@MilsCookie yeah exactly, you hear more of the sad stuff because these places are great for support. And no, I have almost booked one many times but then decided against it.. My dp is allowed to my scan so unless that changes I won't be getting a private one (until later)

Hey ladies had my scan today, everything was fine. Measuring 13+1. Baby was sleeping so couldn't really good photos, but just very thankful all is ok..
lovely to see all your scan photos too.

@WhoUsedMyName That's a very good point. I guess the difference is scans generally take place in hospitals do if there was an outbreak it would potentially be more devastating than in a pub just sit to heading more vulnerable people present.

Nevertheless I'm being a bit of a hypocrite as me and DH were both gutted he couldn't come to 12 week scan and we're really really hoping he'll be allowed at 20 week one.

@MilsCookie I had a private scan at 9+5. My nhs scan isn't until 12+6 and my husband is not allowed to attend. It is our first child so I wanted him to see the baby too. I also got really freaked out because I have had zero symptoms. No nausea, boobs are fine, no more tired than normal, no food aversions. I was really worried that something was wrong. The private scan provided reassurance that everything was fine = £90 well spent.

@Pol96 that's so good your partner can come with you to your 12 week scan, mine couldn't 😔 so had a private scan at 8 weeks so he could see.

@jax1986 I'm totally with you, I think especially for first time parents it's such a shame that dads are missing out on these special moments that don't come around again. Hopefully by our 20 week scans the rules might have relaxed a bit 🤔

So today the hospital rang me and told me my consultant app will now be over the phone 3 days later because she's on study leave!! I get the strange times but one of the reasons I was placed under a consultant was because of my MMC at 15 weeks. I am 13+2 now and will be 14+1 when she rings. I'm just so nervous 😟

@Bubbabee Oh that’s so disappointing. Every day really counts when you’re feeling anxious. I’m counting down the days till my 12 week scan as anxiety levels are high after an MMC last year. But I’m just trying so hard to stay positive and congratulating myself on getting through each day. We can do it!

I actually had a call with a ex midwife earlier who said we are all being neglected through lack of appointments and being checked on!

@Jean82 when is your scan? I'm trying to stay calm, it's just when I go to bed I get such bad cramps and bad trapped wind. I know it's good to have symptoms but I just need constant reassurance. I'm a nightmare..
@BabyG123 wow that is shocking. I know it's a scary time but it is too be pregnant in a pandemic or not. Us women seriously go through a lot.
I keep asking my partner is my bump is shrinking and if baby is ok 🙈 I'm losing the plot haha x

Quick question has anyone received their maternity notes in the bounty folder? I'm just wondering when we would get them considering that the booking in appointment was over the phone and I haven't heard anything from my midwife since.

Feel very strangely ok today. Not as tired, not as nauseated and I feel my bump has shrunk 🙈 I'm just being paranoid right 🤦‍♀️

@Bubbabee I've been the same I've had little to no symptoms and it honestly makes me worried. I would rather have them all then none at all just bcos I had my triplets mc in Feb that's what got me in a mini panic mode. But I don't want to keep poas just to reassure myself and I don't want to keep going to the epu for assurance either they'll start thinking I'm a hypochondriac

@Bubbabee I've been doing the same just trying to keep myself as calm as possible but honestly it's hard.

I want to throw stuff at my oh sometimes bcos it's like he doesn't get it- he just looks at me like your pregnant not broken a leg but again he doesn't have to go through what we're going through and cry when it doesn't work out so I get really frustrated with him.

Hi ladies, how are you all feeling?

I'm a bit worried today, I got bad cramping on my left side since this morning... no blood but it won't pass.. I've been really constipated recently, I hope it's just this but I manage to go to the loo a bit (sorry tmi) so I would have expect the pain to go away.. I hope it's not bad sign :( do you guys get period type cramping sometimes too?

@lilypad88 literally all the time I do have fibroids not sure if it's anything to do with them but I get them bad x

@lilypad88 yes I get a few cramps by my ovaries that come and go - try to rest and relax. I think it’s normal xx

@Bubbabee My scan is next Thursday, I’ll be 11+5 by then. We went for a private scan at 7 weeks just to see a heartbeat and it was reassuring for about two days and then the anxiety set in again of course. Plenty of cramping, aches, soreness and nausea to keep me believing but at the same time is so easy to go to that dark place. But I’m sure all will be fine with both of us! It’s just hard when you’ve had a bad experience, it takes the innocence away.
