Jules and Lissie! xxx

OracleInaCoracle · 16/11/2007 11:55

wow, so many famillar names

MrsMcJnr · 16/11/2007 12:19

P2B ? hope the referral comes through quickly. Be careful what you read, speaking from experience, it can make things worse x

Cece ? they might change the scan date hon

Spugs ? poor you, hope you are feeling much better now.

Welcome and congratulations NervousMummy we have all been in your shoes and know exactly how you feel. That early scan should reassure you and will give you a milestone to work towards. Keep talking

Ejt ? glad to hear all is well hon

Beckle ? let?s hope you baby starts getting into position soon!

Jossie ? hope it happens soon hon, chin up!

Glimmer ? same to you, keep those spirits up!

Lissielou ? hon I am so pleased for you but will moderate my excitement until you get further along, keep well and I have everything crossed that this one is a keeper. Lovely to be on a thread with you again xx

Ohhh Jules as with Lissie, moderated congrats for you too but my skin is tingling and I am so pleased if you need any support/guidance/tips on the jags, give me a shout, they really aren?t as bad as they sound xx

All fine here had our tour of the labour ward last night, scary, it made it very real!

mcchesers · 16/11/2007 12:36

Scary stuff this prego business. I was just saying that I got my maternity record in the post today and it's just sitting there. I felt really sick flipping through it as the reality of being a mum is starting to sink in. All I can associate pregnancy with is living in the loo and choking down prune juice and of course the mc.

Does everyone go into Acute Services Division, or is it just for us timid ladies who have been through mc?

DH has been really good about keeping everything on the QT and keeping me chilled, but last night I lost my cool and flew off the handle for no reason. oops.

It'd be great if we could just hibernate for the next few weeks, eh?

MerlinsBeard · 16/11/2007 12:41

Lissie!! Jules!!! I got goosebumps when i saw your names infact, Lissie, you were just on my mind this morning-how odd!

Will rein in my excitement for you both as i know that you both have many milestones of your own to get thru before you canbe truley happy xx

Just wanted you to know that i am really pleased for you both xxx

lovelylou · 16/11/2007 13:25

Hi everyone. Went to see midwife and i cannot have a scan till eight weeks so just hanging around hoping for the best. This is going to be the longest two weeks ever. Hope everyone is well x

mcchesers · 16/11/2007 14:08

I'm right with you lovelylou it's no fun the waiting game. I go back on the 28th, you?

MrsMcJnr · 16/11/2007 14:27

McChesers ? what?s Acute Services Division? Is it like the Early Pregnancy Unit? You won?t always associate pregnancy things with bad things hon

goingfor3 · 16/11/2007 14:35

mcchesers not really sure what the acute services division is, could be part of the early pregnancy unit or could be the hosptial division the maternity department is lsited under. I understand how ahrd getting your notes are, when I got mine this time round I felt as if I had filled in the last set so recentley. I think I'm going to avoid have a triple blood test done this time as last time the results came through the door the day I came home after my mc and I don't want to make that association again. I also aviod drinking orange juice as that's what I was drinking before mc. Pregnancy after mc can make you go a bit crazy to say the least!

mcchesers · 16/11/2007 15:14

Thanks MrsMcJr and Goingfor3- I think you are right about the notes. Just a reminder. I'm going to fill it out and be excited about my booking in appointment. DH says he has a good feeling about this one and I do too. I think Acute Service is meant to mean short term instead long stay.

spugs · 16/11/2007 17:02

lissie and jules congrats on your bfps

feedmenow · 16/11/2007 17:15

Hi Lissie, hi Jules!! So good to see you both here! Wishing you both lots of stickiness (am now thinking sticky toffee pudding, bread and butter pudding, etc, etc )
Jules, good to hear you have appt next week.
Lissie, have you had any luck with appts to find out what has been going on? Will you be getting any extra care?

ejt, when you say snorting salt water, do you literally mean sniffing it up? Thats sounds really horrendous, like when you get water up your nose at the swimming pool! please give me further instructions before I make a complete arse of myself!!

Janus · 16/11/2007 17:42

Big wave to Lissie, so remember you from the hut when I was feeling so miserable with the ftc, so glad you are here with us now and everything crossed that it stays that way.
Hello Jules too, so good to see you here, the ladies here are soooo helpful!
Am still giggling at picturing feedmenow snorting salted water but I imagine that is what is required, just thinking of your first attempt! Good luck with that!
I know what you mean about notes etc. I still can't face sending my free prescription form in as this arrived after my last mc so don't want to tempt fate, would rather pay for any damn prescription. Wonder if we all have funny little superstitions??

OracleInaCoracle · 16/11/2007 18:11

FMN,im having a scanat 6w,havehad some spotting the last few days so might even get a scanat5wjusttoruleoutan ep. then i assume that i will get fortnightly scans.

CharlesandEddie · 16/11/2007 18:12

Hello all

I am feeling bleak and blue and not at all hopeful
tomorrow i will be six weeks and have convinced myslef that the daily tests are getting lighter....

i seem to have no symptoms apart from - wait for it- the never before listed pg symptom of 'stinging eyes'

not tired not sick not nothing
have been pg before my youngest child is 18 months i have had a horrible m/mc in 2004 and m/c in july

my worst fear is mmc
sorry ranting but driving myself wild- before getting pg i am so pragmatic and now I am sooo NOT

OracleInaCoracle · 16/11/2007 18:42

can you call your epu and explain, ask for a reassurance scan

goingfor3 · 16/11/2007 18:58

CharlesandEddie every test can give a different strength of line, even if you lined up 10 tests of the same brand dipped in the same wee there would be some variation! I'm 12 weeks and have bearly felt tired or sick, I certainly didn't feel any sickness or tirdness for the first 8 weeks or so even my boobs didn't feel tender for that time. I feel worse this last week than before. Someone on here posted that if you have been pregnant recently you don't feel the symptoms so much as your body remebers the hormones and doesn't react as much. I'm not even going to tell you to relax as I know it's nearly impossible but do look after yourself.

CharlesandEddie · 16/11/2007 21:01

thankyou both for that
lissie - I cannot face epu - cant face the not knowing but having said that have just paid for private scan next saturday

thanks for the statement about the tests - i sooo want to believe it!

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 16/11/2007 21:04

Just catching up and wanted to say hang in there ladies

Not so long ago I was a knicker checker.Convinced I would mc or have another stillbirth.

Still not at the finishing post yet but two weeks left and baby kicking like mad so feeling confident

Keep strong
xxx

Jossiejump · 16/11/2007 22:22

FMN and Beckle-Thankyou for your messages, I know we will love the baby no matter what, that's why I couldn't risj amnio, just to find out as after the mcs (even before mcs) we wouls keep the baby no matter what.
Jules-I've injected heparin all the way through this one, if I can help with advice or anything please shout!

cece · 17/11/2007 07:35

Jossie - I can completely understand your worries. I too have had a 1:50 high risk screening. So think I will be in your position in May .... Thinking of you.

kd73 · 17/11/2007 08:02

I just wanted to send a massive congratulations to all your pg ladies, but particularly to Jules and Sweetkitty who I remember provided me with great support in August following m/c.

So thank you and good luck!

Bouncingturtle · 17/11/2007 08:30

Jules & Lissie, congratulations to you both, here's to uneventful pg. IN particular {{{{{hugs}}}}}} to Lissie, I've followed your story and I know what a really shit time you have of things, lets hope all things a repostive now. I'd be very surprised if they don't give you fortnightly scans. You take it easy and think "Healthy & Well".

Yesterday was my last official day of work . Sadly was very busy, had a couple of meetings, and then was tolds I should have taken on 3 new starters not 2! Lucky I had had a good crop of applicants and was able to get in touch with one of the unsuccessful ones who happily has accepted .
I'm out with work tonight - and they they got me a lovely gift box with cute baby things - baby grows, sleep suits, bibs and a cuddle robe which was lovely! I will be going back in on 3rd December to do a bit of training with a new manager who is starting on Monday, he is supposed to be doing the monthly report I do, I have left instructions how to do but it is really complex so I felt it better if I went in and did it with him so it would make more sense to him! But apart from that I'm looking forward to a last few weeks of being a lady of leisure - my last ever chance before baby comes on the scene! I really admire you mummies who already have dcs, how ever do you cope! I guess the answer id you just do coz you have to! I'll guess I'll find out for myself... lucky I have all you guys to advise me so I don't feel so apprehensive about being a mum. It's been really hard because I have no family any where near me and my nearest friends are 25 miles away, thank God for Mumsnet I say .

Bouncingturtle · 17/11/2007 08:30

whoops misplaced space, should have been "are positive"

marymalone · 17/11/2007 08:34

Hello Ladies
feeling okay today....5 weeks. trying to stop doing yet more tests, as boobs still hurt on and off but nowhere near as mush as before i got my first bfp. however still knackered, peeing all the time and a little queasy.

charlesandeddie i understand completely where you're coming from! i did a clearbluedigital 2 days before af due and got bfp. then boobs not so sore 5 days later and did 2 tescos cheapies in quick succession mid morning having already peed loads and drank loads that day, bfps but fainter than i'd hoped for. did 2nd digital one last night which was still positive, then found myself taking the test apart and freaked out as line wasn't as dark as control line!!! i did take it at 6pm though, and should've been 4 + 6.

why oh why do we do this to ourselves? with ds, i took only 1 test, so wouldn't know what subsequent tests looked like and how dark the lines get. all i can say is that we must STOP testing and chill out, after all, all this worry will not change the outcome, whatever it is. just enjoy being pregnant, until proven otherwise!!

wish i would listen to my own advice!!

congratulations to Jules, Sweetkitty and
Lissie and hope i didn't miss anyone
