Hi all, this thread has been really quiet lately! Hope you are all healthy and well, really pleased to hear about your scan Makecakes and your results too. SK glad you are feeling rough but not too rough IYKWIM*.

Well I just got back from the Docs as have a lump low down and it turns out that I have a hernia. Fab.

I have been prescribed this thing to try and hold it in place which I have to put on each morning whilst lying down (will be a nice addition to my already gorgeous support stockings ensemble!). He says he's not sure if it will work though as he's not had to fit one on a pg woman before!

The good news is that it shouldn't affect the birth other than that it may pop out a bit more while I am pushing (it has got a lot bigger just in the last week).

The bad news is that he has had to refer me to a consultant surgeon. He said they may want to see me before LO is born but will prob not try and fix it until afterwards - sort of see if it goes away by itself.

All good fun! Lovely Doc though, he is the one who used to do the MW appts so he asked if I would like to hear baby's heart! He had a listen and a squidge (baby properly head down today although not engaged) and then thanked me for letting him feel it! He said he really misses doing the MW appts - I was all tearful when he said that!

Hi MrsMc!

kensgirl · 20/11/2007 18:37

Hello there!
Please can I join your merry band? I do reognise many friendly faces here , and its lovely to have finally made it this far

I'm scared!! 5+4 today, after a partial molar pregnancy in December, and I'm desperately trying to think positively, but I am terrified of miscarrying again. I had my first major wobble today, as my boobs have not been hurting, even though I have been sick, and I'm convincing myself that it means something is going wrong.

Anyhow, its good to be here, wishing you all well.xx

KashaSarrasin · 20/11/2007 18:42

Hi everyone

Lissie so sorry your stay here was so short

Congratulations Jules!!!! Fab news, I hope you have a very peaceful 9 months.

MCNW - those are fantastic nuchal results, congratulations!

BBB - hernia sounds nasty, I hope it goes away by itself.

As for me, I had some slight spotting on Friday so phoned GP in a panic, he's got me an EPU appointment for tomorrow (yup, that's a 5 day wait ). I was due my private scan tomorrow (I'll be 7+3) anyway so I've cancelled that as the EPU will also swab for infections. The spotting was brown and very slight and I haven't had any more since Friday, but I did have some mild cramping yesterday which has added the my general paranoia and anxiety levels. I'm trying not to panic too much and just try and keep calm but it's not really working - I seem calm on the outside but I keep having horrible nightmares.

I know I just have to sit tight until the scan tomorrow am and then I'll know if everything's OK or not, but the waiting is just torture...

imopop · 20/11/2007 18:46

Hello
Can I join in to? I have had 6 miscarriages after my daughter was born. Last missed m/c in june. Now 10 weeks pregnant again and have a third scan on thurs. Always get very worked up before scans. Have a clotting problem and have been seeing the fabulous Mr. Rai at st.marys recurrent miscarriage. If this baby gets born I owe it all to them.Lots of baby dust to allx

EllieG · 20/11/2007 18:51

Hello kensgirl and imopop x Here's to nice dull pregnancies!

Great news about scan makecakes!

Jossiejump · 20/11/2007 21:29

Hiya
Saw my MW today, told her about all of my fears of going overdue, she was really good and made me an appt with my consultant, who is lovely, for Thursday, which is the day before my due date. Will discuss things with him, regarding sweep / induction etc and see what he has to say.
Incredible really, I've spent the last 8 or so months praying for this little one to stay inside, now...

becklebigbump · 20/11/2007 21:40

Hi Kensgirl, welcome to the thread, lovely to see you here and hope your stay is a long and boring one. Is very understandable you are having wobbles, we all do in the early days and I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Welcome to Imopop too, sounds like you have had a rough time of it. Am not surprised you get worked up around scan dates, lots of ladies on here (me included) who have had mmc find the scans terrifying. It's great that you are being seen by such a specialist though - will give your LO the best possible chance.

Kasha, good luck with your scan tomorrow. A little brown bleeding is often common in early pg (although I know it makes us panic every time). Cramping at your stage is also common, I think it is to do with everything relaxing to prepare for the big stretch ahead! Fingers crossed for you too, let us know how you get on! Am hoping hernia will go away by itself after the birth but if it doesn't then hopefully they'll be able to fix it surgically! It's not a particularly pleasant thing I don't think but it is not really hurting me and it is not hurting baby at all so that is all that matters to me!

Jossie, it is a funny feeling when you start to wish the baby out rather than wishing it to stay in! Glad your MW was so good with you today, hope the consultant appointment goes well on Thurs!

Bouncingturtle · 21/11/2007 08:39

Beckle - sorry to hear about the hernia - hope it is not making you too uncomfy! Your Doc sounds lovely btw!
Jossie - I'm starting to wish the baby out but I've still got over 4 weeks to go! Glad you been able to discuss your worries with your midwife and she's been helpful.
Imopop & Kensgirl - welcome aboard the SS Knicker Checkers Anonymous. Totally expected to feel scared and anxious about your little beans - sending you lots of sticky vibes. I still get nervous even though I've made it to 35+3!
MrsMc - things slowing down at work yet?
Kasha - thinking of you at your scan this morning, agree with Beckle, I had brown spotting during this pg for weeks, and some cramp & back ache early on. We will be there with you in spirit.
Hotchoc - Hello and how are you doing? How's your mum these days?
Makecakes - however did we cope before the internet! Congrats on your scan, fantastic aren't they !
Sweetkitty - Just take each day one at a time, the feeling rough is a very good sign.
Ellie - I know the feeling, time seem to really drag when you are waiting for a scan, but the day will arrive.
Glimmer - Hope you are ok! We're all waiting with baited breath!
Hello to everyone else!

Mumpbump · 21/11/2007 10:18

Hello all! Life is busy with two children under two! Ds1 is at home 4 days a week - at nursery today - and ds2 has a two hour crying spell in the evenings so not much time to get on the internet. Ds2 has obligingly gone to sleep and I'm meant to be doing housework, but wanted to check quickly on how everyone was. This new format doesn't make it very easy. Hoping that Glimmer is well and perhaps has her baby

Many, many congratulations to Jules who I gather is pg again!!!!! Fingers and toes crossed for you this time around...

Hello to everyone else. Pleased to see the same names are still on here! Who is next after Glimmer - will have to go find the list!! Hello to MrsMc, Beckles - hope your hernia gets better - that can't be fun when you're pg! - and everyone else. Welcome to the newly pg and I hope you remain here for the duration...

Must go and do some cleaning before ds2 wakes up. Ds manages to trash the house whenever he's here for the day and I'm usually too knackered to clear it up at the time.

Bouncingturtle · 21/11/2007 10:30

Hi Mumpbump! Glad to see you are well, if busy!
Jossiejump is next, no news from Glimmer as yet.
New format does take some getting used to.

mcchesers · 21/11/2007 11:32

Mumpbump hello! So glad all is going well

becklebigbump · 21/11/2007 11:36

Hi Mumpbump! Glad to hear you are doing well, even if life is a bit hectic! Hernia not great but as long as it doesn't affect LO then I can deal with it.

EllieG · 21/11/2007 13:26

Scan is next fri - am very nervous/excited. I keep worrying there will be something wrong with the baby - I know is still growing cos I think I can feel it, but new paranoid worry is that it has some terrible disability

spugs · 21/11/2007 16:29

had check up with mw today, only measuring at 20 weeks when im 22 weeks though that could be as im tall (last time i had an extra checkup when this happened but not this time) bllod pressure really high to 150/88 (its normally around 110/60) but there still not seeing me till 28 weeks. didnt seem particularly bothered about it so it seems to just be because ive been rushing about lots.

MrsMcJnr · 21/11/2007 16:57

EllieG - hang in there, we are here for youx

Spugs - try not to worry, those measurements are so inaccurate, at my 28 week growth scan I was told that the baby is measuring at least a week ahead and yet at my MW appointment the following week, my fundal height was 27. Take care of yourself now. Did they take your BP before or after the measurement? mine sours up when they tell me something that worries me xx

lovelylou · 21/11/2007 18:14

Scan not till december 7th, feels like so long away. Cannot stop worrying x

CharlesandEddie · 21/11/2007 19:23

kasha thinking of you !! hope today went well and that you are re assured - by the sounds of things more of us have a bit of early bleed /muckiness than dont!! gosh it is so hard and all absorbing!

Hi everyone. Thanks for the best wishes but it was bad news Sac and yolk present but no fetal pole and the sac was collapsing. They offered me the choice of ERPC or going naturally, and opted for the ERPC. There was a bed free so they admitted me straight away and I had it done this afternoon. Everyone at the hospital was fantastic and I really can't fault the NHS on my treatment.

I'm feeling very sad but also numb - this was my second m/c in 3 months

Good luck everyone, and I hope to be rejoining you in a few months as we're planning to TTC again as soon as I've recovered a bit.

CharlesandEddie · 21/11/2007 19:49

oh no kasha you poor thing i have been there and empathise with you...
you sound very brave and pragmatic about it all - look after yourself x

DonDons · 21/11/2007 20:41

Hi girls... I've been a bit quiet for a week or so but still lurking around keeping an eye on you all (esp you Mrs McJnr - not long now hey?!). Feeling a bit weird as tomorrow would have been anniversary of due date from my MC..

EllieG - hang in there not long till we get to the magical 20 weeks - my scan is next Thurs so am rooting for you!

Kasha - so sorry to hear your news

Feeling okayish this week but getting uncomfortable sleeping and Egg booting me at all hours now (maybe future footballer?)

Also, been ripped off on e-bay by dodgy seller so am feeling sore and £55 down

sweetkitty · 21/11/2007 20:49

Jules - can I join you, between that and the constant knicker watching I'm quietly going mad?

Mcchesers - you are right big week for us both x
