Hi!
I very recently got my positive result after a FET. (This is my second child. First one conceived through a fresh cycle). Just wondered anyone in a similar position wanted to join, and help keep us calm until scan day!

I am only 4+2 weeks. Still so, so early. Can’t wait for my 7 week scan!

@BeHereNowx32 I'm so sorry about your loss xx

@ValidUser congratulations!

RosettaR · 05/08/2020 19:28

@BeHereNowx32 I'm so sorry to hear you've had bad news, it's so sad and so unfair. Take the time you need.

Congrats on your scans @ValidUser and @MorgenMuffel. So glad they went well.

I've been in such an anxious state since my last post, I'm just so worried that whatever is causing my diarrhea could harm the baby. Even though all my research says that's very unlikely even in the case of much more severe food poisoning - and I may not even have had food poisoning, it could be the shifting hormones or even the anxiety. I suffer from health anxiety at the best of times so I knew this period wasn't going to be easy.

MorgenMuffel · 08/08/2020 09:02

@RosettaR sorry to hear you have been struggling, it is such a tough period so be kind to yourself. Hope you have got some nice plans for the weekend.

@takingthistooseriously good luck for your scan today.

We are visiting the in laws this weekend and will be telling BIL and wife - very excited as we will be telling them the news in person!

RosettaR · 08/08/2020 09:29

I'm panicking today because I've had a small amount of bleeding. It really is only a small amount (staring at the tissue stuff). Called the clinic and they just said if it gets really heavy or if I have pain to go to A&E, otherwise the clinic might scan me next week. I've got some very mild pain only so far.

takingthistooseriously · 08/08/2020 10:22

Thanks @MorgenMuffel it's at 5pm so a whole day of waiting anxiously!

@RosettaR I hope you can get a scan to maybe reassure you, no matter how many times you read that bleeding is normal it is hugely scary. When I had bleeding I called my community midwife who made an emergency appointment for me at the local EPU, they don't see you without a referral here but I think each area may be different?

ValidUser · 08/08/2020 11:59

@RosettaR it's scary. I had some bleeding earlier on and it freaked the bejesus out of us, but all was ok. Thinking of you x

takingthistooseriously · 08/08/2020 17:49

Hi all, well good/mixed news from me. Baby is doing great and was waving and wriggling around which was so so good to see but my bleed has got bigger rather than smaller and is now looking terrifyingly ginormous so I'm duly terrified. Just have to wait it out I think.

ivfdreaming · 08/08/2020 18:24

@takingthistooseriously

I don't know too much about uterine bleeds during pregnancy - have the clinic said if there is anything that can be done about? How many weeks are you now?

I'm sure I've read before of women having a large SCH and then they've had a sudden big bleed and passed it and the baby was fine

Great news that the baby is happy and wriggly though! Do

takingthistooseriously · 08/08/2020 23:20

Thanks @ivfdreaming I don't really know much either, googling seems to show differing studies on the effects on pregnancy. Worst case seems to be a miscarriage risk in the early 20% region. I'm hoping my 12wk nhs scan on Monday can tell me more. I'm currently 11+5, will be 12 exactly on Monday. Whilst an avalanche of blood would be flaming terrifying, I'm almost hoping for that so I know it's gone!
How are you getting on?

Janefx40 · 09/08/2020 07:01

@takingthistooseriously sorry you are going through this. I think you need to go to the emergency EPU probably via A&E - in our area the EPU is only Monday to Friday but there is an emergency service from one of the wards out of hours. Any big bleed is worth checking out especially as you are quite far along. I'm sorry this must be so scary. Take good care of yourself

Xxx

RosettaR · 09/08/2020 08:09

@takingthistooseriously I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through and that you're still uncertain despite a great scan, that sounds incredibly stressful. I think @Janefx40 is probably right in her advice, my clinic did advise going to A&E if the bleeding got really heavy. Hope it all works out for the best, let us know how you get on.

My bleed continues in very small amounts. My DH thinks I should just relax but I think that's an unrealistic expectation. The thing that scares me the most is I kind of feel down there how i do just before a period. Can't even really describe the feeling but I don't think it can be good.

BabySweet85 · 09/08/2020 08:16

@takingthistooseriously great news about the baby being all wriggly! Sorry to hear you can’t fully relax. Just make sure you keep in contact with EPU and midwife xxx

ivfdreaming · 09/08/2020 09:03

@takingthistooseriously

Wow 12 week scan already tomorrow! Mine is Thursday and feeling really anxious - should also get my NIPT results in the next few days too which I think is just adding to the stress. Just want to stay in bed in a dark room until Thursday!

I've had a missed miscarriage found at the 12 week scan before too so just feeling really upset and on edge

Praying we both get good news this week xxx

takingthistooseriously · 09/08/2020 10:36

@ivfdreaming I'll join you in hiding in a dark room! Sorry you're feeling stressed, hopefully this week brings some reassurance for you and then after the 12 week scan you can chill a bit!

Thanks all, I'm not physically bleeding fortunately, I have an internal pool of blood next to the sac, which may or may not escape at some point!

bunhead34 · 10/08/2020 09:43

Hi, I'd love to join!
I got my BFP on Friday after my first FET.

Feeling anxious about every tiny thing 😭 there was a teeny bit of pink when I did my progesterone pessary last night - I hate seeing that!
My scan is on the 27th which feels a million years away!

ValidUser · 10/08/2020 10:02

@bunhead34 welcome!

I'm 7 weeks today. Next scan on the 19th. Nausea is crippling me and I've a 1.5 hour drive to and from work.

I'm on steroids and between that and the progesterone I've a bump that looks about 6 months and my FF boobs are no longer fitting in many dresses. I'm sucking in a bit because people will be confused/embarrassed if I tell them I'm not due until March. 😂

ivfdreaming · 10/08/2020 10:05

@bunhead34

Welcome to the mad/stress house over here

I'm 11 weeks with twins and dont have any nausea BUT I feel positively homicidal today 🤣 - could go either way - i could end up burying DH under the maintain of his own washing he piles NEXT to the wash basket or I'm just going to cry all day

RosettaR · 10/08/2020 14:17

@takingthistooseriously at least you know about the pool of blood which will hopefully save you some panic if/when it comes out. Sometimes it feel a like our bodies deliberately play games with us. Have the clinic confirmed whether it's potentially risky or is it nothing to worry about?

@bunhead34 congratulations! I think I remember you from a thread we were on probably a long time ago. So glad to hear you have made it this far! A few of us on here have had bleeding and it is terrifying. Fingers crossed it stops soon.

@ValidUser that sounds stressful!
I've never appreciated working from home as much as I have these past few weeks, particularly when OHSS made me look about 6 months pregnant.

My bleeding appears to have stopped (scared to write that though in case it comes back!). I need to call the clinic today and see if they want me on for a scan this week. I'm booked for a scan next Tuesday which would be 8 weeks. Now the bleeding has stopped I'd be happy to leave it until then but only if they think it's safe to do so. I'm on holiday this week and it would be a 5 hour round trip to drive to the clinic.

On a different subject, am I the only one who is massively craving salt? I've had it for a few weeks now. I feel nauseous sometimes and don't fancy food, but once I've doused it in salt I'll happily eat anything.

bunhead34 · 10/08/2020 14:23

@RosettaR yes I remember you too!

The bleeding is a little worse just now, but not terrible.
I honestly thing this wait is worse than the two week wait!

But I'm happy I can now tell myself
My lockdown cake belly is pregnancy 😂

Are most people on Estrogen/progesterone still?

ValidUser · 10/08/2020 14:49

@bunhead34 I'm on progesterone but not oestrogen

RosettaR · 10/08/2020 14:54

Argh clinic did want to scan me to rule out ectopic, so I've got a scan tomorrow afternoon, which will be seven weeks. Terrified.

@bunhead34 yes I'm still on progesterone and will be until week 8 - some clinics do week 12. Never been on estrogen because mine was a fresh cycle.

bunhead34 · 10/08/2020 14:56

I've heard some bleeding can be caused by the progesterone pessary, is that even true?

@RosettaR good luck with the scan tomorrow x

bunhead34 · 10/08/2020 15:00

@RosettaR what kind of bleeding are you having? Is it red?

takingthistooseriously · 10/08/2020 15:18

welcome @bunhead34! I think a tiny bit of pink is OK, I bled quite a bit of pink/brown at around week 7/8 and it was terrifying but all ok. I was on progesterone until 8+6.

@RosettaR so glad to hear your bleeding has stopped, at least you don't have long to wait now for your scan. Everything crossed for you! On salt, I went through a massive salt and vinegar crisp phase a couple of weeks ago, now I can't face them, it's all about sugar! I am not hopeful of keeping the weight off sadly!

@ValidUser urgh sorry to hear about the nausea, and your lengthy commute. What week are you in now? apparently it peaks at week 9 in a lot of people and certainly did for me. I still have bouts of 'oh goodness I need to get to the loo NOW' but they are much fewer!

Thank you everyone for your good wishes, my 12 week scan went really well. Two sonographers looked at the images from my private scan and the ones from today and they said that the private clinic just got it totally wrong and they couldn't see a bleed at all. So now I'm a bit in limbo but hopefully the two NHS ladies are right. Two sleepless nights for nothing!

ValidUser · 10/08/2020 15:24

@takingthistooseriously glad everything looked well!

I'm seven weeks today. No actual vomiting, but I'm sticking to dry food and had to stop eating dinner last night.

My automatic reaction to pregnancy announcements is still "when is it my turn?"! Two in the past week and I have to remind myself I'm pregnant!

@RosettaR scans are scary. Hopefully it's reassuring.
