Hi!
I very recently got my positive result after a FET. (This is my second child. First one conceived through a fresh cycle). Just wondered anyone in a similar position wanted to join, and help keep us calm until scan day!

I am only 4+2 weeks. Still so, so early. Can’t wait for my 7 week scan!

@LikeTheFruit lovely to hear from you! I'm 7 weeks pregnant after IVF!

ivfdreaming · 10/08/2020 17:20

@takingthistooseriously

Wonderful news!

I'd trust the NHS scan results to be honest as they are much more experienced than some of the private ones x

ValidUser · 10/08/2020 17:59

I posted my last message in the wrong thread. Apologies!

RosettaR · 11/08/2020 20:57

Big news for us today, scan showed right location and heartbeat, the surprise was that there are two! Huge surprise as we only had one embryo transferred (the only embryo we had!). So glad all looks well but a bit overwhelmed. Even with ivf identical twins is less that 1 in 100 chance, so it hadn't even occurred to me this could happen to us!

ivfdreaming · 11/08/2020 21:07

@RosettaR

Amazing! Congratulations! Welcome to the twins club 🤣

Are they in different sacs or sharing? And both measuring what they should etc?

RosettaR · 11/08/2020 21:15

@ivfdreaming she thought they were in separate sacs but not 100% sure. She said the both measured OK, one is 11mm and one 8mm, but she thinks the 8mm one is actually bigger but she couldn't see all of it. I'm 7 weeks today. It's really exciting, and so good to have others with twins to share it with!

ValidUser · 11/08/2020 21:20

@RosettaR that's great news! So excited for you

ivfdreaming · 11/08/2020 21:23

Ah wonderful! - that's about what mine measured at 7 weeks! So exciting! I stated to get a bump around 8 weeks so you might start popping too soon?! Will these be your first children? X

takingthistooseriously · 11/08/2020 23:13

@RosettaR yay great news!

MorgenMuffel · 12/08/2020 08:32

Just catching up as we've been camping with ni signal. Welcome to the newbies!

Sorry to hear about the bleeds, sounds very scary, but hopefully no more now and everything carries on ok. @rosettaR congrats on the twins!

None of my clothes fit so going to have to branch out for some maternity clothes today!

Janefx40 · 12/08/2020 09:01

Still hovering around and saw your great news @RosettaR so exciting and so special!

Hope everyone else is doing well too

Xxx

bunhead34 · 12/08/2020 12:41

Congrats @RosettaR !

Do you have many symptoms?

BabySweet85 · 12/08/2020 14:39

Can i ask you all how cautious you are being about covid? Are you going to restaurants etc? Or staying home as much as possible? X

ValidUser · 12/08/2020 15:02

@BabySweet85 I'm staying home as much as possible. I'm in Ireland and our rates are lower here, but it's the last thing I need!

tikha · 12/08/2020 15:23

Transferred a 5 day 4AB blast. I am 14dp5dt today. My beta on monday 12dp5dt was 104 so feel like it was low. I only really starting seeing faint lines on frer from 8dp5dt which has darkened. Clear blue digital showed 2 to 3 weeks on 13dp5dt. Going to repeat the blood test tomorrow morning. Am not feeling hopeful as my nausea is no longer an issue. Doing my repeat blood test tomorrow and am nervous. So thought this would be a good group to join even if temorarily

ivfdreaming · 12/08/2020 15:23

@BabySweet85

I'm WFH and have a 4 year old so not really going out much. I'm Probably down to one big shop a week with maybe one small top up shop but I'm feeling like a fat hormonal hot mess so really not comfortable out in public at the moment anyway even if there wasn't a pandemic on 🤣.
Met a friend last week in a park for a walk and hugged her and also hugged other people when I've seen them - I think pregnancy hormones are making me emotional and I'm craving human contact (im a very tactile person usually) - was desperate for somewhere with air conditioning today so went to Mac Donald's and also taking advantage of the eat out/help out deal next week
So I suppose I'm following guidelines (except for maybe the hugging 🤣) but not shielding etc

RosettaR · 12/08/2020 15:52

Thanks all!

@ivfdreaming yes this is my first child. Are your twins non-identical? I'm worried I'll be absolutely huge! I could do without the extra risks to be honest but if that's what the embryo wanted to do then we just have to go with it!

@bunhead34 not too much in the way of symptoms really. Nausea on and off and I'm really struggling to swallow supplements. Other things I'm finding hard to tell because ivf messed things up so much. Like I've not got huge amounts of energy but still more than during ivf.

@BabySweet85 I want to be more cautious but I'm on holiday this week and my husband really wants to go out to pubs and stuff. I don't find it very relaxing at all particularly I worry about using the toilet. But I feel bad constantly saying no to everything. Before this week we've been really cautious.

@tikha don't worry about not having nausea, it's normal for that not to start until six to eight weeks and some don't have any. Good luck with the repeat hcg and tentative congratulations.

ivfdreaming · 12/08/2020 16:00

@RosettaR

Yes you've got to think of it as 2 for the price of 1 🤣 - you said this was your last embryo so would you have tried again in the future for a sibling? This way you can complete your family in one go?

The clinic says with 2 separate clear sacs and because it was a double transfer highly unlikely they'd be identical

Did you try naturally around the time of your transfer? I've known people end up with non identical twins because they conceived at the same time as their FET?! (Well actually she ended up with triplets because her IVF embryo split and then she also conceived on her own 🤣!)

I'm trying to stay away from a lot of twin forums as seeing the size of some people's bumps is really panicking me! I'm only 5ft3 so doctors don't think I'll go anywhere near full term. A friend popped round today and she's 20 weeks and has a perfectly flat stomach!

I still don't have any nausea etc - my heart ate goes crazy if I do the slightest activity and Im getting tired more easily but that's it really

RosettaR · 13/08/2020 08:13

@ivfdreaming yes this was our first fresh cycle and only embryo, so it is a bonus not to have to try again for a second child!

No we didn't try naturally or anything, I'm pretty convinced they're identical. Looking back it's probably a good thing only one of our embryos made it. If any had made it but weren't looking good enough to freeze, I'd have wanted to transfer two and that could have given us triplets which would be terrifying!

It's interesting what you say about your heart rate, I'm finding if I walk up a hill I get breathless very quickly, like when I used to suffer from anaemia. I don't know if I'm just out of practice because I really cut back on exercise during ivf, or if that's pregnancy. I think with twins we will get lots of blood tests to check things like that.

ivfdreaming · 13/08/2020 08:31

@RosettaR
The heart rate and breathless thing I think is definitely a twin thing - I'm leaving for my 12 week scan in a moment and its currently banging away at 101 because I'm feeling a bit stressed out 😬

ivfdreaming · 13/08/2020 09:55

So 12 week update both babies doing fine - one a real chunk and the other about 5 days smaller but measuring what it should. They were really wriggly so they couldn't do the NT measurement so I'm glad I paid for the NIPT now as can't have the usual NHS combined screening and would only get the Downs one not Edwards/Pateus etc

takingthistooseriously · 13/08/2020 11:24

That's good news @ivfdreaming ! I was at hospital on Monday for about an hour and a half as she couldn't get the NT measurement for aaages! But it meant I got ages watching baby on the screen while she tried. Does anyone know how quickly you get the NHS screening results back?

ivfdreaming · 13/08/2020 12:12

@takingthistooseriously

Thanks! I'm pretty sure I had them back with DD within a couple of weeks x

MorgenMuffel · 13/08/2020 18:36

@takingthistooseriously my hospital said the results are back within 2 weeks usually, but that if there was an issue I'd get a phone call much sooner than that. Its almost 2 weeks for me now and not heard anything, so hoping that means all is well!

ValidUser · 13/08/2020 18:51

@ivfdreaming that's great!

I got impatient so I'm having a scan in the morning.
