Congratulations everyone who's had they're babies in the last few days and another baby update from me!

Our tiny little girl was born on Sunday 20th, nearly a week overdue but only 5lb 9oz! The birth started well but labour was long and due to her size she couldn't handle the strength of my contractions so we ended up in emergency c section after 48 hours of labour - not going to lie, it was tough and I was exhausted by the end! But I'm so proud of her and feel so lucky to have had the amazing staff we did to help us have her delivered safely.
We're still in hospital while she and I recover but luckily my husband can stay with us too so it's been a lovely little bubble ❤️

Good luck to all the ladies still to go, my birth experience was very far from what I hoped and I still have a lot to process about it, but I can honestly tell you whatever happens, it's so true what they say that when the baby arrives you will not feel that you somehow failed if you didn't have the birth you hoped for. It's still the best best feeling in the whole world and we have done amazingly to create these little people 🥰

@loobeelou 39+1 here and still pregnant too! Having false alarms every night, pain, tightenings etc. Feel like I got my hopes up after seeing the mid wife on Friday and her telling me I was 1.5-2cm and favourable etc. Thought I'd have had the little one before the weekend was out 🤣looks like I could still be pregnant for new years! 😵How are you feeling? I'm getting very impatient now. Happy now though that husband has finished for Christmas so gonna squeeze some nice activities in whilst we can. Off to the beach today for a dog walk and takeaway hot chocolate ❤️

@Katbaby same here regards contractions etc, some days it's like it's all systems go and then others it's like I'll be pregnant forever! 🤪😂

I’m with you both, @Katbaby and @loobeelou! 39+6 today and sometimes feel like it could be any time and sometimes it feels like she’ll be very late. I’d love for her to arrive tomorrow though as it’s my husband’s birthday too! I haven’t had any of the early signs like plug going or loose movements, so not feeling too hopeful. I suppose happy to let her keep cooking until she’s ready anyway (but still fingers crossed!) xx

@MaverickDanger 41+5 today, being induced tomorrow. I've had curries, pineapple, gone on walks... Baby is not budging. Hope it happens for you soon!

Good luck tomorrow @SettyBuarez - I’m being induced on Sunday if he doesn’t arrive before then. I think I actually prefer the idea of him arriving then, at least I can enjoy Christmas!

With the exception of Mumsnet, I’ve stopped using my phone to reply to social media & text messages from people asking how I’m feeling, if I’m impatient, what I’ve tried etc - like I’m somehow doing something wrong.

The only people I’m replying to are those who are not talking anything baby or labour related, or my one friend who is the only person I know who was also overdue, and also got induced at 40+12.

@MaverickDanger I don't really post on social media anyway but I've had messages from a couple of friends who have said they'll be thinking of me today, and a couple from friends who have been overdue but not induced telling me to think of the end result and that I can do it. I completely get why you've done that though. I think the person who is going to be getting the brunt of "what's happened" messages is my sister who told her boyfriend's mum I was going in! 🙈 Fingers crossed for you for it to be soon!

Hi ladies sorry to jump on the thread, I was on one of the older ones but dropped off once it was full. Was my due date yesterday so had a sweep at 12, waters broke last night around 9pm. No contractions yet but I'm still hopeful, but if no joy then I'm back in tonight for induction to start. My chances of having g a christmas day baby are looking very likely atm

@Charlottejade89 hope things kicked off for you but if not that the induction was good! All the best for you holding your baby now 😊

I had my last scan today at 39+3 baby weighing in at 7lb4 so ready now. Consultant offered me a second sweep but she said it would be very likely to set labour off within the next 24 hours so I turned her down, happy to wait until after Christmas day now! Seeing midwife Tuesday if I'm still pregnant so will have a sweep then instead 🤣

I'm at the Dr on Monday, I'll be 40+2, can't see baby arriving before then. As punctual as her brother 😂

Our daughter Winnifred Daisy arrived 21/12/2020 at around 03:40. My other labours were long back to back requiring ventouse. I spent a lot of time towards the end of this pregnancy trying to optimise my positions and ensure baby not back to back. What a difference it made 😬 Baby born at home
, very unplanned caught by my hubby still in her amniotic sack.

Another birth update....

Our little boy was born Saturday 19th at 5.25am on his due date.

After only a couple of braxton hicks previously, my waters/mucus plug went suddenly on Thursday 17th in the evening. Went to be checked out by maternity triage and was kept in due to my heart rate being up.

After induction by pessary and then oxytocin, I was still 0cm dilated and had no contractions whatsoever. At that point it had been 34 hrs since my waters had broken with no progression, so C section it was.

So completely not to plan but the c section was calm and straight forward and we got to go home Sunday evening.

Hi guys, my baby boy Loukas was born today at 15.49, weighing 7lbs 15oz exactly the same as his big sister ended up having to be induced, but mild contractions started after the 6 hour gel, hormone drip was put up at 10.30 this morning and managed to breath through the contractions until about 3pm, then went onto gas and air, asked for an epidural about half past and 20 mins later he was here lol
