Hi!
I very recently got my positive result after a FET. (This is my second child. First one conceived through a fresh cycle). Just wondered anyone in a similar position wanted to join, and help keep us calm until scan day!

I am only 4+2 weeks. Still so, so early. Can’t wait for my 7 week scan!

@RosettaR amazing news Smile

Btw I’m guessing most people here are on cyclogest pesseries or similar?
Anyone else really bloated? I’ve read they can cause that. Hoping it’s as simple as that and it’ll stop when I finish them at 12 weeks.

RosettaR · 22/08/2020 07:47

@MrsDash I'm afraid to say my bloating has got a lot worse since I stopped my passaries (my clinic has you stop at 8 weeks). So for me they weren't causing it. No idea if I've got a bump already or if it is just bloating. I'm nearly none weeks but it is twins ...

BabySweet85 · 22/08/2020 08:23

@MrsDash I stopped my pessaries at 7 weeks. They caused mild side effects but mainly nausea.

ivfdreaming · 22/08/2020 09:20

I stopped pessaries at 12 weeks but having twins and it's definitely all babies now 🤣

takingthistooseriously · 22/08/2020 10:20

@ivfdreaming glad you got some good news! Twins sounds like such a different experience!

I think bloating can be a pregnancy symptom as well as a progesterone symptom due to your digestive system slowing down sadly!

ChaiTea1 · 22/08/2020 11:35

Ahh, I’m super bloated too! I have days when my stomach feels huge then other days it’s fine!

When did everyone contact their local maternity hospital for their midwife appointments and 12 week scan? Last time I waited until my 7 week scan but I remember they said I should have contacted them sooner as they were so busy! Not sure if it will be same due to corona this time round. I’m just worried about miscarrying again, so don’t want to cause them all that admin.

ivfdreaming · 22/08/2020 11:56

I contacted my midwife at 6 weeks only because I'd had an early scan confirming twins and then had the telephone appointment around 7 1/2 weeks

ValidUser · 22/08/2020 12:24

So I'm down to half my progesterone dose and feeling more human. 8+5 today. The feeling more human scares me!

ChaiTea1 · 22/08/2020 15:07

@ivfdreaming I think I’ll contact them soon. Don’t want to rush with appointments or have any too late!

MorgenMuffel · 23/08/2020 08:02

@ChaiTea1 I waited for my viability scan before self referring to midwives, I didn't want the stress of cancelling everything if I referred before the sca and then there was an issue.

@MrsDash I have been very bloated too...put it down to the pessaries but my bump doesn't seem to have gone down! My horrendous burping has subsided though Grin

I'm still so exhausted, thought it might have subsided a little now. Waiting for the second trimester "glow" to appear haha

RosettaR · 23/08/2020 17:04

@BabySweet85 that's interesting, my nausea has really dropped since I came off the progesterone. I have been a little worried about it but you've reassured me a bit.

I called the midwives really early to arrange the booking in appointment. I don't think it means they book them early, they still try to book all the scans and stuff at the right time for you.

ivfdreaming · 23/08/2020 17:15

Is anyone starting to get cramping/round ligament pain? My bump is quite achey at the bottom on one side - sometimes the odd twinges low down in the centre - think bikini line area?

Also movements? Anyone feeling anything yet? Sometimes I feel small popping like sensations?

RosettaR · 23/08/2020 17:52

@ivfdreaming that's so exciting you might be starting to feel movements! I'm not feeling much at the moment, the pains I used to get have mostly gone but it's too soon for any movements for me, I'm not 9 weeks yet.

Is anyone else still struggling to believe this is real? I still can't picture myself actually having a baby, let alone two ... I know there's loads that could still go wrong and I shouldn't get too excited ... But I still feel I should be more excited than I am!

ivfdreaming · 23/08/2020 18:11

@RosettaR

I still don't feel I can get excited yet - I think I will be once I get to 20 weeks, maybe 24 weeks when I know if I went into early labour they will attempt to save the babies. After 7 losses I just can't imagine bringing these babies home yet and second guess everything. Today for instance bump has been really achey and I'm worried as won't get to see the babies now for another 6 weeks until my 20 week scan. I'd book another private one but we've spent so much money the last few weeks with extra tests and scans I really need to start saving money for baby things plus need to move DD into the box room and she's extorted all sorts out of me to agree to the move! (She's 4!)

But when they guessed one was probably a boy and maybe the other one too last week at the scan I actually felt such a connection to these babies - stronger than it was for DD at this point in pregnancy (and I was desperate for her to be a girl) and I think about them as "my boys" (although could still change until I get the results of the NIPT with confirmation of sex in a week or so 🤣)

ivfdreaming · 23/08/2020 18:23

It's sad as this is almost certainly the last pregnancy I'll ever have and want to enjoy every second but can't

(2 more top quality blastocysts frozen but pretty sure DH won't go for 5 kids.....although he did tick the box saying I could transfer them in the even of this death and he is close to pushing all my hormonal buttons lately! 🤣)

BabySweet85 · 24/08/2020 12:06

Hey all - just had my NIPT and scan. Scan was measuring slightly bigger but only by a day. Everything looked fine although she said ‘we don’t measure the fluid at the back of the neck on this scan but that usually sorts itself out before the 12 week scan’ - not sure what to make of that?

I have been looking at nub and skull theory and it looks like a boy 🤷‍♀️

How are you all?

ivfdreaming · 24/08/2020 13:25

@BabySweet85

That's rather a bizarre thing to say to you?? Hope your results don't take as long as mine! Hoping my redrawn blood test result will be back for the end of this week 🤞🤞

How many weeks are you now? I've spent hours on google obsessing over skull and nub theory trying to guess boy/girl 🤣

There is a good Facebook site you can post on where people will guess x

BabySweet85 · 24/08/2020 13:31

@ivfdreaming I am 10+5. Hope your results are back soonI just looked at my report that they emailed and it does say NT on it.

Does anybody have any ideas on what a low risk NT would be?

ivfdreaming · 24/08/2020 13:41

I know when I was googling mine it was less than 3.5mm I think they want to see? But I think it's less accurate If the baby is less Than 45mm which is why they usually wait until 11weeks minimum

What does your report say? X

BabySweet85 · 24/08/2020 13:48

@ivfdreaming it says 2.5 for NT and the baby is measuring just below 45mm.

RosettaR · 24/08/2020 13:57

@ivfdreaming it must be so hard being pregnant after so many losses. It does feel like a big gap until the next scan, I'm finding the gap between week 7 and week 12 long too.

I can't say I feel much of a connection, maybe after the 12 week scan. Is it normal to have an idea of gender at 12 weeks? I don't want to get my hopes up but it would be nice to know early. My mum has convinced me they're girls because she had a dream that I had twin girls, before we knew it was twins. I do worry I'll be disappointed now if they're boys.

I think my DH is determined if we're successful this was our last ivf. I'd like to see how we go and not close the door completely. I'd definitely like to keep trying naturally after because I've heard of a few people who had ivf then had a surprise a few years later. Lol at your husband having signed the rights over to you in the event of his death!

ivfdreaming · 24/08/2020 14:08

@BabySweet85

That sounds ok at 2.5mm? I'd try not to worry too much about that measurement

@RosettaR

That's why I booked one for 10 weeks just so I was prepared in case something was going wrong (I'd had a 12 week scan before where they couldn't find a heartbeat)

Usually around 12-13 weeks If you get a good side shot showing what they call the "nub" you can have a good guess and some sonographers will have a guess for fun. My DD looked like a girl right the way from the 12 week scan and also I had been doing the Chinese gender chart religiously and put extra effort in that month as it was predicted to be a "girl" month and it was right! 🤣
My DD has been saying boy/girl for months even before I got pregnant so if she's right maybe you're mother could be right too!! Hopefully I'll know my Friday so I can start to decorate the bedroom!

I think when you have twins first it can be harder to persuade the other half to have more kids 🤣 but I do know loads of people who conceived naturally after IVF for the first one

PineappleC · 24/08/2020 15:48

Hi everyone! Cautiously joining this group. I got my BFP last week after a very "challenging" FET cycle and I'm 5+2 today.

Feeling very cautious, as today I've had some brown spotting and sone dull low-down cramps, and my RHRs taken a nose dive, but trying to stay optimistic so joining this group as a leap of faith 🤞

Congrats to everyone on here, and awesome that there are a couple of twin pairs too 😊

RosettaR · 24/08/2020 16:17

@BabySweet85 that is a strange (and thoughtless) comment. I guess since she said she's not worries you will just have to try not to worry too. It sounds like the measurement is ok and you've not got long to wait until the 12 week scan anyway now.

@ivfdreaming ah ok so lots of fun guessing but for facts you wait until 20 weeks? Sounds good!

Welcome and congrats @PineappleC, good to see you again! Fingers crossed for you. Do you have an early scan booked in yet? Your clinic might want to scan you early given the bleeding - mine did when I had a bit of bleeding. I had random cramps on and off all the way through to about week 7 and the clinic were very dismissive of that side of things.

PineappleC · 25/08/2020 14:18

Thanks @RosettaR 😊 My scan is on 7 September. The spotting and cramping has stopped (it only lasted a couple of hours yesterday) but I did another test this morning and unfortunately it is lighter than last Tuesday's. The clinic have said there's no way of knowing and to wait until the scan, so I think it looks like 2 weeks of limbo for me 🤷‍♀️ I'm assuming it's bad news, and have spent the morning in bits, but going to pray for that very slight chance it may have just been a bad test 🤞
