@AnxiousLady1 I hear you! Always something to worry about! I thankfully saw the specialist mental health midwife at 15+5 which was great, and heard the heartbeat then which I found really reassuring. Does sound like similar movements, I think ones it’s fully on kicks I’ll be obsessing over those, there’s always something.

@Sweetpea1985 it’s totally fine! Used to be a concern but now we know it’s fine.

BuffaloCauliflower · 27/06/2020 11:16

@Sweetpea1985 though hormones in pregnancy could change how you react to dye, so worth doing a patch test even with a dye you’ve used many times before

Sweetpea1985 · 27/06/2020 11:22

I'll probably be waiting a few weeks then treat myself to a trip to the salon as I haven't had my hair done since last july Blush

Pink15 · 27/06/2020 11:23

@Sweetpea1985 I think the only (small) risk is in the first trimester as all babies organs are fully formed now, just have to grow. I need mine doing too as I purposely didn't get it done in the first trimester and then lock down happened haha ... I will book in soon but wanna wait and see how it goes with hairdressers opening. I don't wanna be the guinea pig of them trialling their covid procedures 🙈

Sweetpea1985 · 27/06/2020 11:29

@Pink15 yeah that's why I want to wait as well, give them time to work out the kinks and hopefully the rush would have settled by then as well

MillieFTM · 27/06/2020 11:37

Anyone got any tips/advice on car seats? We are considering the Joie ispin 360 - is the 360 just a gimmick or have you found it useful?
Won't be in and out the car every day as we walk/cycle alot but husband is very keen on safety for baby and it seems to have very good reviews on line.

BuffaloCauliflower · 27/06/2020 12:09

@MillieFTM I’m a FTM too so no personal experience, but I’ve read lots of other threads recently where the spinning seats are highly recommended. I like that they can be longer rear facing but then just be moved. We have a first size car seat but will definitely look at the spinning seats when DC moved out of that.

MillieFTM · 27/06/2020 12:13

Thanks that's what I thought too, going to get second hand pram but definitely wanting a brand new car seat. There's so many to choose from!!

Fouryearslater · 27/06/2020 12:18

@Happymama24 I’m utterly wiped. I’m only 18+3 but have zero energy.

@millieFTM my 3.5 is just about growing out of our joie 360s (he’s made of lead and concrete!) and it’s amazing! We’ll be keeping one in one car for this baby and using the travel system seat in the other. I don’t know how people manage to get toddlers in and out without them!

Fouryearslater · 27/06/2020 12:20

@Sweetpea1985 in my last pregnancy my hair was purple and the dye just didn’t hold at all 😔 (that was an expensive waste of time) but I’ve gone back blonde and hoping the bleach doesn’t do anything untoward 😂 desperate for my roots to be done!

MrsR87 · 27/06/2020 12:27

@buffalocauliflower

I was really nervous when I went for my 20 weeks scan last week as I've not felt any movement yet. I mentioned it to the sonographer and she said that doesn't surprise me because your placenta is at the front so any movements baby is making, he needs to do it harder for you to feel it. He certainly was moving around in there but I couldn't feel it. I'm sure I'll feel him as he gets stronger 😍

MrsR87 · 27/06/2020 12:29

@MillieFTM that's the seat we are considering so I'd be interested to hear people's opinions on it.

Murphy1999 · 27/06/2020 12:41

Hey everyone place marking on this thread but also wanted everyone to know we ha four gender scan today and we're having a little boy 🙈

MillieFTM · 27/06/2020 12:49

Thanks all, good to hear more positives about the 360 spin and Joie in general!
Looking out for a second hand Joie Chrome carry cot/pushchair as they seem reasonably priced and again have good reviews.
I can't justify spending all that money on a brand new travel system, would be alot easier to buy new but seems so expensive 😬

BuffaloCauliflower · 27/06/2020 12:49

@MrsR87 thanks Smile yes I don’t know where my placenta is. I am definitely getting some feelings like popping which I think are movement, more over the last couple of days, but as FTM it’s harder to know what I’m feeling out for!

ju1ceb0x · 27/06/2020 12:51

Hi everyone
I'm 17w+5 & due 30th Nov
Starting to feel anxious as I haven't really got a bump yet but maybe that's because I didn't have a flat stomach to start with so it's harder to notice?
Was also worried about not feeling any movement yet as the midwife told me at the 12 week scan I would probably feel it earlier than usual as the placenta is at the back. But after reading the other comments it's reassured me it's normal not to feel anything yet
Smile

NatalieH2220 · 27/06/2020 12:53

@MillieFTM Are you wanting to use from birth? Just check it's compatible with your car. We wanted this for my son as a group 1 and it doesn't fit our car. They do look really good though. We went for another Joie Car seat in the end and my son is still comfortably rear facing at almost 3.5. We had a isofix seat from birth for him and found this handy as could get him buckled up inside in the warm then just slot into isofix and go.

Pinktruffle · 27/06/2020 14:47

As companies are no longer doing car fittings due to Covid, how/where do you check to see if a car seat will fit your car? We are looking at the Joie 360i Spin

Fredthespider · 27/06/2020 16:18

We have the Joie isize 360 for number 1 and I love it. Rear facing for quite a while and little one looks so comfy in it!

MoreGinPlease2020 · 27/06/2020 16:19

@Pinktruffle It might be worth checking local independent shops. We went to one this morning (without our cars as we didn't think they were doing fittings), but they are so now we have to go back.

Pinktruffle · 27/06/2020 16:33

@MoreGinPlease2020 thanks, I'll take a look and see what local shops are doing

Fouryearslater · 27/06/2020 17:05

Halfords are giving you 30 days to try it in your own car and returning if it’s not right.

Jaffas22 · 27/06/2020 17:22

@MillieFTM we have gone for the cybex cloud Z isize .. similar to the Joie 360 as it has the spin function but has a recline option too (for if you put it on pram) .. it got delivered last week and we have tried practicing getting it in/out the car and I think the spin option will be so useful .. I’m also a FTM so don’t have much else to go on. We managed to find out online that it was compatible with our car

Sweetpea1985 · 27/06/2020 18:18

Bit torn not sure what to do,
So, I bought a second hand silver cross a few weeks ago and was pleased with it. Although now looking closer at it there are quite a few scratches on the frame, which is bugging me a bit.
But I've seen a brand new panorama babylo travel system for less than I could re sell the silver cross for. But it doesn't have an isofix car seat.
But like I say the scratches are starting to bug me a bit, and I didn't realise but it's missing the pushchair seat liner as well but I was adamant that I wanted the silver cross. 🙄 dh wont be impressed lol
What would you do?

LozEliza · 27/06/2020 18:32

@ju1ceb0x don't worry about your bump I'm 21 weeks tomorrow and still barely have one. It definitely wouldn't be noticeable to the public who didn't know me and even people who do know me can only notice when I'm wearing v tight clothing. I didn't feel any movement until 17+6 and then it wasn't until a few days after that I started feeling it again.

Oops we've ordered our car seat with the pushchair bundle I thought that isofix fittings were standard in all cars? We don't have sporty bucket seats or anything like that which I know can factor in. I did think the joie 360 looked super comfy but It made sense to get the one included with the bundle when I factored everything in. My mums looking at getting the maxi Cosi mica which is similar to the joie but we thought looked easier to manoeuvre as the spin button it at the front and she has a 3 door car.

@Sweetpea1985 my DH was the same with the kicks. We've found a way around it by him putting his ear to my stomach and then he can physically hear the thud of her kicking which seems to have cheered him up no end because he still can't feel it with his hand.
