the midwives, I didn't get the impression they recorded it anywhere. At my booking in appointment the midwife wasn't very clued up about ivf, she wanted to go by the date of my last period which would have been way early, but I told her the due date the clinic gave me and she recorded that instead. I would think if they go by your period they might do your booking in appointment a bit early, but I doubt there's any harm in that and you'll get the opportunity to set the record straight then. Or you could call them and check.

ivfbeenbusy · 03/09/2020 19:06

99% of midwives/hospital/GPs will always go off your last period days rather than IVF and it will get changed at the 12 week scan anyway depending on what the baby measures - mine was brought forward by 5/6 days purely because of the size of the bigger twin

ChaiTea1 · 03/09/2020 19:14

@ivfbeenbusy & @RosettaR Thanks! I’ll wait for the booking appointment and will explain then!
GP - I might give them a call tomorrow just to inform them for my piece of mind!

bunhead34 · 03/09/2020 22:01

@ChaiTea1 I have seen that board, but I feel a bit of a Freud joining? I haven't even been sick, maybe I'm just a weakling!

Congrats on your scan!

I didn't tell my gp I was pregnant I just did the self referral for the midwife service. But I spoke to the gp this week and said I was pregnant and they seemed miffed they didn't know 🤷🏼‍♀️

ValidUser · 03/09/2020 22:15

@bunhead34 according to most surveys and studies, the nausea is the worst bit, even according to those who vomit frequently.

I had constant nausea until 9 weeks, but thankfully it's really improved. Only vomited once, but that wasn't even on the day I felt worst/a day I felt particularly bad.

Finally consistently finding a heartbeat with our doppler at 10+3. Exciting!
