Hi guys! Just found out were expecting. Very early but have no one else I can compare symptoms or questions with. Also thought it would be nice to follow pregnancies together. Expected due date should be the middle of March!

@ALew15 if you call the gp they should be able to give you contact details 🙂

AnaBananas · 07/07/2020 15:43

@ALew15 Yep I called the GP yesterday, (4weeks). She just gave relevant information, advised to take folic acid, and that she would be reviewing me to the midwife for an appointment to test blood pressure, etc.

AnaBananas · 07/07/2020 16:11

So, very embarrassing, but I’ve been told by my husband that I have had bad breath the last couple of days, and it’s never been like this before. I’ve looked it up and have seen that sometimes pregnancy hormones can cause bad breath! Not a symptom that I had ever heard of before.

Phie04 · 07/07/2020 22:25

@Ricekrispiecake How did the scan go?

Hey all, I have an early pregnancy scan today. I experienced severe cramping overnight which made me contact 111. I've had loads of tests all come back normal. They don't think its an ectopic pregnancy and the pain isn't ongoing and no bleeding etc. I have no idea what it is or what to expect at scan, I don't know how they're going to find the little sesame seed. I'm very worried about everything.

Boredinthehouse12 · 08/07/2020 10:00

@Maple1990 How far are you? I hope everything goes well at the scan! Since there’s no bleeding hopefully it won’t be anything too serious. Is the cramping just like AF pain or completely different?

Maple1990 · 08/07/2020 10:05

According to NHS calc I'm 6 weeks. Yes its like intense AF pain, it was so severe I was almost sick with pain and predominantly on one side. After 30mins it eased off, only light cramping since.

ALew15 · 08/07/2020 10:30

When is everyone thinking of telling close family and friends?

Jppaddy92 · 08/07/2020 10:34

Hi all, I'm 6 weeks pg with my first bambino, due beginning of March 💕💕

Jppaddy92 · 08/07/2020 10:35

@Maple1990 hope everything is alright on the scan. Early pregnancy has to be the most anxious, gut wrenching time of our lives xxx

KM89 · 08/07/2020 10:57

Hi everyone,

Just tested positive this morning baby #1. Taken 3 tests just to make sure Blush.

I still can't believe it even though we have been trying since last year.
NHS calculator says 4 weeks. I tried to call my doctors but the receptionist was useless and said they don't see people until they are 16 weeks?

she then asked someone else as she seemed unsure and said to self refer to the midwife when I know what hospital I want to go to....

This has thrown me i just assumed the drs would confirm anything with me but I'm totally clueless Confused

Does this sound right?

Boredinthehouse12 · 08/07/2020 10:59

@Maple1990 fingers crossed for you! Let us know how it goes x

@ALew15 I’m thinking of booking an early scan (6-8 weeks), so will be telling close family after that. I think we’re going to wait to tell friends if/when we get the all clear after the 12 week scan. What about you?

Nmvasey · 08/07/2020 11:17

@Maple1990 I'm experiencing the same to the point where it is waking me up in the night. It does however pass with a bowel movement (sorry TMI) Have you ever suffered from IBS? I did years ago and 🙏 it's a flare up as apparently hormones can cause all sorts of issues. I did have a telephone conversation with my doctor and it wasn't the most helpful, I got a bit of a just see what happens which was frustrating! Hope you get some peace of mind from your scan and that everything is OK

Nmvasey · 08/07/2020 11:19

@KM89 congrats! I was asked to go to the doctors to provide anytime sample. They tested and have referred me to the midwife. I am expecting a call in the next week or so. I would give them another cal as 16 weeks is way too long x

Maple1990 · 08/07/2020 11:22

This is exactly what is happening, very light cramping in the day then 1 big episode at night waking me up and crippled on the floor. Funny you should mention IBS, I do suffer on and off, more off nowadays, but I did wonder if it could be that. Thank you all for the words of encouragement, scan soon so hopefully will know more.
I had a blood test 3 weeks ago before I knew I was pregnant which showed low progesterone which I think is weird so worried about that too. But I will know in a few hours so I need to try and stay calm.

Charlotte2020 · 08/07/2020 11:27

@KM89 I had to register for antenatal care online. Went on the hospital website>maternity and there was a form, said they'd be in touch without 5 days. I'm in Bristol.

ALew15 · 08/07/2020 11:27

We want an early scan too. I don't think they will offer me one at my local EPU but the hospital where I had my medical management after my MMC said I could contact them for an early scan if I got pregnant again so hoping I can get in with them, otherwise it's paying privately.
We didn't tell anyone at all I was pregnant last time and I was so unwell. We told them the day we went for our 12week scan and had bad news so I definitely want to do it differently this time.
Like you said @Boredinthehouse12 may tell after the early scan all being well? Nervous!

Flittingabout · 08/07/2020 11:34

Hope the scan went well Maple.

My cramping has ramped up and Dr Google suggests it is normal and I don't need to do anything if it doesn't take my breath away and isn't associated with bleeding so I can keeping fingers crossed. It comes and goes throughout the day and apparently if ectopic it wouldn't and paracetamol and a warm water bottle wouldn't help (both of them do).

KM89 · 08/07/2020 11:37

Thanks both I will look into it further. Its nice to have a place to talk to others 😊 x

Sussexbysea · 08/07/2020 12:24

I’m SO excited to be here! This is a miracle baby!

Just started the pill because of being put on medication for an overactive thyroid, and I’ve got PCOS and some how those beautiful two lines appeared this morning.

This is baby number 2, and I’m cautious to tell anyone until 12 weeks as I miscarried in September last year at 8 weeks.

Congrats to you all!!

Christie08 · 08/07/2020 13:56

Hi everyone congratulations! I am due 7th March so currently 5+3. This is #2 for me. Is anyone else experiencing any brown spotting?

Sussexbysea · 08/07/2020 14:09

@Christie08 I’ve got very swollen boobs, heartburn and feel sick. Not had any spotting yet, I’ve heard that’s very normal though

Maple1990 · 08/07/2020 14:23

All fine so far on early scan. I'm not as far gone as NHS website says so couldn't see my little sesame seed, but everything is looking positive x

Christie08 · 08/07/2020 14:25

@Sussexbysea part of me wishes my boobs would swell Grin I don't have many symptoms yet this time round, just tiredness, bloating and sensitive nipples! Yea I've a call with the doctor tomorrow because last week I was still getting 1-2 weeks on clearblue so have been a bit concerned about that!

Bb90 · 08/07/2020 14:28

Can you request an early scan then? or does it only get offered if you are high risk?
