bloodsuckingLOONEY it's very normal to feel like your period is comming in the early weeks, it is just stretching pains. I'm still getting them at nearly 8 weeks.

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 18/10/2007 14:20

Thanks You don't know how good is it to share these things and be reassured

MrsMcSpooky · 18/10/2007 14:41

Beckle ? I?m good thanks, tired and really can?t be bothered to do any work, it?s awful really I have no interest at all, some days it really bothers me, and I used to be so diligent

BSL ? congratulations the early weeks are scary, especially if you?ve lost a baby before your symptoms sound pretty much what I had, I think those cramps are stretching. Stick with us; we?ll get you through

VictorVictoria · 18/10/2007 14:47

MRsMc - I too cannot be bothered to do anything at work. Just whiling away the hours every day until I can go home. Going on hols for 2 weeks next week then back for 5 weeks (max depending on what my 32 week scan says about my placenta) theh that's it till sept next year.

My only problem is that my DS 2.4, who is lovely in many ways, gets incredibly upset if I am in the house but not with him IYSWIM. We are keeping our nanny for the duration of my maternity leave but its going to be pretty boring if he is screaming for Mummy every time I try and have a rest/feed a baby etc. Not to mention upsetting for him and me.

Mind you, there is a pretty high chance of me being admitted to hospital before this baby is born so this may all be academic.............

spugs · 18/10/2007 14:48

Nh - your beans are lovely (and do look like beans

ginger- congrats on the scan and your baby boy.

just had complete emotional melt down as bought a baby book and started filling in the 'waiting' bit managed to make 3 mistakes and have a complete benny!! so much for no emotional out bursts so far

am trying to pursuadde myself that i do not need to purchase my bugaboo yet, im getting far to over excited and want it NOW!!! will only end up sitting looking at it and end up using it for dd2

MrsMcSpooky · 18/10/2007 14:56

VV ? I?m glad I am not the only one. That is going to be tricky with DS. I guess you will have to make sure that the nanny takes him out for long periods so that you get a break or maybe pretend to be out? Guess that might be hard when the baby comes though! everything crossed for your scan. I?m glad to see you?ve been talking to Fruitful, is it similar what you both have? I really feel for her stuck in the hospital for all this time. Keep well

Spugs - there is an 8 week lead time on the Bugaboo remember!

spugs · 18/10/2007 16:05

mothercare said straight away?

MrsMcSpooky · 18/10/2007 16:38

They must have them in stock then as if you have to order them they need that period of time at the mo. Do make sure that they are planning to sell you the latest one, easiest way to tell is that the collapse buttons are now on the inside of the arms then its the new one (like the Gecko)

flosspot · 18/10/2007 16:55

OK people- need advice and calming down....have been gettin quite severe cramps, and pain in my shoulder for the past 20 minutes or so....can't get through to EPU asthey are closed for the evening and doctor's surgery closed for planning meeting. Waiting for NHS direct to call me back.

Hoping I've just done too much reading, but worried about mc and/or ectopic.

gingercat12 · 18/10/2007 16:58

bloodsuckinglooney We all had the cramps. Apparently they are normal. I actually had them up to my 3rd (thankfully) missed period.

I thought it was a boy, but I did not know up to know. It was my 20-week scan, and it was great. Loads of technical glitches, but I am happy to watch LO for as long as it takes All I understood from the rest of the commentary, that all is well so far [fingers crossed].

Now we have to think about names, and travel systems (and stuff I do not even know about). So I'll have to re-read your comments and the product reviews. Thank God for MN.

gingercat12 · 18/10/2007 17:00

flosspot Can you not go to your maternity hospital or A&E? Sending you lots of positive vibes and very gentle hugs.

DonDons · 18/10/2007 18:13

Flosspot - go to the walk in centre at the hospital if you have one - don't spend all night worrying yourself crazy.

BSL - another voter here for cramps in the first 8 weeks - just keep saying to yourself 'healthy and well, healthy and well....'

Had my scan today... still 14+2 although the sonographer and the MW had a row about whether I was 14+3.... as if it makes that much difference! Egg still in there, waving away but the pictures aren't great as Egg was in breach position (shy I think!). 6 weeks till the next showing!

Take care all xx

feedmenow · 18/10/2007 18:52

Evening all!
Flosspot, are you still getting the pains? Try and stay calm and relax (so much easiry said than done, I know!). Maybe take some paracetamol and see what that does? And remember, tummy pains and shoulder pains do not have to mean the worst (although should of course be checked out). In my way of thinking, we all know that tummy pain and shoulder pain together can be caused by ectopic and by appendicitis, but I often wonder if it couldn't be caused by something as simple as a bit of constipation? I could be talking complete crap, but it kind of makes sense to me!
Winky & Spugs, am that you only have 2 weeks to wait til scan. I don't get mine til 22 weeks, so nearly 4 more weeks of waiting for me!
Ginger, fabby that your scan went well! Really pleased for you. So reassuring, isn't it?
And Dondons, you had a good scan too! Good for you!
There have been so many posts that I can't keep up with everything, but I hope everyone else is fine and well?

goingfor3 · 18/10/2007 20:41

Flosspot I hope all is well with you.

I had some bleeding just now . It was old blood hopefully just caused by all of the rushing around I was doing today. I was feeling so positive this morning but not anymore.

becklespookle · 18/10/2007 21:09

Floss, no real advice, just a {{{hug}}}. If you are worried and going to stress about it then I would go to A&E, just to put your mind at ease hun.

G43, {{{hugs}}} for you too hun, old blood is good so please try not to worry, I have bled in all my pgs, it is very common.

becklespookle · 18/10/2007 21:11

G43, I meant to add that you should stop rushing around so much and try to rest a bit too but pressed the post button by mistake!

Bouncingturtleskulls · 19/10/2007 07:15

Morning everyone, congrats on those who have just had scans, fab aren't they - makes you wonder how women coped before ultrasound! NH101 - your twins look wonderful
Also welcome newbies, get your frustrations and worries here, we've all been there!

Work is very trying, one of my very recently recruited lab techs has quit, bascially he can't cope with the job, it is a very busy lab and our staff have to multitask, plus he is oversensitive and the rest of the lab team have quite strong peronalities. Plus the drivers and operators can be rough and ready! So he feels he doesn't fit in. From my perspective, I was unhappy with the fact that I have to spell each task out to him, and doesn't appreciate that we have very tight deadlines on analysis and so is far to laid back. He is fine if you give him one task to do, but when other tasks of greater priority come up he will not do them. He is more of a hindrance that help to me and the other lab staff. I was prepared to give him another chance by getting to work with my lab supervisor but he has beaten me to it by handing his notice in! But the comments I have from most of my lab team is that he just didn't seem to be able to multitask, and didn't seem to have a lot of common sense! Oh well, he'll be going back to his old job of data entry in a bank, I guess!
In addition to this it has now been decided that my site needs to go to 24/7 working, which means that no only do I have to recruit a replacement but I also have to find 2 more technicians!!! I asked my boss a few days ago about the timescale for this, and he said his boss says asap! Which means I need to recuit now! Boss & I have filled in relevent paperwork but now his boss is backpeddling and saying, we need to consider different structures! WTF?? I have to get these people in and start their training and leave out some kind of plan to move forward to 24/7 (working 12hr continental shifts) in the 6 weeks I have left!! He is really is an utter knob.
I am so looking forward to the weekend, Dh and I are going to a wedding reception tomorrow night and on Sunday he is taking me swimming!

EllieG · 19/10/2007 09:02

Hey bouncing - sounds like your job is a bit stressful at the moment hon, try to take a step back when you can, remember it's only work (easier said than done I know)

floss - how did it all go yesterday? Did you get down to hospital? Hope everything is OK x

Goingfor3 - hope you're OK this morning too, try not to worry about old blood am sure it's fine x

bloodsuckinglooney - congratualtions lady! Don't fret too much about pains, I had almost NO symptoms this time - just sore boobs, VERY hungry and stretchy pains but everything is fine. Here is a good place to be for all these worries though, so keep talking x

MrsMcSpooky · 19/10/2007 12:32

Oh Flosspot I hope you are ok hon. What?s the latest? I really hope you are ok. I?ve had shoulder pains in early pregnancy and convinced myself it was an ectopic, it wasn?t, it was just the tension I was holding in my back from worry. Thinking about you x

Gingercat ? I think mine?s a boy too but I could be very wrong! friends of mine had a baby girl this week the first baby girl in the last 12 babies born to friends! go on, share your names!

DonDons ? that?s great news hon, hang in there

Feedmenow hello.

Goingfor3 ? hey hon stay positive but do get the bleed checked out, given what your cervix has been through, it could be an old wound. Everything crossed. Please rest! X

Hey Beckle Hey Ellie

Hello Bouncing ? hey, that job of yours is sounding extremely stressful again, please try and distance yourself a bit, I do worry about yours and your baby?s health ? 6 weeks and then you are not allowed to even think about work for a while ok? Have a great weekend x

MerlinsBeard · 19/10/2007 13:58

Floss, just adding that i am thinking of you too

feedmenow, my scan is 1st November so 2 weeks for me to wait too!

gingercat12 · 19/10/2007 14:23

MrsMcSpooky I'll have to draw up two lists of names for first names and middle names. I'd like one of them to be Hungarian. I was just thinking if it is a girl in the end, it will be a nice surprise still. I am so happy he is so calm and looking healthy.

EllieG · 19/10/2007 16:13

Hey all - have lovely weekends

ejt1764 · 19/10/2007 16:32
