Hi guys! Just found out were expecting. Very early but have no one else I can compare symptoms or questions with. Also thought it would be nice to follow pregnancies together. Expected due date should be the middle of March!

Thanks.. I don't think the mw will be able to do anything, I know I'm 7 weeks but if i tell them the test gave me a bad result they will just send me away.
The first 12 weeks always panic me.
I think I'm going to book in for a private scan, the next available one is around when I'll be almost 9 weeks, I had a scan with my daughter at 9 weeks because i didnt know how far a long i was, but I do with this one... so no hope of an early scan!...so I'll have to go private.

KatyCherry23 · 24/07/2020 15:34

@Naomi89 have you been testing 1st morning wees? Otherwise dating is not accurate. I'm too scared to do another date one! It's £80 for us too for a private scan. Such an expense but I think we are going to do one if my test is still positive by then.
I've read that they can't always find a heartbeat at 6 weeks because it's too small. Has anyone else experienced this. I think it would make me even worse so we are considering waiting until 7 weeks to be sure. Fingers crossed for everyone these babies stick around.

Naomi89 · 24/07/2020 15:52

@KatyCherry23 well when I had the 3+ on the clearblue back on 16th July I did it like 5pm
But this one I did this morning I had already got up to go for a wee about an hour and a bit before hand plus about twice in the night...so not my first morning urine..I am not going to test again, I've never suffered a mc before but I've been reading about it.
I am quite crampy this afternoon not sure if that's a good sign! 6 years since I've last done this so cant remember anything!!.
My mw is phoning me on 4th Aug for my booking appt, I will mention my anxiety and the cramping but she will probably say it's all normal.
If I still feel like this near 9 weeks I'll book a private scan-I had an early scan with my first at 9 weeks and it was lovely seeing her wriggling on the screen!... fingers crossed all our babies will stick! X

Sorry to hear others have been having spotting/bleeding too. Looks like a few of us have epu scans on Monday- hopefully it will be a positive day for us all!

I'm disappointed to hear of some of your experiences with epus. I'm only 5+3 today and the gp did an urgent referral to epu for me and they're seeing me on monday- seems it's a bit of a postcode lottery maybe?

Sh4mmy · 24/07/2020 15:59

@Headingtowardsforty aww I did see this, how is it now?? Your midwife does sound very supportive! Hopefully with you resting it might ease off too!

It's good that you're still having symptoms, it's all so nerve wracking in these early stages!

I'm ok thanks, having a bit of a panic as the week before I had a positive test I had some spotting and have been having cramps on and off since. I have a scan on Monday morning so have to wait to see then I suppose, also my sore boobs and sickness have subsided so I'm trying it to freak out, but deep down I don't think it's good news 😢! Trying not to let it effect the weekend but it's definitely niggling in the back of my mind!

Hope you've managed to rest today xx

Sh4mmy · 24/07/2020 16:00

@bumblingalonghappily I have an EPU scan on Monday too, my dr was really great and referred me to them straight away and they've also been amazing! Like you said, could be a postcode lottery, not that it should be 😢

Hope you're ok x

Headingtowardsforty · 24/07/2020 16:06

@Sh4mmy I have been resting as much as possible today. In fact, I've just woken up from a nap. The aches have gone, but haven't checked to see if there's more spotting or not. My scan is Monday morning too, seems a long time to wait. Hope your weekend is okay, let me know how you're feeling and get on on Monday x

bumblingalonghappily · 24/07/2020 16:07

@Sh4mmy Yes I'm ok thank you- trying to stay positive! Had a hush of pink discharge a couple of nights ago with some cramping, and feeling much less nauseous today ☹️ Got a 3+ on clear blue this morning though so hoping that's a good sign.

Is your scan in the morning or afternoon? I'm not looking forward to going by myself...

KatyCherry23 · 24/07/2020 16:09

@Naomi89its been 6 years since my last baby too! I had no bleeding at all that pregnancy though so I'm wondering if it's just age and because everything is a bit loose. It really does sound like a postcode lottery as other's had said. I try not to get too cross but I'm a public health researcher so I can't help it Hmm

BabySweet85 · 24/07/2020 16:43

I was considering doing a private scan too - mainly so that DH can go as he can’t go to any NHS ones. What type of private scan are people thinking and at how many weeks? Anyone considering a health one? X

2020wish · 24/07/2020 16:46

@BabySweet85 my epu rang me yesterday and told me fathers can now attend? Incase u want to double check ur local epu? Private wise I’ve used window to the womb before

BabySweet85 · 24/07/2020 16:58

@2020wish thanks for that - I will ring before our 7 week scan to double check x

Clara9 · 24/07/2020 17:04

What were window to the womb like, @2020wish? Have a scan with them in two weeks, all being well.

2020wish · 24/07/2020 17:08

@Clara9 they were lovely. Unfortunately I booked it as I was having a suspected mc and the nhs wouldn’t see me. After window to womb confirmed mine they checked my ovaries and womb for me just to make sure I didn’t have potential issues that caused the loss and they also checked up on me the next day . I’ll def book them again to monitor this pregnancy

Jenw2018 · 24/07/2020 17:14

So good to hear that, I have booked an scan with them for the 12th August.

Clara9 · 24/07/2020 17:19

That’s really reassuring thank you. Anyone else feel like these are the longest weeks of your life?!

Jenw2018 · 24/07/2020 17:28

Absolutely, I spend the whole day thinking something is going to happen. It’s my first baby so no idea what to expect or if what I’m feeling is normal

Headingtowardsforty · 24/07/2020 17:34

@clara9 yes! I would happily be knocked out and woken up past 12 weeks right now!

ArtemisBean · 24/07/2020 17:52

God yes, the first trimester feels like eternity! I literally have a chart to cross the days off. I need to see my progress or I'd go insane! Hugs to everyone feeling anxious about spotting and scans. This is such a stressful time.

Clara9 · 24/07/2020 18:13

Absolutely, first baby here too. Am staying with a friend who doesn’t know I’m pregnant (all socially distanced etc), but I’m such a rubbish guest! Going to bed really early and refusing all fun sporty outings with no explanation 😂😂😂

2020wish · 24/07/2020 18:37

I’ve been having cramps also and like tugging pains when I’m cleaning the house etc. Plus I’m soo soo tired... is 7pm to early for bed :(

MB1991 · 24/07/2020 21:32

Hi everyone I hope you don't mind me joining.
I'm also due 14th March 2021, I've got a son who is 5, and had a miscarriage last year.
I'll be 7 weeks this weekend and have an early reassurance scan booked tomorrow.
I've had some aches on my left side, and occasionally on the right side.
Really sore boobs and nausea some days.
I was around 8 weeks when I found out with my son so had non of this worry.
Last year I had no pains but started spotting at 11 weeks and it was a blighted ovaium.
Tomorrow 4.30 cannot come quick enough 🙏 x

NoParticularPattern · 24/07/2020 21:39

Hi all. I’m 28 and currently pregnant with number 3, we have DD2.5 and DS1 so hands full. Not entirely sure exact weeks/days as my cycles are still a bit wonky after having DS plus still breastfeeding. According to last period I’m 6+1 but I expect that to move eventually as it did with both previous babies. We had a couple of losses prior to having DD in 2018 so first trimester worry amplified to an all time high despite two consecutive successful pregnancies 🙈. Had a slight amount of brown spotting last week but tests have continued to darken and I know as well as anyone that there’s nothing anyone can do at 5 weeks pregnant anyway and I don’t fancy endless scans and blood tests again like I had with the previous losses. Anyway it only lasted 12 hours and was barely anything on wiping plus it was after some, erm, vigorous bedroom activity and I’ve a known cervical extortion during all previous pregnancies so I suspect that is all it was. Hopefully!

Wow sorry that was long. Hello all!

NoParticularPattern · 24/07/2020 21:40

Ectropion. Not extortion 🙄

Sh4mmy · 24/07/2020 22:09

@Headingtowardsforty pleased you've been resting today! Will let you know how I get on x
