@Sweetpea1985 if you can sell it on at the same price you bought it then hopefully dh won't be annoyed? If not could you try filing out the scratches like you can do on cars? The silver cross will be better quality so may last longer if you're wanting more than 1?

Sweetpea1985 · 27/06/2020 18:40

See yeah I think the silver cross would last longer especially seeing as the weight goes up to 25kg as most only go to 15kg
I think we will probably be having 1 more after this one as well but that would be quite soon after because I'm not getting younger lol so would end up getting a double pram maybe?
Hadnt even thought of it like that, that's made it worse somehow 🙄😂

eleanorsos · 27/06/2020 18:40

Does anyone else here not drive? We're in London and don't even have driving licences (shocking I know!!) but will still need a carseat for getting baby home and for any taxi rides etc. Any ideas on car seats that fit in anywhere for very occasional use? 😬

Sweetpea1985 · 27/06/2020 18:45

Oh dear, dh has just asked me what I'm thinking so I told him the scratches are bugging me, his answer..... "tough" 🥺
I think this would suggest issue solved 🤷‍♀️

MillieFTM · 27/06/2020 21:14

Hmm still thinking about the Joie ispin 360, as the isofix base is attached, if baby falls asleep in the car seat would be pretty heavy to carry out the car/can't attach it to a pram 🤔 wanted the ispin from birth as it lasts to 4 years so thought it was a good investment, not sure how much of an issue that will be now.

Pinktruffle · 27/06/2020 21:19

I wanted the Joie Ispin for the same reason - the fact it can be used for up to 4 years.
I have thought about the issue with the baby falling asleep as a friend mentioned it but I wouldn't let the baby stay asleep in the car seat so I dont see the difference between picking the baby up to take it in the house and taking the car seat in the house and then picking the baby up to lie it down.... same thing really?

LozEliza · 27/06/2020 22:03

That's one of the things which put me off the joie 360 regarding not having a carry handle to take the baby into the house if needed etc. Also I wanted the flexibility to put the car seat on to the pushchair if I need to nip into somewhere quickly as I do often pop in and out of places (although this might be different now with the constant queuing everywhere 😡)

Sweetpea1985 · 27/06/2020 22:27

@LozEliza glad I'm not the only one getting miffed at the queues!
I understand the need for them but people should try being pregnant in constant queues

FudgeFlies · 27/06/2020 22:56

Just marking my place Smile starting to feel stronger “popping” feelings now which I’m assuming are kicks, which is nice as i wasn’t feeling much before (anterior placenta).

We also fancied a car seat that spins but wanted one that we could use on the pram/buggy.

Fouryearslater · 27/06/2020 23:00

Yep, the joie 360 doesn’t come out/off its base. But then babies shouldn’t be left to sleep in car seats so not a major issue other than being less quick in the rain 😁

wannabebump · 28/06/2020 09:02

I started looking at car seats this past week - such a minefield isn't it! So I decided to leave it on the to do list and look at other things, like things for DS's bedroom! 😅

Anyone else struggling with sleep? My "exhausted" stage of 8pm and needing to sleep is gone, which is great but I've definitely not got the surge of energy anyone speaks about! I'm sleeping during the night, up 2/3 times for the toilet, paranoid about sleeping on my back and my legs/hips are so sore, even with a pregnancy pillow. I feel the best way to describe it is sleeping but not feeling rested. 9am, my eyes are watering with tiredness but I can't sleep. 😢

Morning all!

Is anyone planning a maternity and/or newborn photoshoot? x

BumpityBumpo · 28/06/2020 09:40

I'm so glad its not just me being dramatic about the queueing, every time I have to queue outside a shop (a couple of minutes is fine) it aggravates my hips! I'm then in pain for a few days after and it goes away until the next queue! Any other time they're fine, its just the standing in one place too long that seems to be the issue! I just want to shop for baby but I can not stand in flipping queues for ages!!! Angry

Rant over Grin

LozEliza · 28/06/2020 10:36

Yes the queue thing is stressing me no end. I always forget and 'pop out' for something or a browse then realise you can't just browse and enjoy anymore - you have to queue outside for at least 20 mins then feel rushed and on edge around the shop then when you come away with nothing feel like it's a totally wasted experience 😬 never mind. I've resigned myself to getting everything online now - I'm happy I've at least seen the pushchairs and car seats in person. I've actually also found that once I start looking at a product on my phone I'm then getting ads for it at better prices/deals than what I was looking at originally. I've barely paid full price for anything so far! I went with a mamas and papas pushchair but the bundle was far cheaper from baby planet plus an extra 5% off with a discount code (FB5 if anyone's interested) - I ended up saving over £250 than if I'd gone to mamas and papas direct.

@Clove20 I was going to have a newborn shoot as I found someone who I really loved but unfortunately she's now closed down since the pandemic :( so I'd only go for it if I could find someone similar.

NatalieH2220 · 28/06/2020 14:35

We had the Cosatto travel system last time with isofix for the car which made it so handy but I found the straps so thick it was really fiddly. I remember seeing a few people with Maxi Cosi seats and the straps seem much thinner so made an appointment at Mamas and Papas to go and browse in person as that's one thing we didn't do first time around.

FireflyGirl · 28/06/2020 17:21

Missed the last thread Blush but back now.

@NatalieH2220 do the maxi Cosi seats fit onto the Cosatto? I loved my Cosatto, and will definitely be using it again this time, but we need a new car seat this time round, so am exploring options.

It's kind of sinking in now that in about 4 months we'll have a baby Shock We've made a list of what we need to pull out of the shed/loft (and clean!!) and what we need to buy (pretty much just car seat and new mattresses, and seasonal clothes as DS was a spring baby).

I've also started sorting out the bags of clothes from DS. DH's friend is expecting a boy next month so I'm putting aside all of the clothes I won't want to put on a girl for them.

I've done a lot of sorting today - I'm shattered! But feel like I've accomplished something!

NatalieH2220 · 28/06/2020 17:56

@FireflyGirl Oh I'm not sure if they are compatible, I just like the look of them before. We got rid of our cosatto travel system so looking at the ickle bubba this time as it's really cheap and that's supposed to be compatible. Maybe worth dropping cosatto an email as they can probably advise.

I started sorting my sons clothes once we found out we're having a boy. Can't wait to use some of them again but still can't quite believe he was ever that tiny.

Pink15 · 28/06/2020 18:34

Does anyone have any experience or stories about the oyster 3 good or bad?

Sweetpea1985 · 28/06/2020 20:04

Ladies, how many pee's is too many??? I'm literally going every 15 mins (no exaggeration) I'm thinking this is waaaayyy too often?

Wigglebum87 · 28/06/2020 20:17

Can someone please tell me the best thing for constipation? I feel broken today

Sweetpea1985 · 28/06/2020 20:22

@Wigglebum87 prune juice is a really good natural solution

BabyKnighty1 · 28/06/2020 20:39

Try some kiwi fruit

BuffaloCauliflower · 28/06/2020 21:02

@Sweetpea1985 I pee waaay more than average when not pregnant (due to some bladder issues that cause sensitivity, I luckily have no incontinence - yet) now I’m going probably about 20-25 times a day. It’s a lot but considering how I usually am it’s not an excessive increase for me. If yours feels like an excessive increase then worth mentioning to the midwife in case it’s a sign of gestational diabetes. Are you just weeing a lot or are you very thirsty too?

Sweetpea1985 · 28/06/2020 21:12

I am thirsty but not excessively I dont think so mostly just weeing alot, even its it's only a dribble literally I can go then need to go 30 seconds later sometimes its silly

Pink15 · 28/06/2020 21:14

@Sweetpea1985 you should probably get tested for a uti maybe if you ring your GP in the morning? It's important to get them treated in pregnancy xx
