@MilsCookie thank you so much for that.. I can't wait for my scan to see my baby (twins are in the family and my friend is adamant I'm having twins.. I don't think so though!) I've got the 4head which works great but I have to reapply loads!

Does anyone have any advice for how to take my mind off this?
My hospital have been awful and they didn’t even give me my 12 week scan I had to chase which they finally did for two weeks time and today they told me it’s been cancelled and moved forward by another 10 days! I am so upset. I can’t wait that long for my scan. I’ll be 14 weeks then when my originals scan would have been 12weejs and 6 days.
I’m already anxious and worried as it’s my first one and feeling a bit different the last week or so but to then move a pregnant woman’s scan during an already stressful time is just not fair. I don’t know how to get through these next 3 weeks. I feel so disappointed...i knkw it’s just another extra 10 days but everyday seems long when I’m seeing it the baby is ok.
I’m also facing some pregnancy discrimination at work and I’ve cried all week which I can’t imagine is good for my baby. What’s supposed to be a happy time has been such a sad and isolated time for me..with a lot of stress

@Positivetime I'm sorry this has been a bad experience already. Could you possibly book a private scan. X

@Positivetime oh no, sounds awful hun! :( so sorry you have to go through this... why are they giving you a hard time at work though??

I would also suggest a private scan, and big chances you can have your partner with you as well!

Stay strong girl, don't let a bunch of idiots take your happy event from you!

BabyG123 · 02/07/2020 20:36

@Positivetime how very unfair of your work. Do you work in a large business? Like it's here a HR you can disclose to?
You're unbelievably protected in the work place when pregnant so look up your rights and lay them down, might scare them a little!

Also shit on the scan note!

@Positivetime have you had your booking appointment yet? If you have, did your mid wife give you any contact details, so you could contact them and see if they can help.

It’s frustrating that different hospitals scan people at different weeks, and if you are at a busy hospital, often the appointments are nearer the end of 8-14 weeks, than around 11-12 weeks. I have my scan tomorrow, I will be 13 weeks, but think I might be 5 days ahead, based on when I ovulated, I told my midwife at booking appointment in the hope I’d get a scan sooner, but I don’t think I did.

Like @WhoUsedMyName said, can you get a private scan for reassurance?

There are lots of maternity rights to do with discrimination in the workplace.

Hope you are having a chilled evening xx

@Positivetime throw the pregnancy and discrimination act of equality 2010 at them with a big middle finger

Thanx guys I’m definitely doing that to them! Just shocked I’m going through it as never thought any work place could behave the way they are with me.

Yeh so the hospital just changed it due to some issue on their side. I’ve asked them to keep me informed if any earlier cancellations.
I’ve rang window to the womb and they don’t do the same dating scans that nhs scan would be so I guess I just have to wait if I want to truly know if everything is ok.
Never mind such is life!

So lovely reading all of your posts, makes me even more excited and has put my mind at rest too!

@Bubbabee the meds seem to be taking the edge away - I forgot what it felt like to not feel sick.

@cattypeggy welcome to the group! I feel you and wanting things to improve by 12 weeks. I am 11+2 and sorry to say mine peaked around 10 weeks and yesterday I have in and rang the doc for anti sickness meds which touch wood seem to be working. Have 10 days worth so hoping by the end of that I will be coming out the otherwise but if you are suffering with nausea and or sickness def ask to try.

Anyone else at 11 weeks feel belly stretching and a bit achy? Xx

Morning ladies,

Sorry I've been so quiet and watching silently. My symptoms seem to come and go- for a few days I didn't feel a single thing no nipples being sore or cravings or vomiting or nausea absolutely nada and I panicked and bought a test and poas 🤦🏽‍♀️ I know I know it's normal to have the symptoms come and go as coco bean gets bigger it's just a lot of stress.

But I woke up this morning with a big ball of phlegm so all is well lol I am now officially 10 weeks and already starting to show (3rd pregnancy) am I the only one 🤷🏽‍♀️

Hope your all well, the scans are all amazing and I'm so happy your little beans are growing bigger ❤️💙💜
Welcome to the group @cattypeggy.
@Positivetime I'm so sorry your dealing with BS from work and your hospital you may want to ask for a change in hospital if you don't feel like your being taken care of properly, with work you can always write a letter to HR reminding them that you are all on furlough under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme which entails that they can't not fire, harass or bully a women in pregnancy as it is against the law and throw some colourful words

@cattypeggy Hi I’m also from the North East and also due the 28th January! Small world. If it makes you feel better I’m slowly starting to feel a bit better but I think it might be just me getting used to the symptoms haha!

Aww lovely scan @StephS1984 🥰 Also noticed the hospital name and I was born in that hospital! ❤️

MilsCookie · 03/07/2020 13:44

@Pol96 it does seem more common MN, but you have to remember that people will come online and use forums like these for support after they've experienced it, so the odds will seem higher. I know lots of people who've had healthy pregnancies and don't use mumsnet! I'm sure everything will be fine 😘 have you had any private scans?

Report
MeganC104 · 03/07/2020 14:07

Our scan was today and instead of being 11 weeks 6 days I'm actually 12 weeks 2 days 😂

So, boy or girl? What do we think?
