Seen as though it's nearly full... I've started thread 4. I wonder how many threads we get up to ❤️

Congratulations @ceebee21 hope you are both well.

@KCN2020 welcome to the thread, I'm 37+5 with baby 2. Sadly I don't think losing your plug means labour is imminent, I believe it can reseal 🤷🏻‍♀️
I've been having contractions, mainly in the evenings, for about a week. The thought of another 2-3 weeks is annoying 😩

Nic2908 · 10/12/2020 14:30

Congratulations @ceebee21 all these babies coming its lovely.

@Sunflower0000 have you made it home yet? I love the name octavia fingers crossed for you. At what point did they realise she was breech?? How are you feeling?

Sunflower0000 · 10/12/2020 15:15

Congratulations @ceebee21 hope it went ok for you x
Thanks @Nic2908 think it suits her!
We're home now, just been parked on the sofa all day!
Well it's a funny story as 3 different midwives told me at my appointments that she was head down engaged!!
So my waters went after I went to the loo about 1am and they just kept coming! Felt like I was wetting myself constantly right up until section!
Went to MLU about 3am as was getting contractions and you have to be scanned if waters go.
All was looking good, about 2cm dilated. She does the scan and baby is breech!
So no more MLU. Go to labour ward and the surgeon came to speak to us, told us caesarean is safest option so agree. We waited in a room for a bit, still getting contractions (felt like bad period pains). Then went to surgery and baby was born by 9.30!
I think because it wasn't an emergency, emergency it was all really relaxed. The spinal hardly hurt and just feels like someone is massaging you when they pull baby out. I think if you'd been labouring for ages then have one it would be harder and stressful.
Recovery is ok but have to take it really easy, feels like I've been run over tbh.
If anyone has any specific questions please let me know and I'll do my best to get back to you.
Looking forward to hearing how you all get on x

Charl88 · 11/12/2020 18:09

@KCN2020 you sound like me looking at every sign. Im 39+1.
I've been having period type cramps and braxton hicks quite regularly since early hours of this morning. Managed to have a nap this afternoon but nothing is getting any stronger or worse. Weirdly enough my boobs have started leaking this evening. Hoping its a sign or am I just clutching at straws. I had no signs with my first at all waters broke and contractions started really strongly!!

Katbaby · 11/12/2020 22:50

Congrats @ceebee21!

Glad to hear youre home and safe @Sunflower0000, loving hearing all the baby news.

Sick of hearing how high my bump is, feel like baby is never gonna come of its own accord, been walking cleaning and bouncing on the ball like a mad woman hoping to coax it down.

I know I have time yet as I'm only 37+4 but can't help but overthink. Trying to relax and enjoy and get good hormones going!

How is everyone feeling? Thread is a lot quieter than it used to be!

Sunflower0000 · 12/12/2020 07:09

@Katbaby aww bless you, I would've been the same if I'd gone to 40 wks.
My bump was always super high though, never noticed it really dropping.
You're doing the right things though and agree oxytocin is what you need. We'd started watching the latest series of big mouth the night mine started so not sure if it was that that did it 🤣
You're really close now x

loobeelou · 12/12/2020 07:15

Hi @Katbaby how are you? Hope you're feeling ok.

I'm 38 weeks today. I've been struggling to walk the last few days with sciatica and my 2.5 year old is using my lack of mobility to his advantage 🤪

I keep getting braxton hicks and the odd contraction at night as well but nothing progresses. Whenever she wants to make an appearance is fine with me, I'm done.

(Sorry for the rant!)

Katbaby · 12/12/2020 07:52

@Sunflower0000 good idea, I need good funny film / series on netflix / amazon prime recommendations. I was in a right grump yesterday that I couldn't shake so it wasn't gonna happen then🤣🤣

@loobeelou sorry to hear youre suffering with sciatica. My mum had that so bad with my sister they ended up inducing her early as she could barely walk-something to maybe mention to your midwife if it's something you want/need? Hope you get some relief. I'm fine just trying not to be impatient, I'm still managing to do most things but find if I over do it my left hip gives and I struggle to bare weight on it fora few hours but I should really count myself lucky that I'm mainly fine!

The hospital won't let me go past 41 weeks anyways so 3 weeks on Monday is the longest I'll have to do, trying to think like that hahahaa! Would have just loved baba to be here in time for Christmas. There is time yet!

Nic2908 · 12/12/2020 08:32

39 + 4 today. The wait is real, the weight is also real. Water retention is not nice, neither is the 2 holy get ups for a pee overnight haha 😆 Just keeping everything crossed he comes safely for both me and for him. We are almost there girls. Come along was from our peeing on a stick obsession!!

loobeelou · 12/12/2020 08:35

I'm going to try physio, I'm hoping a good prenatal massage will do the trick. I'm being induced on 1st if baby hasn't arrived by then so less than 3 weeks to go.

I shouldn't complain, I'm fine really, just feeling sorry for myself. Pity party for 1 😂

It's difficult to not be impatient at this stage, wondering if every twinge is the start. It's enough to drive you crazy.

Glad you're feeling ok otherwise @Katbaby we're nearly there! 😊

Katbaby · 12/12/2020 08:54

@Nic2908 so true! The pee on a stick obsession feels like another lifetime ago. Found them all in a drawer the other day.. Still couldn't part with them - is that disgusting 😬😳

I'm impressed you only get up twice in the night! I see most hours usually. Woke up this morning at 3 thinking something was happening. Turns out I just needed the bathroom 🙄

@loobeelou no judgement here. Make that pity party for 2. Hahaa. Wanting to go on a walk with my cousin this morning and it's currently torrential rain...

makingababy · 12/12/2020 14:30

Hi all! Sorry we’re all so fed up! 😂

I’m 38+3 but need her to keep cooking til at least Wednesday because of some work we’re having done at the flat 🤦🏻‍♀️ It was supposed to be three weeks ago but builder had covid in his family so had to isolate. Definitely stressed about getting it all sorted and putting the flat back in order!

As soon as Wednesday comes I want her out asap but I doubt I’ll be lucky enough for her to arrive before Xmas (due 23rd). I’m still hopeful though and she’s been fully engaged for at least a few weeks now. Fingers crossed!

I’m also only just finishing up work - I probably need another day just to get everything sorted before I can relax.

Hope the next few days are good for you all and looking for more arrival news 😊 hope all the babies that are here are well too! X

calipoppy · 12/12/2020 15:06

@Nic2908 your message really made me laugh!! We're due date twins I think, 15th? I too have found the water retention has really upped its game the last couple of days, cannot wait to be rid of it soon (although I think I'm hoping all my pregnancy weight is just water retention which is very wishful thinking🙈)

I've had back ache the last week and diarrhoea the last few days (sorry if TMI!) feel like surely it can't be long now?! Woke up with period pains this morning so hopeful but they'd totally gone a couple of hours later!

Come on little Christmas babies!!

SettyBuarez · 12/12/2020 15:55

Hope everyone is hanging in there! I'm 40+1 today so really hoping baby comes soon now!

@Katbaby don't worry about your bump dropping, mine has only dropped a little in the last couple of days.

I've got a bit of lower back ache but nothing else. I've got a sweep on Monday so we'll see!

Mycrazylife85 · 12/12/2020 18:46

@calipoppy your signs sound promising.

I'm 40 weeks tomorrow. No signs as yet. I've had a week of my mucus plug going, and sometimes find it hard to walk from the pressure on my bladder. I just had a 40/45 minute sleep and woke up desperate for a wee. I think I just made it. Mainly pressure as I stood up. I'm getting up at least 3 times a night, 2 would be a dream. I'm struggling to drink what I should though now for every one small drink it equates to about 3/4 wees.

I am due to see the midwife on Tuesday where I'll have a sweep. Not that I've heard it's done anything for anyone I know before.

I don't imagine not being pregnant or there actually being a baby snuggled in here...

Nic2908 · 12/12/2020 19:24

I meant I was getting up every 2 hours for a wee overnight. I agree only twice would be the dream!!

Charl88 · 12/12/2020 20:33

Mother nature is cruel not letting us nearly mummies sleep in the last few weeks 😭

Bumble84 · 13/12/2020 09:27

@makingababy we're due date twins. I’m also not holding out much hope for a baby this side of Christmas. Although everyone keeps saying ‘oh it’ll be Christmas day’

I’m trying to just enjoy these last couple of weeks as the last time me and DH will be a a twosome but since we can’t really go anywhere anyway there isn’t that much enjoyment!

makingababy · 14/12/2020 12:01

@Bumble84 I’ve noticed that before because I think we’re also birth year twins (if you’re 84 too). Hopefully our babies can also be pre-Xmas 2020 birth twins! 😂

NoGinNotComingIn · 14/12/2020 12:25

So nice to see the Christmas babies on this thread starting to arrive 😊. I was on the original thread for a few weeks as I was due Xmas day but miscarried 7/8 weeks. I am now 30 weeks pregnant, I have to say I’m feeling slightly glad I’m not trying to juggle Christmas prep full term (one of my other children is a v early January baby so I’ve been there before and really feel for you all heavily pregnant at the mo!).

I just wanted to say congrats to everyone who has already had their babies and wish you all lots of luck with the soon to be arriving babies 🤗 Xx

ChristmasEve2020 · 14/12/2020 14:38

I'm having a c section next Monday at 39 weeks exactly. Any advice? I'm absolutely terrified!

Katbaby · 14/12/2020 15:34

@NoGinNotComingIn sorry to hear about your miscarriage but so happy to hear you're growing your rainbow baby🌈❤️ good luck with the rest of your pregnancy

@ChristmasEve2020 no advice but just wishing you best of luck! You get to meet your precious bundle so soon ❤️ we must be due date twins, I'm due 28th but as it stands I'm being allowed to go up to 41 weeks before there will be any talk of induction.

Getting a sweep on Friday fingers crossed it gets things started!

Bumble84 · 14/12/2020 17:22

@makingababy yes I am an 84 baby! Here’s hoping for pre Christmas!

I had the midwife today and I’m measuring at 35 weeks so she is sending me for another growth scan tomorrow. Hoping that everything is still ok with baby in there. I’m certainly still feeling plenty movements.

Sunflower0000 · 15/12/2020 09:07

@NoGinNotComingIn sorry about your loss and congrats on your lovely 🌈 glad it worked out for you

@ChristmasEve2020 - I had a c section because baby was secretly breech. It is really scary at first but honestly it's their bread and butter. Even though mine was an "emergency" it was still really relaxed, staff were chatty and friendly and I could even hear the surgeons talking like normal work colleagues when they stitched me up!
The pressure inside just feels like someone is lightly massaging you and the spinal just felt like a normal injection.
I found the cannula in the hand the worse as they don't take it out for ages so it's difficult to use the hand as it's really big.

The recovery is tough though as you have to take it super easy. Do you know the visiting hours at your hospital? Ours was only 2 hours per day so it was awful being alone and relying on the midwifes to pass the baby and do everything for you so prepare yourself for that.
Please let me know if you have any specific questions. You will be fine x

calipoppy · 15/12/2020 09:30

Happy due date to me and @Nic2908 ! How is everyone feeling?

I think I feel further away that last week. Going to have a really relaxing day today in case that will increase my oxytocin haha. None of the other things I've tried have worked but maybe this will do the trick!
