Hi!
I very recently got my positive result after a FET. (This is my second child. First one conceived through a fresh cycle). Just wondered anyone in a similar position wanted to join, and help keep us calm until scan day!

I am only 4+2 weeks. Still so, so early. Can’t wait for my 7 week scan!

Welcome and congratulations @Parkandride. I'm sure your scan will come round quicker than you think.

@ivfdreaming how stressful and frustrating for you, that both the NIPT and the NT scan let you down. Good luck with the private test on Saturday. Don't read too much into the fact that the NIPT people won't release the result just for one. I would think it would just be their policy not to release results if they are expexting to get another sample - just in case they get more info from that and have to revise their initial conclusion.

I have my booking in appointment tomorrow and as I'm eight weeks today this is my last day taking progesterone. Scary! Still I have loads of questions for the midwife so looking forward to hopefully having some more information!

Still so anxious, while doing ivf I imagined if I got a bfp I would just happy and excited for the rest of pregnancy. That is not how it has turned out, I just feel anxious all the time and tearful too if I think of anything sad. No idea if it's hormones or just the sheer number of things that can go wrong ...

ivfdreaming · 18/08/2020 19:10

@Parkandride

Welcome! I've seen you around on the threads before!

@RosettaR

I went to have the NIPT Redone this afternoon and the clinic were lovely - think they felt bad so the consultant stayed to fit me in for the NT and combined test straight after my blood test. NT were 1.47mm and 1.88mm and they did a detailed check of the heart and nasal bones and said visually the twins are low risk and I should get the combined result by Thursday with hopefully the NIPT next week

Also one definitely looks like a boy and the other one could go either way! 💙

ValidUser · 18/08/2020 20:45

@ivfdreaming that's good!

@Parkandride welcome!

Parkandride · 19/08/2020 13:56

Anyone had ovary type pain? Kind of like ovulation, it's just a dull ache that comes and goes on one side today. I'm so nervous about an ectopic.
But I'm having all kinds of twinges, including the odd one on the other side, and I know how close together everything is down there so it's hard to pinpoint a pain. I've been investigated for a very similar pelvic pain before a few years back and there was nothing so it could just be attention seeking!

That's great news that everything's looking good @ivfdreaming Smile

How was booking in appointment @RosettaR? What kind of things do they go through

ivfdreaming · 19/08/2020 14:30

@Parkandride have you had an ectopic before?

I've had 2 and ultimately lost both tubes and I would say the pain at first was more a pinching pain on one side. If you draw a line horizontally from your belly button towards your hip that sort of location?

ValidUser · 19/08/2020 15:34

My SCH is pretty much completely gone! Measurements great and loads of movement. I've graduated from the IVF clinic and go to the normie clinic next!

RosettaR · 19/08/2020 15:36

@ivfdreaming that's great they managed to do both together and that they tried to be helpful with it. I'm sure you're very relieved. I had no idea it was possible to see gender so early, congratulations!

I think I'm getting a bump like you said which is exciting! Although also difficult to be sure it's not just bloating. And I'm still way smaller than i was with OHSS.

@Parkandride I've had odd bits of pain in different places since before my bfp, but mostly on one side. It's all been very mild. But then I did have a fresh ivf cycle and when she did my scan the nurse did say my ovaries are still quite large, so not sure how much relates to that and how much to pregnancy.

The booking appointment was ok, she quizzed me about lots of things, where I live, who lives with me, any medication, medical conditions, past surgery, weight, height, whether certain medical conditions are in my family, anxiety, depression ... She gave me lots of appointments, one next week for blood tests, then my 12 week scan in September and next midwife appointment in October. Because of the twins and an existing medical condition she also referred me to a consultant and I'll hear from them at some stage. Plus she talked me through vaccines and screening tests. It made me feel a bit more in control and looked after than I have before so a positive experience!

Hello all! Can I please join?

Congrats to all!

I’m 7 weeks 4 days from our first FET done on 16th July. Still in shock that it’s worked. We had the treatment postponed in March but luckily 4 embryos were able to be frozen. I’m guessing many on here have had a similar experience with covid affecting treatment?

I had my 7 week scan on Monday and all is looking well. Also having strong symptoms (sore boobs, sickness, fatigue).
I’ve got my booking scan on Tuesday and have been told I’ll be under a consultant and will have extra scans. Keeping my fingers crossed everything will be as normal as possible. I’d love to feel like a normal pregnant woman.

ValidUser · 19/08/2020 19:20

@RosettaR glad it was a positive experience!

@MrsDash congratulations! I'm just 5 days ahead of you.

@MrsDash lovely!

BabySweet85 · 19/08/2020 20:37

@Parkandride I have ovary pain - sometimes aching sometimes sharp. I’m 10 weeks now and had a scan at 7 weeks so think ectopic was ruled out x

ivfdreaming · 19/08/2020 20:58

@BabySweet85

At the private scan I had yesterday I asked about some aches and pains I've been getting and the doctor said it's normal and just everything starting to stretch and move about. I can't remember if you have children already but he said because I've had a c section before and also surgery to remove both tubes the amount of scar tissue/adhesions is also going to make it painful/uncomfortable

BabySweet85 · 19/08/2020 21:03

@ivfdreaming thanks. It is my first child - long journey to get here. I have had an appendectomy which they though may have blocked my tubes so I guess it could be that.

ValidUser · 19/08/2020 21:10

A lot of us have similar stories. I had a missed peritonitis as a child and when my appendix was removed a few years later there were adhesions everywhere.

I developed a massive hydrosalpinx, other tube damaged but still there. Loads of adhesions we're divided on salpingectomy, but I'm sure I still have plenty!

ivfdreaming · 19/08/2020 21:25

@ValidUser

I had an adhesionectomy after my first ectopic- didn't even know that was a thing/word! But pretty sure more has grown back.

Also had a stumpectony during my second salpingectomy as made them go back in to the site of my first ectopic to remove the stump they had left as was paranoid about having another ectopic in it!

bunhead34 · 20/08/2020 11:06

I had my scan today, baby is fine and even saw a heartbeat! So relieved. They didn't see any reason for the bleeding.

I am feeling soooo sick now!

takingthistooseriously · 20/08/2020 11:38

@bunhead34 that's great news about the baby! when is your next scan? less good about your sickness. I sympathise! I'm 13+3 and thought it would have gone by now but it seems to have blended seamlessly into second trimester gastric issues which I won't go into, just bleugh!

@MrsDash welcome!

ValidUser · 20/08/2020 12:41

@bunhead34 glad all is looking good!

RosettaR · 20/08/2020 15:09

Welcome @MrsDash, and congratulations. I was delayed by covid, was meant to start down regulating a week or so after the clinics shut. It was stressful but not as stressful as being interrupted part way through I can imagine!

That's great news @bunhead34, I'm so glad to hear that! It seems bleeding is fairly common from our experiences on this thread but that doesn't make it less terrifying!

While we're sharing scan pics, here are my two little blobs ...

ValidUser · 20/08/2020 15:26

@RosettaR beautiful baby blobs!

bunhead34 · 20/08/2020 15:29

@ValidUser @takingthistooseriously
Thank you!

@takingthistooseriously that sounds rough, I hope you feel better soon! I've taken Citrezine today, it seems to be helping x

bunhead34 · 20/08/2020 15:30

@RosettaR thank you.
That's a beautiful pic!

MrsDash · 20/08/2020 15:56

@RosettaR lovely photo! Congrats.

Yes March was incredibly frustrating but we were definitely some of the lucky ones in terms of having something to show for our weeks of meds etc. Going into lockdown knowing we had 4 embryo frozen kept my mind positive. I really felt for those who hadn’t quite reached egg collection yet etc.

ivfdreaming · 20/08/2020 16:37

@RosettaR

Ahhh lovely photo.
Here is mine from 7 weeks - they are a LOT bigger now! Proper little wriggly babies 👶

I had my first twins clinic appointment today! Very scary seeing the ladies who only have a couple of weeks to go and the size of their bumps 🤣

Had my private combined test results back today (only took 48 hours!) - about 1/1000 for each of the twins for downs, and 1/20,000 for both Edwards and Pateus - so feeling relieved x
