well the highlight of my day has been sitting on the loo with a bucket in front of me while i threw my guts up and had the most severe case of the runs ever [bleuggh emoticon] feel like poo and ended up keeping dd2 off school as i had no one to take her. shes been great though helping with dd2. havent thrown up for a while so hopefully over the worst but saying that have just risked a cup of tea!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 14/11/2007 17:40

glimmer - remember me? good luck with the impending ( very soon i am sure) birth! i went 10 days overdue this time and its crap isn't it? not sure any of the old wives tales really worked but i tried acupressure. i looked on the internet for the right spots to press!

nervousmommy · 14/11/2007 17:41

This is my first time on this site. I was reading before I decided to join and found it very helpful. I'm 6wks preg again after a mc on 8/3/07. I'm REALLY nervous! not very excited, but then SOOOO excited at the same time! my doc gave me a prescription for an ultrasound next week, just to ease my fears- i'm so scared...will i be able to see anything @ 7 weeks?

ejt1764 · 14/11/2007 17:46

Glimmer - thinking of you - keep thinking those postive thoughts, and visualise your beautiful baby in your arms ... the day will come - you won't be pg forever!

I have been for my post-natal check today - all is well ...

healthy and well, healthy and well ... love to all going through the trauma that is pg after mc!

mcchesers · 14/11/2007 18:08

hey welcome nervousmommy- I'm sure an early scan will set you at ease. I just had my early scan at 6 weeks and could see a little sac with a yolk in it. They will measure it and tell you if you are progressing. Don't worry..it's going to be fine. Just like the ladies keep saying give yourself little milestones. healthy and well.

goingfor3 · 14/11/2007 18:13

nervousmommy congratulations, at 7 weeks you are likely to see the babies heartbeat.

rubles · 15/11/2007 08:52

I just came on to find out when glimmer was due and I find she is overdue an cranky. Oh dear, hang in there glimmer..have faith in your body, it'll start labouring when it is good and ready.

Bouncingturtle · 15/11/2007 09:06

Morning everyone, hope we are all healthy and well.
Nervousmummy - welcome aboard!
Hi rubles - how's it going!
Glimmer - still hanging in there... you won't be the first cranky over due lady... and I'll doubt you'll be the last. Sending you labour vibes, c'mon Gimmer Baby you want to meet the world and the world wants to meet you!

Janus · 15/11/2007 11:36

Hello everyone, welcome to all the newbies, you will find this thread so much help I'm sure.
Goingfor3, such good news about your scans, I'm sure the regular scanning will make you feel so much more confident and in-charge and just think how often you'll see your little one! Your consultant sounds fantastic.
Glimmer, good luck if you're not already there! I found lots of walking/excercise (mostly tidying the house!) and some accupuncture helped things along but I was 4 days late with both so sure it was just their time! Hope it all goes smoothly for you.
Cece, I don't know if the timing has to be exact on these scans but it is certainly worth a telephone call to discuss. I would call asap too as I had to arrange a scan about 2 weeks ago and every scan for 3 weeks was taken, they had to slot me in in the end but it was difficult.
I'm off for another consultant visit this lunch time, hopefully everything will go to normal after this one. I think it's to discuss my scan I had last week regarding the length of my cervix, nice!!! Had so many appointments now I don't even ask what they're for!

becklebigbump · 15/11/2007 12:00

Hiya all, glad to see you are all healthy and well (despite a lot of nervousness, which is to be expected). Welcome to all you new guys to the thread too!
Spugs sorry you are feeling so rough , is bad enough to be ill when you are not pg with 2 others to look after, hope you feel better soon x
Glimmer, can't believe you are due tomorrow! You were only 11 weeks when I joined this thread and such a support to me - hope LO decides to arrive soon! Also, hats off to you for working so close to the birth! I have another 3 weeks left until MAT leave and am more than ready for it now!
MrsMc it is strange when your name starts to get near to the top of the list! I think I am 6th in line now! Scary (but exciting) stuff!
Jossie, how are things with you, not long for you either now!

Well I am keeping well at the moment, had MW yesterday and all seems okay although LO is apparently lying quite akwardly. It is head down but nowhere near the pelvis! She said it was quite scrunched up and it's back is on the wrong side at the moment too - hopefully it will settle soon though, I am still carrying very high too. I guess the lack of stomach muscles gives baby more scope for movement!

marymalone · 15/11/2007 12:18

afternoon everyone!
well i'm a lot calmer today, this thread is just what i needed. just wish i could get some sleep....is insomnia a pg symptom too?? also coffee beginning to be an unbearable smell, shame as i love my morning decaff!
glimmer i agree....walking helped me a lot to get things going, and the acupressure point is in the inside ankle, a little higher than the boneyist point, iyswim!
thanks everyone for your welcomes and info.
do most of you think a 7 week scan is a good idea (if i can get one)? or best to calm down and try to wait for the 12 week one??

mcchesers · 15/11/2007 13:33

Hey Mary- Glad to hear you are feeling better, me too! As far as insomnia..I've been drinking a tea called Sleepytime by Celestial Seasonings and you can get it at Sainsburys. It's been great for me and is safe for you in pregnancy. maybe that will help.

Jossiejump · 15/11/2007 14:21

Hi Beckle-yes just a week and a day until due date, but am really impatient as DS1 was 2 weeks early, DS2 was 1 week early and I was convinced that this one was going to be born at the start of November! Had a teary time today as I had a panic about my down syndrome risk (1:55), which I had come to terms with but now I want the baby out so I know what I am dealing with and am getting worried about it again.
I am going to start the acupressure (have been researching on the internet) and I keep eyeing up my bottle of Clary sage oil .
DH is on night shift next week if LO hasn't arrived, so I will be a nervous wreck about anything happening at night

fettleandbabyfettle · 15/11/2007 17:51

Glimmer - so can't believe you're due - those horrible few months back in early 2006 seem so very very long ago now don't they!!!!

So pleased for you that you've made it this far - let's hope for an easy labour now!!!

Big hellos to everyone else - Toby is doing fine - can't believe he's 8 weeks old now -1st set of jabs this morning, which bizarrely have made him more smiley than normal!

Take care all and I hope and wish that you all get through your pgs smoothly to finally hold your own beautiful bundles of joy!!!

xxx

Bouncingturtle · 16/11/2007 07:07

Last day of work! Woohoo!

EllieG · 16/11/2007 10:09

Do you mean for the week or forever?

feedmenow · 16/11/2007 10:34

Hi all!

Welcome newbies! Good yo have you here with us. Take small, steady steps and you'll find you get through this horris time. And we're all here to listen to your worries and hold your hands!

Fettle - 8 weeks? It amazes me how pregnancy can drag so but then those early weeks with your LO just seem to fly by!

Bouncing,, you are SO going to get nothing done at work today!! Do you have plans for pampering yourself before the birth?

Jossie, I never knew you'd been given a high risk for Downs. I completely get where you are coming from about just wanting to know now. Seeing as I'm not in the position you are in you may well think I am talking rubbish, but I have thought about this quite alot recently and really believe that something like Downs isn't the "life sentence" that people used to believe it was. Your baby will be beautiful and adorable if it has Downs as it will be if it has an extra finger, or a birth mark, or any other thing. You will love it and it will love you. I really hope though that the waiting comes to an end for you very soon. xx

I am still feeling rather rough. I don't know if it is pregnancy related or virus related or a bit of both. But I am getting so sick of the near constant headache and the pains in my sinus region. I can breathe fine so can only imagine I have some sort of deep congestion. I'm contemplating reloxology to see if that would help it. Anyone got any experience of using a complementary therapy to shift something like this?

Janus · 16/11/2007 11:16

feedmenow, I have had accupuncture for bad headaches with all 3. First time it stopped after one session, second after 2, this time it goes but does come back after a while. I definitely think it does help. This time around I have 2 children, various animals to walk/look after, other half away alot, we have just put our house on the market, etc, etc, so I think it is stress. I also think I don't drink enough water (does decaf tea count??) but I feel so much more chilled after a session, may be worth a try? It is horrible though, I have to have paracetemol but don't like it. Good luck.

becklebigbump · 16/11/2007 11:30

Jossie, it is understandable that you have been worrying about your LO's Downs risk but there is a very good chance baby will be fine. I love what Feedmenow said about your baby being beautiful and adorable - she is right and if you are given an extra special baby to bring up then I am sure it couldn't ask for a better mother than you.
Fettle, lovely to hear news from you and little Toby! 8 weeks!
FMN, your sinus pain etc could be caused by excess mucous (bleugh) in your sinuses as all your body's fluids increase when you are pg. Hopefully it will clear soon!
Janus I am sure that decaf tea does add to your fluid count - after all, a cup of tea must be at least 80% water!

EllieG · 16/11/2007 11:31

Have you tried that 4head stuff? You put it on, looks like a pritt stick, and is nice and cooling for the head

OracleInaCoracle · 16/11/2007 11:41

can i dip a tentative toe in please ladies? for those of you who dont know my story i have 1 ds (31m) and have had 5 mc's and 1 ep since he was born. found out this week that i am pg again (4+3 so very early days) had some spotting but no real blood and no pain, so maybe this ones a sticker!

mcchesers · 16/11/2007 11:51

I just know it's going to be fine Lissie!
You are more than welcome here.

ejt1764 · 16/11/2007 11:51

hi lissie - thought I might see you here!! Congratulations on your bfp - really hoping that this one sticks!

feedmenow - I have found that snorting tepid salt water really sorts out my sinus pain when I have a cold - I am very prone to sinus problems, and as I'm bf can't use the usual suspects - but I have to say that the salt water is even better than sudafed! Tastes disgusting mind ... I have you cd here and ready to post - just need to get my behind to the post office!

Must go, madam is stirring - I think my boob might be needed!

EllieG · 16/11/2007 11:52

Sending you lots of sticky uneventful vibes lissie x
