Hi guys! Just found out were expecting. Very early but have no one else I can compare symptoms or questions with. Also thought it would be nice to follow pregnancies together. Expected due date should be the middle of March!

So the spotting is back, still brown and only when I wipe. I also have niggling pain, not what I would call cramps, but dull ache.

Sussexbysea · 24/07/2020 10:29

@Headingtowardsforty oh lovely. Your midwife sounds supportive so if there’s a need for an early scan, hopefully she will get you booked in

Headingtowardsforty · 24/07/2020 10:36

@Sussexbysea I think I'm going to have to call gp and ask for a referral to epu. Husband has already said if it puts my mind at rest it's worth doing.

KatyCherry23 · 24/07/2020 10:37

Hiya. I'm due the 27th of March with my 2nd baby but my partners 1st. I have had light cramping since finding out I was pregnant and today I've had dark brown bleeding which then turned into a small amount of bright red bleeding which I never had at all in my first pregnancy. My boobs also stopped hurting a few days ago. I'm freaking out that we have lost the baby 😢 but my partner doesn't want to talk about it. Has anyone else had anything like this.

Oldermum80 · 24/07/2020 10:46

@KatyCherry23
Everyone has different experiences and some are positive and some not.
I don’t want to worry you but with my first miscarriage I had light pink water which led to bright red a couple of day later. With my missed miscarriage I found out at my early reassurance scan and it took two weeks before I miscarries and that started with brown blood. A positive is with my second child, I had pink when I wiped and an early scan showed the blood was coming from me, not baby.
Could you find the EPU for advice? They may send you for an early scan.

KatyCherry23 · 24/07/2020 11:11

@Oldermum80 thank you for sharing your experiences. I am a bit worried because my last baby was almost 6 years ago and I have endo. I have contacted the GP but they send me to the midwives unit, who never answer the phone or ring back because they have closed my local hospital and midwives unit. I really don't have high hopes for them seeing me as I am just 5 weeks. I don't think I could cope going for a scan on my own to be told the baby is gone.

Headingtowardsforty · 24/07/2020 11:14

@KatyCherry23 if I were you I would phone your epu directly. I've just spent half an hour bouncing between community midwife office and gp and have ended up phoning my epu directly. I am 7 weeks and spotting with brown blood and aches and they have booked me in for a scan on Monday morning. Going to be a long weekend though.

2020wish · 24/07/2020 11:16

Tiredness is rifle. Woke at 6 starving ate quickly and back to bed and still can’t wake up enough to get out of bed. Sorry tmi but how are all you coping with the ‘wetness’ down there. Panicking every minute that it’s AF lol 😂

aureliacecilia · 24/07/2020 11:20

Hope you're OK @KatyCherry23

KatyCherry23 · 24/07/2020 11:28

@Headingtowardsforty I think my local EPM is in the hospital that's closed so I will have to ring round and see which one is closest and if they will take me. I think it might be Bristol or Cardiff. Thank you @aureliacecilia I am just an absolute bag of nerves! I am not technically in the "at risk" age group yet but I'm not far off! I was okay with the brown blood but the red with ongoing light cramps has frightened me even though it's just a little bit. I have had a few scans in the past and my womb is always very vascular and thick even when I'm not pregnant. I'm just really hoping this baby holds on!

Headingtowardsforty · 24/07/2020 11:35

@KatyCherry23 give them a call and see what they say. Hope all's okay x

KatyCherry23 · 24/07/2020 12:03

I've rang and had a cry on the phone they said they are not scanning at all because of Covid but they wouldn't offer scans until 6 weeks anyway. She was really lovely but I basically have to just wait and do a pregnancy test in a week or call 111 if it gets really heavy or severe pains. The wait is the absolute worst.

Sussexbysea · 24/07/2020 12:06

Hope all you ladies with bleeding are ok. I’m thinking of you all and I’ve got everything crossed that it’s just the babies reminding us how precious and wanted they are

2020wish · 24/07/2020 12:13

@KatyCherry23 so sorry this is happening to you :( I had the exact same experience with my epu over covid. I was 6 weeks when the bleeding started and was distraught and told to just wait and see unless I was haemorrhaging. I booked myself a private scan to either know if pregnancy was viable and be able to relax myself of know that it was a miscarriage and be able to grieve and move on. Maybe consider a private scan? Thinking of you and hope it’s a normal pregnancy bleed xx

KatyCherry23 · 24/07/2020 12:36

@2020wish we were thinking we would go for a private scan anyway because it's my partners first baby and he is really bad with emotions so he might want to see the baby before he gets connected. But now I just want to make sure the bean is okay. I know you can't see much at this stage but as long as I can hear a heartbeat. My sister just had a baby 2 months ago and she had early bleeding and they refused to see her too even though it was way before covid. I think the maternity units are really stretched around Bristol. I had my last baby in Oxfordshire before a lot of the cuts and reforms to the NHS and they were brilliant with giving extra care.

2020wish · 24/07/2020 12:40

I would def consider a private scan then.. it will help u relax either way. Thankfully my epu are seeing my this time at 6weeks due to my pervious loses but honestly I was distraught when I was being told to just wait it out in limbo and hope for the best before so I understand how u are feeling. Be kind to urself xx

Headingtowardsforty · 24/07/2020 12:52

@Sussexbysea thanks, hoping it turns out to be nothing. Not in major pain, just the odd twinge and spotting. On the other hand I still feel sick and tired, so hoping it will turn out to be nothing.

babytee21 · 24/07/2020 13:02

I am feeling completely awful today can't even move without feeling sick.. I've not actually been sick but I kind of feel being sick might make me feel better Sad

Sussexbysea · 24/07/2020 13:22

@babytee21 I’ve made the most of having a sickness free late morning and ate a huge salad with eggs, ham and salad cream! I couldn’t get enough of it. Actually, I could eat boiled eggs and salad cream all day, everyday 🤤🤤🤤

Naomi89 · 24/07/2020 13:32

Hi I'm new to the site..I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby! Have a 8 and 6 year old already so this is all new to me!..
I'm constantly tired lately, along with headaches which are horrific and sore boobs!.
I've been nothing but anxious with this pregnancy and convinced something will go wrong.
I stupidly did another CB digi this morning & to my shock it had dropped from 3+ (when I did it on 16th july) to 2-3! I really hope that doesnt mean anything bad!! Sad

babytee21 · 24/07/2020 13:35

@Sussexbysea I normally love eggs but can't stand them at the moment in any form.. salad cream now.. I want that with everything Smile

2020wish · 24/07/2020 14:02

@naomi89 not sure what’s went on there I got a 2-3 weeks yesterday at 4 weeks and plan to take another one next week for the 3+ when I’m 5 weeks. But I’ve read some people have had there’s go from 3+ to 2-3 and they have continues on in healthy pregnancies. Also I think ur hcg starts to drop out at after 6 weeks? Not sure tho

Naomi89 · 24/07/2020 14:07

@2020wish I dont know Confused I just hope it means everything is ok. We haven't told our children yet and only my mum knows until we have a scan at 12 weeks. I just know that I will be so devastated if anything has happened, I've worked hard to come off my medication aswell. Everything was going fine, the cb have been going up as they should 1-2, 2-3 and then 3+ but have dropped back down. I have been googling all morning Sad and a few have said it can happen and still be a healthy pregnancy but others have had it and had mmc so I'm a bit anxious.
Still in two minds about booking a private early scan for 8/9 weeks although it costs £80 where I am.

2020wish · 24/07/2020 14:13

If it will reassure u I would book the private scan. I’m having one at 6 weeks on the nhs then plan to book another at 8 weeks privately If all is well just for reassurance. Until then I would put the tests away as it’s just going to cause anxiety xx

RosettaR · 24/07/2020 15:09

@Naomi89 I'm so sorry you've had a scare. You could try calling the midwives. They might be able to calm your fears. Or a private scan ...

I also had a panic this morning with some pretty major stomach pains. I do have IBS at the best of times though and find it so hard to know what's digestion and what's uterus related. I've also had diarrhea since embryo transfer (I had ivf) and that's been worrying me, but I googled it this morning and for once that was reassuring, plenty of mumsnet threads with women reporting the same.
