Oh Mich, so sorry. I had a mc 2 years ago and tried to get right on with things and ended up with a bad infection as I think I overdid things. I also cried myself to sleep for at least a week and my dp was so worried because he didn't know what to do, to be honest there was nothing he could do. I so remember him saying 'we can try again' and me shouting 'but I want this one', so sad thinking of it all. I hope you are managing to get through.
Well, the big 12 week scan tomorrow (it's actually 11 weeks but they are doing it a bit early because of the possibility of me needing a stitch). I'm blocking it out mostly but know tonight is going to be crap, probably not much sleep. I still 'feel' pregnant, ie feel sick, but sometimes I worry I am making myself feel sick, if I could do that. This is the stage where I found out my other baby had died, with no signs from my body, so am terrified it could happen again. Fingers, toes, etc, crossed, will let you know.
Hello to everyone else, sorry this is a quick post.

MerlinsBeard · 23/10/2007 20:51

Janus thinking of you for tomorrow

mrsmcspooky hooray for more scans!how many weeks are you now? about ...erm ...26/27? I still get bouncy for you when i see you post here - wierdo that i am! Do you know what you are having?(other than a baby)

feedmenow how are you doing? I purposely didn't reply as i didn't know what to say but wanted you to know i was thinkingof you x

I am still here, not posting much as am really down at mo. too many things (not pg related) for me to go into here. On the bright side i have my 20 week scan next week bu tthis week is dragging!

Bouncingturtleskulls · 24/10/2007 07:26

Janus - good luck with your scan. Sending you lots of good vibes.
Mich -{{{{hugs}}}} Maybe you take a little time off work? I had a week off with my m/c and should have taken longer as the Monday I got back, I was on the phone to a recruitment consultant who I'd mentioned to a few weeks before hand that I was pg and I started crying down the phone to her when she asked me about maternity leave cover!
MrsMc - so far so good! It is good that they are taking extra care of you, these regular scans must be so reassuring. You've just about made it to the final hurdle!
Feedmenow - How are you doing? Have you had a chat with DH about his going down the pub?
Flosspot - ebay rocks - I have bought all my maternity wear, plus sheets & covers for the moses basket from ebay. One of my Dh's colleagues has bought a sling from ebay!
Dondons - rofl at MW! good to hear the heartbeat isn't it? I'm off there tomorrow!

EllieG · 24/10/2007 09:00

Janus - thinking of you today hon. Hope all is well xxx

hotchoc · 24/10/2007 09:37

just popping in to say hi to everyone, i've been working more and lost the thread up til now, should keep up more now that i am finally on maternity leave. day one today, hooray.

had a sizing scan yesterday because my last s was huge and it was fantastic to see the little face of my baby and even some fuzzy wuzzy hair. it was such a surprise to get so excited, i finally at this late stage,am relaxing and enjoying pregnancy!! the baby looks fairly average size thankfully.

mrs mc how are you doing? good luck to all those on scan countdown, it is so nerve wracking especially early on.

those lucky enough to have had their babes, how are you all, hope it is going well, this final countdown is quite something huh, i'd forgot the huge mix of emotions that whoosh over you.

we are still at the 'what on earth are we going to call this baby?' stage, i'm sure something will jump out as perfect soon.

love to everyone and fingers crossed for anyone at a nailbiting stage. hotchocx

torres · 24/10/2007 10:23

just a quickie, will try and catch up later.

Good luck with your scan today janus- I think we are at the same stage (11 weeks today) and I've booked a private scan at lunchtime as I've had a wobbly few days as this was the stage I had a mmc and my symptoms have died down again (though I am hoping theyve died down because Ive been fretting about the date).

So now just have to get through the morning at work ...

EllieG · 24/10/2007 10:33

Best of luck torres x

gingercat12 · 24/10/2007 11:55

Good luck Torres and MrsMcSpooky!!!!

becklespookle · 24/10/2007 12:01

Feedmenow, doesn't sound very fair that he leaves you with such a share of the parenting. My DH does that too but at least he is working and therefore contributing to the household. I like DonDons suggestion of the laxatives...
Good luck with your scans today Janus and Torres, looking forward to some good news from you both later x
Hi Hotchoc! Can't believe you are on maternity already! Remember when you got your BFP, just a couple of weeks before I got mine! We are struggling with names too, we have a boy's name but a girl's name is still eluding us! We had sort of settled on Evie but if baby is born on either Christmas or New Year's Eve then I think that one is out the window! Same with Mary or Holly...

feedmenow · 24/10/2007 12:12

Morning all!

Dondons, I love the idea of the laxatives!!!!! Only problem is, it would be me who ends of cleaning the loo after the "explosion"!!

Janus and Torres, good luck for your scans. Being at the stage where you lost your other LO is just awful, I know. It's a real rollercoaster at this point, feeling so excited yet so scared, still mourning your lost LO, but trying to be positive for this LO. I don't envy you being at this point atall. But rest assured, you WILL get past it and gradually you will start to feel more relaxed.

Mrsmc, I remember when I joined this thread at 5 (ish) weeks and you were 14 (ish) weeks, and you seemed so far ahead! And now I am 19 weeks and you are 28! It feels sort of nice that you are a step ahead of me and I know that whereever you are now, I will be there soon! If you don't want to know the sex of your baby you'll have to be really careful at your scans to lok away at the right moment, cos the bigger they get the harder it is to avoid seeing things!!

Hotchoc, hope you are enjoying your first day of freedom!

Everyone else OK?

Janus · 24/10/2007 13:18

Good news!!! The little one was bouncing around all over the place!
Can't put into words how awful it was walking back into the place where I was told at my 12 weeks scan last time that the baby had died. I burst into tears as soon as I sat down! My dp was lovely though, kept reminding me how sick I feel!
Had a nuchal, waiting for the bloods too but she said the fold was very small and this was a good sign. Could see the arms, legs, feet, etc, amazing how much develops since the 6 week scan.
I'm so emotional, keep bursting into tears, but am so glad.
Thanks everyone so much for your good wishes and positive vibes, it truly helps.
Torres, we are exactly the same, I am 11 weeks today (although they said 11+5 today but I'm sure on my dates), I'm due 14th May, is that yours too? I'm sure you will be on here soon with your good news, everything crossed for you.
All I can do is !

becklespookle · 24/10/2007 13:41

Woohoo Janus! So glad all is well. There is no need to explain to us how awful you felt at the scan, most of us - especially those of us who have experienced the shock of mmc - already know. So glad you got through it and saw baby bouncing around! Sounds like Nuchal results could be good too!

EllieG · 24/10/2007 14:10

Fantastic janus! Am so happy for you, is making me well up! That's exactly how I was during and after my scan and the relief is tremendous, just getting past that time feels like a milestone.

feedmenow · 24/10/2007 15:03

Wonderful Janus!!! Here's to bouncing babies!

MrsMcSpooky · 24/10/2007 15:29

Hey Flosspot sounds like you are really good at eBay, I must practice more!

Thanks Mich10 ? that is really sweet of you, especially given what you are going through. Sending hugs x I really hope we see you again soon, if you ever want to talk just come and find me

Janus ? wonderful news on the scan hon it?s a lovely relief when it goes well especially when all you can think about when you go in is when you went in last time expecting it to be ok and it wasn?t. Healthy and well hon keep hold of today?s image and remind yourself if you get a wobble.

MOM lovely to hear from you! How are you? 20 weeks wow! I?m 28+1 today thank you for getting bouncy for me still I get that way too! Beanie?s sex is still a surprise! sorry to hear things are getting you down, we are here to listen anytime hon

Bouncing ? thanks hope all went well at the MW.

Hello EllieG

Hotchoc how are you?! On mat leave fab!! How exciting about the scan and the hair I wonder if I?ll see that how many weeks are you now? Do you know what you are having? I?m 28 weeks and hope we still come away tomorrow not knowing the sex!

Hey Torres ? 11 weeks hope the scan went well.

Beckle ? that?s a good point for Feedmenow I like Evie and I would have never have thought of that connection with the dates!

Feedmenow ? I know! In some ways the weeks have flown and in others they seem so long don?t they 19 weeks! Wow! Of course you?ll be at this stage I think the same when I see Beckle and Bouncing and Glimmer and Hotchoc ahead of me we?ll all get there!

torres · 24/10/2007 16:08

Hi all

Good news here too, everything was fine! Despite all my adrenaline the baby was fast asleep and not moving which was a bit disappointing but just as the woman was finishing the scan the baby obliged by rolling over and having a good stretch.

I feel so worn out by the emotion, I need a good lie down!

Janus- am so so pleased for you too. Yes I'm due on 14 May too according to the private place i just went to and homerton epu (but according to UCH its the 15th and my GP says 17th- all supposedly based on LMP!). Whereabouts are you based?

will do my best to catch up on everyone elses news xx

cece · 24/10/2007 20:22

Hello all,

Janus and Torres great news about your scans.

I have been away for a few days and so much has happened on here! This thread moves quickly doesn't it?

Fettle - yes I remember you! DH didn't really change his mind, this one was the result of our summer holiday... and he has been OK about it

fettleandbabyfettle · 24/10/2007 20:26

Cobngratulations on the good news scans!!!

hope all goes well tomorrow, Mrs!

Cece - good on DH taking it well - and glad you had a good holiday!!!
Be thinking about, esp next week at your scan.

Big waves to everyone else - losing track who's up next after Grande Dame Glimmer - hope you're ok, Glimmer - not heard from you in while?!

xxx

Bouncingturtleskulls · 25/10/2007 07:49

Janus - congrats on the scan - wonderful news
Hello to everyone else!

MerlinsBeard · 25/10/2007 09:49

great news on the scans Janus and Torres

Janus · 25/10/2007 11:02

Oh ladies thanks so much, feel like you were all with me!
Congratulations Torres, what a relief eh?! Fancy being the same day! I'm at Kingston Hospital but we are looking to move, again!, so may not be there by the end. We had our first at UCH, 7 years ago now, I believe it is modern now! We had a real scare in the delivery and they were fantastic, I think the best hospital I've been to, despite the paint falling off the walls at the time!

hotchoc · 25/10/2007 11:31
