Seen as though it's nearly full... I've started thread 4. I wonder how many threads we get up to ❤️

Hope everyone is doing ok! 2 days overdue here and still no sign!

Had a sweep today which was bloody uncomfortable. Midwife reckons early next week is looking likely, but has booked me in for an induction on 27th December.

2 days feels like a lifetime already!

Charl88 · 18/12/2020 03:58

My baby boy arrived on Wed evening at 20:45. Planned home birth went well. I've had 4hours sleep since wed morning all he wants to do is feed 😴 he's perfect though. Hope all you lovely ladies waiting dont have too long x

loobeelou · 18/12/2020 07:38

Congratulations @Charl88 hope you are both doing well x

Katbaby · 18/12/2020 08:29

Congratulations @Charl88 good job baby turned up before your husband had to go to hospital, glad to hear you had the home birth you wanted 😊

How is everyone still pregnant doing? @Nic2908 you found baby has dropped down yet?

I think baby is definitely sat in my pelvis as the pressure is unreal. Really thought something was happening last night - but slept without being woken, although have been awake since 5 - apprehensive about seeing the midwife today - she said she would offer me a sweep and I'm terrified of hearing I'm no where near ready! So ready to meet this baba

ElsaCC · 18/12/2020 10:58

Hope everyone is doing well! My waters broke last night and went to the hospital but wasn't dilated enough so got sent home. Managed to get a few minutes sleep in between contractions and now waiting for them to be regular and close enough to go back.
If anyone has any advice on how to cope with the pain at home I'm all ears!!

And congrats on all the new babies xx

calipoppy · 18/12/2020 12:45

Congratulations @Charl88 and exciting @ElsaCC ! I've also had some drama with my contractions starting overnight, they got super close together this morning then just totally stopped. Have started up again now but much less intense/frequent 🙈

In terms of pain so far I've mainly been using breathing techniques from hypnobirthing and hot waterbottles, also finding the birthing ball is much better than sitting on sofa or in bed. And lying down much much worse for me! How about you? Hope it's not too long in this phase for us!!

ElsaCC · 18/12/2020 13:29

@calipoppy haven't tried the hot water bottles, that might be my next option. Definitely with you on the laying down!! Makes them so much painful. I found yesterday night a hot shower helped too so I'm considering having a warm bath when the contractions get closer together again

calipoppy · 18/12/2020 14:00

@ElsaCC good idea on the bath, let me know if it works! Do you have a tens machine? I got my husband to go and get one yesterday but I'm thinking I should hold out to try it as long as possible. It's so weird not knowing how much stronger the pain is likely to get!

catnip99 · 18/12/2020 14:10

Ahhh congrats everyone who's had their babies!! My little one turned 2 weeks old yesterday, he came home at a week old so this past week has been so mad just adjusting to mum life and the lack of sleep, as if the world wanted to test me anymore my section wound started pussing today😑

High risk pregnancy full of chaos, baby born premature by emergency section, baby in hospital for a week in incubators and on medication, I'm suffering with chronic hypertension so having to track my blood pressure at home while taking meds for that and now potential infection in my wound someone give me a break😂😂😂

Good luck to all you ladies who are due soon/ in slow labour though !!🤍

loobeelou · 18/12/2020 14:32

I used a TENS machine for early labour with DS. I've been using a teddy bear that you heat in the microwave for back ache and the odd contraction this time but I plan to use the TENS again when I know labour has started.

I thought things were finally starting at last, last night, had a few contractions that woke me up but no! 🤪

Good luck @ElsaCC and @calipoppy, hopefully you're not kept waiting much longer.

@catnip99 sorry to hear you've had such a tough time. Hope you are on the mend soon.

Katbaby · 18/12/2020 18:27

I've got a tens machine ready for when things start

Had a sweep today and was told my cervix is favourable and around 1cm thick and I'm around 1.5-2cm dilated and she found sweeping me very easy so hoping that's a good sign. Had a bloody show since and I've had pretty much constant period like pain since. Really hoping this works 🤞🤞 anyone had experience with sweeps before?

ElsaCC · 18/12/2020 18:35

@calipoppy no tens machine but I've heard really good things about them and I'm now regretting not getting one 🙄
Hope you are all coping well!

loobeelou · 18/12/2020 19:13

Sounds promising @Katbaby, fingers crossed.

My next check up is not until 28th but I'm hoping baby decides to make an appearance before then 😅

Sunflower0000 · 19/12/2020 03:10

Congratulations @Charl88 💕
Ooh @Katbaby this does sound really promising 🤞🏻
@catnip99 I know the feeling! Unexpected c section too then after we got home our cat had to be put to sleep and we got a leak through our ceiling 😩
These things are sent to try us and we will get through it x

For pain relief when I was in labour I found the birthing ball and doing hip movements that I learned in pregnancy yoga were really effective, like hip thrusts and swaying side to side.

So excited to hear about all the impending babies x

Katbaby · 19/12/2020 07:52

Was really hoping something would happen in the night but no joy 😒 had a bit more show this morning and still got period like pain but no contractions or anything, gonna go for a walk and clean the house today hope it kick starts something!

Sorry to hear about your complications @catnip99 hope things start looking up for you!

Bumble84 · 19/12/2020 15:32

@catnip99 hopefully you’ve managed to see your health visitor and got sorted.

My story is a bit of a whirlwind, after my second growth scan they were concerned about babies growth and decided to induce me on Wednesday. I went into labour but babies heart rate wasn’t recovering well from contractions so a c-section was recommended. Our beautiful baby girl was born on Thursday night almost a week early. I’m so in love with her it’s not true, it’s the best feeling in the world!

loobeelou · 19/12/2020 16:31

Congratulations @Bumble84 I hope you are both doing ok x

Nic2908 · 20/12/2020 02:18

Hi guys. My little boy finally arrived at 40+3 after labouring for 47 hours (this includes pre labour) we finished with an emergency c section due to not progressing.he was back to back.

loobeelou · 20/12/2020 07:04

Congratulations @Nic2908

Sunflower0000 · 20/12/2020 19:56

MaverickDanger · 20/12/2020 20:03

Ahh congrats @Nic2908 - I’ve been looking out for your news!

Enjoy the cuddles & hope you are recovering well.

Katbaby · 20/12/2020 21:16

Congrats @Nic2908! So happy to hear you have your little one ❤️❤️

Katbaby · 20/12/2020 21:17
