@Zaalfruit I had a 22 week appointment and booked in for a 28 week both with my midwife. Hope you're okay, definitely entitled to be worried as many women right now have been left to get on with it, which shouldnt be the case - esp when you have a condition.

@BntTowers Second the tea tree, it's wonderful

I had a total meltdown over work yesterday. In a nutshell my big client wants something impossible and I'm not sure how I'm going to do it. So, I spent yesterday crying and stressing. DH has told me to chuck it as we're 'okay' but I really want the money between now and end of August. As it's my wage that gets the nice extras for us and helps take pressure off us both if something goes wrong - i.e. like when the cats broke our hob and insurance didnt cover or when the fence/roofs gets damaged in winter. So, already starting today exhausted and stressed 11.5 weeks to go...

Treaclepie19 · 17/06/2020 09:57

Ladies! My exhaustion is explained! My iron is low.
Sort of glad that I wasn't going crazy thinking something might be off. Surely a good excuse for more mcdonalds?? 😂

Hi ladies

@treaclepie19 o good news you have an answer! Are they giving you tablets?

@quiffy work is so up and down at the minute

My anxiety is on sky high today

Work have said they are doing a phased return, I work in an office and so social distancing etc I'm just not comfortable with it yet

Then I heard dp on the phone to a work colleague (female) who I have a particular issue with I know her from the past shes the exact opposite to me, slim, young, big boobs one of these girl next door types, flirting, and it's just sent me over the edge, had a cry, 2 biscuits and a coffee but it's still not shaking. I cant speak to dp about it as he always thinks I overreact especially with this woman then says I dont trust him and I'm not in a position for an argument at the minute 😭 I just feel so down

Added to that had little movement for around 12 hours now, hoping baby girl will wake up this afternoon

BntTowers · 17/06/2020 10:34

@Quiffy I have a tea tree spot wand thing which I've used. Think I'm going to have to go to the chemist at lunch to see if they suggest anything because they've gone awful and splotchy since I woke up.
I had a nightmare work day yesterday too, which resulted in a full on meltdown. I hope you can figure out a solution. I've still not heard about my holiday days yet but I am tempted to put in for a day off next week.

BntTowers · 17/06/2020 10:36

@Indigogirl88 that's a rubbish situation, I hope you manage to clear your head soon. Maybe head out for a little walk? I've not had much movement since last night, normally baby is kicking away when I'm in bed and there's not been too much.

bluemoon2468 · 17/06/2020 11:58

@FourPlasticRings that's crazy! Lucky you! I'm a first time mum and I dont even have a 25 week telephone appt, just nothing at all 🤷🏼‍♀️ I've only had one face to face appt at 8 weeks (booking in) and my next is at 28 weeks. Havent had my urine or blood pressure checked at all inbetween 🙁 Oh well, I feel fine and healthy, just have to assume everything's going well.

otterbaby · 17/06/2020 12:00

@bluemoon2468 they didn't even take your urine and blood pressure at your 12 and 20 week scans? That's shocking that they've let you go that long!

Zaalfruit · 17/06/2020 12:05

@Indigogirl88 deffo go for a walk - to clear your head - treat yourself to something nice .

@BntTowers movements sometimes are strong and sometimes they arent makes me get all worried ! It’s like baby get into a pattern please .

Make sure you go chemists and show them!

Treacle81 · 17/06/2020 12:15

Hi girls! I’m the same as @bluemoon2468, I have had many dizzy spells but I do have low blood pressure so not been overly concerned. Thankfully I have one on Friday tho and I’ll be 25 weeks (on the Mon after). Just hope it doesn’t get cancelled xx

bluemoon2468 · 17/06/2020 12:18

@otterbaby no at my scans I had no checks at all other than the scans! Didn't even realise that I should have 😕 It's all been a bit of a shambles with COVID tbh. I'm just thankful I'm young, healthy and low risk.

Treacle81 · 17/06/2020 12:18

@Indigogirl88 sorry to hear you are feeling that way,I seemed to get myself in a state yesterday as thought my family were all meeting up and leaving me out. Was v paranoid, just put on my mindfulness music and got out for some air. Helped. @BntTowers sounds like you might need an antihistamine, hopefully chemist will sort it for you xx

Quiffy · 17/06/2020 12:34

@Treaclepie19 defo get some McDonald's down you! Hopefully the tablets help a bit.

@Indigogirl88 Hope you're okay, my DH gets that occasionally from women at his work but thankfully he's oblivious. Once one of them joked about giving DH a lapdance at a work event when I was standing there wtf. It can be really distressing though - especially now you're pregnant. It's not a case of not trusting your DP, it's the fact that the colleague is flirting which is annoying. Not helped by your work either. Can you try to give yourself a little 'me' time this afternoon with a rest to try and ease anxiety?

@BntTowers I can't believe they've still not approved those holidays yet - you're only talking about working 4 days a week, it's not exactly a massive hardship for them. Thankfully not long now for any of us - I'm looking forward to no sleep and being peed on if it means not dealing with tosspots.

@Treacle81 hope you're feeling better today and family aren't leaving you out

Indigogirl88 · 17/06/2020 13:22

Hi all just had my 24w midwife appointment (via phone) she was lovely but I don't have much confidence, she tried to reassure me any problems to call but didnt explain exactly what movement I should be feeling, she said it's still too early and to not worry unless I feel nothing. I'm just going to use my own judgement. Being measured from 28w appointment which has to be face to face as it's also diabetes test so would be nice to finally see a midwife! Anyway I feel a lot better speaking to her. She also reassured me about my dead arms and confirmed it is carpal tunnel however nothing can be done just need to rest and elevate arms!

Thanks by the way for all the support, just feeling some movement has helped, I definately need some me time today

Zaalfruit · 17/06/2020 13:52

@BntTowers my work is pissing me off I asked for my birthday off and my husband bday off in July and it’s still not been approved . My work place is also shifting me to a new team under the new restructure .... I was like why me I’m off in 4 months and this manager doesn’t know me . So unfair :(

I have not felt any movement today - might go have something fizzy and see if that helps. I felt a lot of movements last night
They were painful and hard .

What’s a good kick counter - I also get so scared that I will get obsessive with a kick counter app.

MummyBearBoo · 17/06/2020 14:18

You don't really need to count kicks til 28 weeks it's normal not to feel much movement while you're moving around thru day as they say it lulls baby to sleep hence why they move more when you're laid down! Xxx

NWnature · 17/06/2020 14:21

My lower back right hand side is in agony today. Going to blow up the ball and see if sitting on that helps. So painful!
I bought a wedge and a lumber support for my dining room chair that I’m using as desk chair but it doesn’t seem to be helping.

otterbaby · 17/06/2020 14:37

@NWnature I just blew up my ball this afternoon! Sorted my back out just sitting on it for 15 mins!

NWnature · 17/06/2020 14:59

@otterbaby Ahh me too! I just did it!! Most exercise I've done in a while pumping it up haha!!

I'm bouncing away now at my desk. Does already feel a bit better. How crazy. I'm terrible, I love sitting with my legs folded up underneath me which I know is terrible so hopefully this will try and get me into better habits. I've never had backpain before its horrid.

BntTowers · 17/06/2020 15:05

@Quiffy@Zaalfruit I'm going to have to remind them about it I think. It's really rubbish that they can't be so crappy about approving holidays. The team move doesn't make sense really, a lot of things management decide never make any sense. I can't wait to not be working there any more, all that keeps going on just makes it easier for me to not go back.

The pharmacist couldn't give me anything I've had to call my go so just waiting for a call back now and I hope they can prescribe something.

I've had a few kicks this afternoon, fizzy drink seemed to help, but I've not had chance to lie down and really focus on the movements. I hadn't been out of the house since Saturday as my back was bad and it felt good to go out for a little walk. Might have to go again at this rate to pick up a prescription.

Indigogirl88 · 17/06/2020 18:29

I'm thinking of getting a ball literally looking at amazon today! I've not had much movement really, just had one small kick when I sat down quietly for a few mins that was all

LexiM · 17/06/2020 18:43

Sorry to hear a couple of you are having issues with your work. Slow approval on holiday must be so annoying. I feel so grateful I get to decide my holiday. How long are your partners/husbands having off when baby is here?

@Indigogirl88 I am feeling sorry for you about your DH work colleague, what is wrong with people. I don’t feel sorry for men who don’t want the attention, it’s so awkward and what can you say. Hope you are feeling happier soon.

I do wonder if I’m starting to get carpal tunnel, sometimes when Im using my phone my hand just goes completely numb and dead. Only had it since I’ve been pregnant although doesn’t seem to be getting any worse.

@BntTowers hope the GP can help you with something, it’s so difficult with how many products you can’t use/take when pregnant.

I mainly feel kicks when I’m still, if I’m busy I don’t really notice them. I certainly haven’t started to count mine yet. I didn’t have any blood pressure/urine tests at scans. Although I did at my 16 week appointment. Not sure what happens at my 24 week appointment, shall see next week!

I love the ball too - really notice a difference. I was a bit too enthusiastic with my bouncing when I first got it! 😂

@Treaclepie19 any excuse for a McDonald’s is valid while pregnant! Hope your iron levels improve soon.

LexiM · 17/06/2020 18:44

I meant I DO feel sorry for men who don’t want the attention! Doh!!

Indigogirl88 · 17/06/2020 19:59

Haha thanks @LexiM it's all so strange and I feel so hormonal I'm glad I didnt say anything to him though, I feel a lot better now Grin

Yeah my 24w was via phone so still not meeting her till 28w, feels like time is dragging a bit now
