Seen as though it's nearly full... I've started thread 4. I wonder how many threads we get up to ❤️

@Mycrazylife85 my first baby was overdue so I thought I’d try sex with DH. Worst. Sex. Ever. So so bad, we promised we’d never ever mention it to each other again. And it didn’t work anyway Grin

@loobeelou I definitely know what you mean. The constipation in this pregnancy has been on a scale I could never have beloved. I kept telling myself it was good practice for birthing the baby!

LikeSilentRaindrops · 04/12/2020 13:29

Ha, good typo - believed. I don’t tend to love any kind of constipation Wink

MaverickDanger · 04/12/2020 13:33

@Mycrazylife85 I’ve been getting that feeling, really weird pressure & basically having to stagger/crawl to the toilet, only for there to be nothing!

38+3 today and just no signs. I’m more than a bit fed up!

loobeelou · 04/12/2020 14:42

@LikeSilentRaindrops I've been having plenty of braxton hicks and the odd contraction but when dr checked today she said they've done nothing to my cervix, it's still long and closed.

I went over with DS so not surprised she said I'm likely to go over my due date. I was just hoping we'd go sooner 😂

Some days I'll have pressure and cramping, I notice it if I've had a more active day.

ceebee21 · 04/12/2020 15:39

@catnip99 huge congratulations!

Saw consultant yesterday and booked in for induction on the 19th at 39 weeks exactly, that is unless my blood pressure doesn't come down and it will be earlier! So just 2 weeks left for me really :/

Feeling lots of odd twinges down there, lots of pressure and pain when walking etc...

Katbaby · 04/12/2020 18:58

Well I thought I'd wrote a post but clearly didn't post it properly 🤣
@catnip99 congrats on your tiny bundle of joy!! Gorgeous.
@loobeelou I had a scan today and also measuring 6lb2oz (36+4) feel like I'm also in it for a long while yet, babys bum is high up in my ribs! Bouncing on the ball like it's going out of fashion!!

Bumble84 · 04/12/2020 19:04

@catnip99 congratulations!

I had a growth scan at 34 weeks and baby was measuring 5lb5oz 🥴 I’m just hoping that margin of error is a real thing! I’ve had no niggles at all either and still feel my bump is quite high so I’m preparing to go beyond my date. Although I’m only 37+2 just now so you never know

calipoppy · 05/12/2020 09:14

I had a growth scan on Tuesday at 38 weeks and the baby was measuring 6lb 5!! Apparently that was in the normal range for me so they're not worried but seems small to me! Like you say they aren't meant to be super accurate anyway are they so fingers crossed we won't all be weeks overdue 😅

MaverickDanger · 05/12/2020 17:03

I have no idea how much he weighs! Not had a scan since 20 weeks & measuring 2cm over consistently by fundal height.

Got my 38 week midwife appointment next week (although technically will be at 39+2 due to them not being able to fit me in) so will ask, but reckon I’m looking at an 8lber+.

I was 7lb 2 and DH 8lb 2 so have a feeling he will be high 7lbs but just very long!

catnip99 · 06/12/2020 08:44

Thank you so much for the messages everyone, my baby came out of the incubator yesterday and off all his medication, they're just monitoring his blood sugar levels now and his only goal is to gain weight I couldn't be prouder of him🥲

However I have a question for the ladies who have already got children/ experienced this ..
In The hospital I was encouraged to hand express colostrum for my lil one in the nicu cause it would do him a world of good and to my surprise I had loads to give even tho I'm not breast feeding, so I obviously gave them loads and he's had the lot and loved it- now I'm faced with rock hard painful swollen boobs and I haven't got a clue what to do with them??? I can't sleep as they just hurt and I tried to sleep on my side last night and it squished the one boob and it leaked absolutely everywhere, so as someone who isn't breastfeeding how can I ease this? Please say someone has some tips to make me feel a little more human 😭😭

Bumble84 · 06/12/2020 10:13

@catnip99 if you’re not planning to express any more milk either then you can get a tablet from the drs to stop your milk production. As I f you keep expressing to relieve the pain you’ll likely keep producing.

loobeelou · 06/12/2020 10:16

@catnip99 glad your little man is on the mend.

Your milk supply will dry up if baby isn't breastfeeding but it can take a few days. You could hand express a little bit of milk to help relieve the pressure but only when you need to. Cabbage leaves help with engorgement as well.

Mycrazylife85 · 06/12/2020 12:03

Lovely news on the good progress of your little man @catnip99

I am 39 weeks today and had my 'show' yesterday. Funnily enough my husband and and I were going through a few videos not half hour before and this was covered in it. He couldn't believe it when I told him and I got the "shut up, no way".

Since then my cervix feels a little sore like the feeling you get after a smear.

Hopefully I won't need a sweep when I'm due to go back to the midwife in a week and a half

Sunflower0000 · 08/12/2020 18:46

Hi everyone hope you're ok. Another Christmas baby has made an early appearance! She was born at yesterday morning weighing 8.3lbs which is impressive at 38 weeks!
She was actually born by c section which was totally unexpected to the natural midwife led birth I planned. Turns out she was breech even though every appt they said she was head down & engaged 🤷🏼‍♀️ can post a detailed description soon if anyone is interested.
We're both doing really well though, c section was no hassle at all it's just difficult afterwards with no husband to help out in the ward. Hope you're all keeping well! @Katbaby @Nic2908

Christmas babies thread 4!
loobeelou · 08/12/2020 20:57

Congratulations @Sunflower0000
Hope you are both doing ok x

Katbaby · 08/12/2020 22:24

Congratulations @Sunflower0000 ❤️❤️

I'm doing well just plodding along now enjoying the last of my baby free days and getting ready for Christmas ❤️ bump is dropping a bit so hoping that's a good sign but does mean pressure is getting more intense down below.

Convinced I'm gonna go over though. May well be a January baba!

Nic2908 · 08/12/2020 22:47

@Sunflower0000 OH MY GOD!!! this has literally just made me cry!!!! Your little girl is beautiful!! Oh my goodness. Makes me think of the group all those months ago and wonder how the others got on. Of course all the details. I'm 39 weeks today.... convinced its going to be an Xmas day baby. Do you have a name for her??

calipoppy · 09/12/2020 09:20

@Sunflower0000 congratulations!! She's so lovely, hope you are all doing well and settling into life as a family! ❤️

@Nic2908 I am 39 weeks too and also getting more convinced I'm going to end up with a Christmas Day baby 😂 some days I feel really different as if somethings about to happen but then the next day it seems to go back to normal and feels far away! But then some of my friends have said they felt totally normal until their waters broke so I guess we just have to wait patiently now!

Charl88 · 09/12/2020 14:31

@Katbaby @Nic2908 @calipoppy same here. Im 39 weeks and worried he will be late and be a christmas day baby!! However I also need to keep my legs crossed tomorrow as its my eldest 16th and she'd never forgive me if I had baby on her bday 🤣 every twinge im like oo is this going to be it but no. Also finding myself convinced my mucus plug will be there when I go to the toilet.

@Sunflower0000 congratulations on your daughter shes beautiful

calipoppy · 09/12/2020 14:46

@Charl88 I'm exactly the same with mucus plug haha. And today I wasn't hungry for lunch and was like oh maybe this is labour 😂 no probably just the massive bar of dairy milk I ate last night still filling me up haha!

Sunflower0000 · 09/12/2020 16:56

Thanks everyone 🥰 hopefully going home shortly, had to stay in for a bit as lost a bit of blood. Feel fine though and baby is really chilled.
Breastfeeding is hard! But hopefully it'll be easier when I'm more relaxed at home.
Aww thanks @Nic2908 I know we've all gone on such a journey together. I really hope the births go well for each and every one of you and your babies are all healthy.

I would say they might even come when you least expect it....I had literally no signs, didn't even get braxton hicks ever then my waters went just like on tv 😂 but luckily I was in my bathroom!
Haven't officially decided on a name yet but hoping to convince hubby of Octavia ☺️
Looking forward to hearing how you all get on xx

Bumble84 · 09/12/2020 20:49

Congrats @Sunflower0000 she’s adorable!

Hope everyone else is coping ok. I finish up work on Friday and looking forward to relaxing a bit. I keep telling myself once works finished I’ll be so relaxed that baby will just appear. Haha, wishful thinking me thinks!

Mycrazylife85 · 09/12/2020 21:33

@Sunflower0000 eeek! A huge congratulations on the birth of your beautiful baby girl. Hoping you'll be able to rest up and relax when you are home.

I'm 39 + 3 days. Mucas plug went on Saturday but nothing...

Currently chilling on the birthing ball. Starting to feel a little anxious now which I don't want to be either. Got my nails done today though so at least my nails are prepared 🤣

KCN2020 · 10/12/2020 10:29

I feel a bit late joining this thread.
I am 38+4, a few nights of pains last weekend, lost my plug on Monday and had period type cramps, loose movements since around 3pm yesterday.
How long can this early labour phase last 😫 so disheartening when pains keep you up in the night and then don’t materialise!

ceebee21 · 10/12/2020 12:06

Hi all, another christmas baby come early. Baby born 9th December at 37+4, started induction on monday evening and had rapid developments after gel was put in on tuesday evening!

Wishing the rest of you all the very best, hoping you dont have to wait much longer! Xxx
