@ChristmasEve2020 oh no, sorry to hear that! By the time I'd got to the ward the visiting hours were over so my husband had to go straight away and wasn't allowed back until 12.30 the next day. I remember crying at 11.30 the next day because I was so happy he was coming!
I stayed in 1 night and left the following day at 9pm. I think they would've preferred me to stay a second but I refused as I couldn't sleep on the ward with all the noise so couldn't see the point.

At my hospital you had to produce a certain amount of wee and establish feeding before they let you leave.
Are you planning on breast feeding? If so I would highly recommend expressing some colostrum to feed your baby. Mine wouldn't latch at all as it was so stressful and I hadn't expressed because she was early. I ended up lying and said I was going to formula feed so she got a bottle. She has since just been bf as I was able to establish it at home.

This is just my experience though. Hopefully your hospital will be better and less busy, I believe they had 18 babies born the night I was there so it probably adds to it!

Hey girls, I had my growth scan this morning and they are a bit worried about the rate of babies growth (they’re worried about the placenta not working properly) so I am being induced when they have an available appointment for me. Wish me luck!

My husband may have to have some urgent surgery tomorrow... itll only be daycare but its our due date tomorrowim terrified he is going to miss the birth and baby will appear tomorrow morning. My mum is coming over to be with me just in case but I have a horrible feeling it'll happen. My husband just keeps saying stop worrying as baby will be late but it'll just be our luck!!

Fingers crossed baby stays put for a few more days for you @Charl88 and your husband has a quick recovery.

How's everyone getting on? I had 2 hours of on/off cramps this morning and was sure it was something starting, fell back asleep and now nothing! Has anyone else had that?

Don't know if youse still remember me from the first thread (had mmc) but just popping on to say congratulations to all you ladies with newborns! I hope you all have a very very lovely Christmas!

It would have been my due date this week.

28 weeks on Friday now with a muched loved little girl, not been the easiest pregnancy and I've still got sickness but I'm so excited!❤️❤️

@calipoppy I've had cramps on and off some evenings the last few weeks. 40+1 today and nothing 😫 my other two were born at 40+1

@calipoppy I've been having cramps and contractions, mainly evening and night for about a week. Keep thinking it's finally starting but then it stops! I'm 38+5 today and dreading the thought of another 2 weeks of the same 😅

Anyones baby movements sometimes feel really sharp and painful? Feel like my bump is constantly tight and rock hard-got backache too. Trying not to get my hopes up...

@Katbaby Yes! Also have the rock-hard bump at times, and it's oddly tender just under my ribs. I've had constant backache for the last couple of days too but still nothing (40+6 today), being induced on Wednesday if nothing by then!

@SettyBuarez aw I hope things start naturally for you before Wednesday 🤞🤞 my hospital only let me go to 41 weeks so I'm guessing if nothing id be induced on the 4th Jan, but really hoping to avoid that as I want to go to the birthing centre rather than hospital

@Katbaby you can definitely push back on that, my hospital also wanted to book me in for 41 weeks but I have said no and so theyve let me delay booking - they were pushing for me to give them a date but I said I don't want to! I think it'll just make me hold out for that day subconsciously!

@calipoppy yeah I see what you mean. I'm desperate to go naturally like so I will push back unless there is a medical need to bring me on. Only 38+3 so still plenty time to go natural 🤞🤞🤞
