Hi Everyone

I have been keeping up with the news just not posting. Was very pleased to hear about the positive scan results and very to hear about rude medical people.

We had our 20 week this morning and everything is fine. We also found out we are having a boy. (We have a DD already, we werent bothered what we got just very nosy to know!)
MOM I know how you feel. I was convinced that they would say "um, thats just fat Mrs Winky, there isnt a baby in there" despite me feeling kicks for a couple of weeks. Hope your scan goes well xxx

Bouncing very glad to hear you can finish a bit earlier.

Hello everyone else...

feedmenow · 31/10/2007 14:45

Congrats Winky! Now you can get down to the serious business of coming up with a name

spugs · 31/10/2007 15:34

congrats on your boy winky

mom - good luck for your scan tomorrow, it'll be fine

i still have to wait a whole week for mine and its dragging, occassionally think "oh bugger, what if somethings wrong?" but otherwise feeling fairly confident about it all. it definitly helps that the little one moves fairly regularly.

bit hte bullet today and ordered my bugaboo, put a deposit down on it and paying the rest of over the next few months. get it delivered a month before im due. feel all excited now as it makes it seem more real.

my (in my opinion) huge bump is apparently not that big. bumped into a friend whilst out sorting bugaboo and she asked why i wanted another pram. nearly fell over whne i told her not only was i pregnant but 19 weeks. will have to stick a pick on my profile.

EllieG · 31/10/2007 16:46

Hey all - congrats on the scan winky and boy news!
I REALLY want to feel mine move - am so impatient I keep poking it but it refuses to budge. Am only 16 weeks though so I suppose just have to wait. Am so ginormous though it doesn't seem fair I am this fat and can't feel anything!

WinkyGhoul · 31/10/2007 19:31

Ellie its mad isnt it? I kept on looking at how long the baby was and looking at my big my stomach was and thinking "what is it doing in there?" Mine only starting moving around 18 weeks

Spugs good luck for next week. How exciting to have ordered your bugaboo. Our Phil and Teds arrived and is up in the loft

makecakesnotwar · 01/11/2007 10:33

Winky- a boy, how exciting! Who was it who was talking about the willy wigwam- you'll be needing one of those

PS- I am flosspot with a new name....felt like a change

EllieG · 01/11/2007 11:02

What is a willy wigwam?

makecakesnotwar · 01/11/2007 14:09

Check [http://www.willywigwams.com/them] out Ellie

makecakesnotwar · 01/11/2007 14:10

Check them out [http://www.willywigwams.com/ here] Ellie

Try again...this link thing very tricky

MerlinsBeard · 01/11/2007 16:17

back from scan

seems the worry is far from over for us.

baby is fine - nothing abnormal detected but i have a low lying placenta, well much more than that. Its RIGHT at the bottom completely covering the entrance to my womb. I am back to knicker checking and twinge analysing as i have to go in immediately if i get either of those. Luckily i live close to the hospital!

I am being rescanned in January to see if its moved but by the position its not likely it will have moved enough. Means i will prob have a section but will talk it thru with mw 2mo. I know home brith is DEFINATLY out

DonDons · 01/11/2007 18:19

Oh MoM - sorry you have to worry - but be honest - we're all knicker watching anyway...just remember healthy and well and we're all rooting for you.

Flosspot - but I loved the name Flosspot! I call my secretary Flossie and I love her too! Campaign to bring back Flosspot!! (am going slightly mad)

Well I am feeling like utter crap this week, MS is back and I have a horrid cold which of course I can;t take anything for and bizarrely Egg has decided to disappear ack into my pelvis so the 'bump' I thought I had last week has gone again. Keep feeling little 'burps' in my womb area though - is this the baby or am I kidding myself? When should I feel it? (Am 16+3 now).

Also just found out I'm Rhesus D negative.... leaflet doesn't look too bad but yet another thing to worry about...

Hello everyone else [hsmile]

torres · 01/11/2007 18:36

Hi Dondons- I'm rhesus negative too. I think the main drawback is a rather painful injection, I remember being given one after the erpc. If your DH/DP is rhesus negative too you won't need it, unfortunately my DH isnt!

MOM- so sorry for more worry. I'm glad they are going to rescan you. Do you have to rest up more?

Winky- wow! and a little boy

Flosspot- I love this name too

Ellie- It'll be great to feel our LOs won't it?

Spugs- how exciting to have ordered a bugaboo. I am looking forward to starting all the shopping though as this is No 1 I don't have a clue where to start. Think I will need to read MrsMc's posts (what would I do without her!!)

well its my 12 week scan tomorrow and am bricking it. have been very crampy the last couple of days but am trying to tell myself its because I am worrying and also because I've been packing up my office. Deep breaths, healthy and well, healthy and well....

cece · 01/11/2007 19:03

Hello everyone,

just started a new thread as the midwife phoned me an hour ago to tell me my nuchal fold test and blood test have come back as 1:50 chance of downs syndrome. don't know what to do!?

She has given me loads of info about extra tests but I am unsure about having them.

MrsMcJnr · 01/11/2007 19:17

Evening ladies

Well said to Bouncing Feedmenow that?s great about the big kicks

Fabulous Cece ? lovely news about your scan

Torres ? just one more sleep I?m glad you are feeling sick ? meant in the nicest possible way LOL ? sorry at your zip busting ? what?s a zip again? haven?t worn clothes with them for a while! LOL about my posts ? I still have a few more to run; slings, changing mats etc

Flosspot/makescakesnotwar (lol at the new name ) ? you?ll be 29 weeks before you know it hon the last 10 weeks have flown and I want them to slow down now ? still have so much to learn and so many books to read I FINALLY heard from the NCY today, I registered in July problem is that I have now enrolled and paid for another course ? Can?t decide whether to go to both or not or if it is a total waste of money ? will wait and see how much the NCT course actually costs!

Janus I am more relaxed than I was but the problem for me is that I have blood clotting issues and they can lead to late miscarriage or stillbirth and though I am doing all I can by injecting heparin and taking aspirin daily, I can?t really relax until my baby is born and I know it is safe from a clot. Most of the time I am really upbeat and positive though as I can see the bump growing, can feel the baby kicking and moving and the 4 weekly growth scans are going really well to date how are you feeling? that is a wonderful Nuchal result, congratulations

Beckle mat leave 7 weeks tomorrow for me ? that still feels like a really long time to work the pillow is great thanks, really comfy, I?m still sleeping badly but I don?t think I can blame the pillow ? DH keeps stealing it though! sorry about the iron levels, I?m not really sure what the effect is, but I think it is more the effect that it will have on you than the baby. I am taking Floradix just to make sure my levels stay good.

Bouncing ? sounds like you are making some progress at work, please don?t grin and bear it or compromise though, if they are not ok about you going early, go and see your MW and get signed off, I doubt it will take much ? if we can see you are stressed and under too much pressure, I am sure she can hope you had a lovely evening with your friends

MOM nice to hear from you, sorry about your cold though, hope you feel better soon. Really glad to hear the baby is fine but I am sorry to hear about the placenta, a worry for you fingers crossed you?ll have no issues and that the January scan shows improvement. Sending hugs xx

Hello Goingfor3

Winky wonderful news, congratulations!! a blue one too

Hello DonDons hope you feel better soon. If this is your first baby, all should be fine with the Rhesus blood, do you know by any chance whether your DH is ?ive or +ive?

Spugs keep those positive thoughts going for your scan I know how exciting it is ordering the bugaboo we ordered ours a few weeks back

EllieG won?t be long before you feel movements hon

Exciting weekend for me, my 2 sisters and 2 nephews are coming to stay with me! My nephews are 1 ½ and nearly 4 (4 next week) and we are planning lots of activities and a pre birthday tea for DN1 neither of my sisters have seen me since I was 8 weeks so hopefully they will see a huge difference in me

Bouncingturtleskulls · 01/11/2007 19:20

Hey everyone, had a lovely evening with my friends and baby Luke, who is 6 weeks today. He is lovely. Was giving him a cuddle and it occurred to me that I'm gave to have a baby just like him in a few weeks! Doesn't seem real!
MoM A colleague's wife had a low lying placenta, it's called Placenta Praevia. She had an elected caesarian a week before her due date. Mum and baby doing fine, baby was a whopping 8lb12! If the placenta is blocking the cervix, if you go into labour it can be dangerous as it will come out before baby and cut off the support. I expect you will be monitored very closely, and if it doesn't move you'll be booked in for an elective cs. It is good they have spotted it now, as the docs will know what to do, so try not to worry.

MrsMcJnr · 01/11/2007 19:20

Cece - crossed with you hon, sorry that you have that to worry about, remember that it means that you have 49 chances that the baby will be absolutley fine. I remember deciding at the time of my nuchal that I would not do any intrusive tests, I couldn't bear to run the risk after my MC, that said, I did have a 20 week scan and luckily there were no soft markers for us. I really hope lots of ladies give you helpful advice

DonDons · 01/11/2007 20:44

Hi all - thanks for kind words. DH is +ive. Cece - still 98% chance everything is fine... hugs to you.

sweetkitty · 01/11/2007 21:57

Hello to everyone else, and hope you all have lovely weekends - MrsMc - am sure your sisters will see a difference!

DonDons · 02/11/2007 09:52

Hi Sweetkitty - welcome and hope your pg is totally boring and uneventful!

Still feeling rubbish so have taken day off work....

Calling MrsMcJ...resident expert....Laying in bed about an hour ago and thought I could feel the 'burps' again, decided to watch my belly for a bit (makes a change from knicker watching ha ha) and honestly saw a little bump (about the size of a 5p coin) pop up three times. Baby or wind??

EllieG · 02/11/2007 10:00

How far on are you now DonDons?

DonDons · 02/11/2007 10:13

EllieG · 02/11/2007 10:14

DonDons · 02/11/2007 10:25
