@Zaalfruit noticed dry inside lips this morning too xx

Spark27 · 14/07/2020 12:10

I didnt get a health visitor visit or call before I had my DD. Not heard anything about one this time, and not expecting one. Maybe it depends on the process where you live? Obvs saw the midwife the day after we came home, then again around 5ish days (?) and then again to be signed off at 2 weeks (I think). I dont think I saw the health visitor until they did her 1 year checks. Then her 2.5yr checks were over the phone due to Covid.

MummyBearBoo · 14/07/2020 12:29

@Treacle81 -yes I put sudocrem every change to stop her getting nappy rash but Metanium is the best to clear up nappy rash if they get it -it's just you need to be careful coz it's yellow and it stains clothes but it is like a miracle cure!!

@BettyBotter1 -is your dress from H&M think i have the same one it's really comfy isn't it? (though the bump on this picture is smaller as it's from 5 weeks ago) xx

@Indigogirl88 how did the gtt go - I thought I said good luck . ( sorry )

Maybe the health visitor call is area specific I’m from London Essex boundaries .

4 more hours of work to go through really can’t be bothered . Just had Fanta twist to make the day feel a little better .

Treacle81 · 14/07/2020 13:46

Thanks @MummyBearBoo. I was the same with my son @Spark27 I'll double check with mw at appointment on Thursday xx

Indigogirl88 · 14/07/2020 15:02

Yeah all good, she couldn't find my veins properly for ages bless her so had to keep retrying. It wasnt my actual midwife (no idea who she even is yet) but got a load of questions out and measured fine bang in the middle so arent being referred to be scanned again. Not much else to report other than I tried on my wrap earlier just for fun 😀

Buzz22 · 14/07/2020 16:28

Wow everyone has such lovely bumps. Mine seems so tiny, I really hope shes ok in there!
I have so much movement now though, it feels like she will explode out of me!
I thought I had my 28 week midwife appointment this Friday but it seems its next Friday so I will be 29 weeks then. Would like to know my bump measurement now as it was small when they did it at the hospital a few weeks back.

@Zaalfruit I like Aria! If it's of any help Aria is something to do with music and singing I believe? The game of thrones character was spelt differently...Arya.
I think we are settled on a name now. Not telling people as it seems to be a bit marmite and I dont want to be put off!

BettyBotter1 · 14/07/2020 16:58

@MummyBearBoo, yes, snap, dress is from h&m. I find it very comfy but I don't wear it out cos it rides up so it's super mini length and I dont have the thighs for that!
@indigogirl88 glad the gtt test went fine, annoying about the veins tho, blood tests aren't fun even when they find them easily.

My midwife mentioned a health visitor home visit or maybe over phone now with covid, but I don't have a date yet.

App with anaethetist went fine, my hospital does the mobile kind so you can walk a bit and change positions. He said that also lowers the risk of needing instrument delivery. I'm leaning towards having one unless I get there and find I'm fine without. He told me it doesn't ever get too late to have one even at 10cm and to be vocal if i want one at that point as sometimes you can be told it's too late.

We think we know baby's name! We decided on the day of the 20 week scan and despite discussing lots of names since nothing else seems right. We're not telling anyone until she arrives though in case ppl don't like it. My parents seemed a bit put out I wouldn't tell them, but it's very normal not to tell anyone right?

bluemoon2468 · 14/07/2020 17:06

Here's my 28 week pic! Wow @Buzz22 you are tiny! Have you tried measuring your bump at home? I'm sure if baby is moving around a lot she's fine though 😊

MrsD1990 · 14/07/2020 17:14

Just came back from my 28 week appointment. Had the GCT to see if I need to do the GTT. All seemed fine with measurements etc and I finally got the whooping cough vaccine that everyone else seemed to get much earlier. Absolutely shattered now... Definitely got less energy than I did in the second trimester which is a shame! I feel asleep twice yesterday during the work day!!

Alana1984 · 14/07/2020 17:21

Hi,

I'm not sure if I'm doing this right but I'm Charlie, due 7th October - can I join your thread please?

Zaalfruit · 14/07/2020 18:08

@buzz22 your pregnancy body is so nice !! So cute , your bump. Don’t worry about bump size - if the midwifes think it’s fine then it’s fine .
@MrsD1990 I’m so tired and sleepy constantly I feel my eyes getting heavy at work.
@bluemoon2468 loving your bump picture - I been living in my jammies and maxi dresses .
@BettyBotter1 I am deffo not sharing any names with my family everyone is so opinionated and they will just make me upset if they don’t like it 🤣

@Indigogirl88 I hate when they can’t find a vein and they swap the arms and then you are in pain and bruised on both sides .

@Alana1984 welcome to the group :) we are a friendly bunch !

otterbaby · 14/07/2020 18:23

Ooh more bump pictures! 😍 @Buzz22 I had my 28 week appt today and I'm measuring a bit small too but she said that for me it's completely normal based on my growth chart. As long as I stay on that trajectory there's nothing to worry about, so I'm sure it's the same for you. I remember you saying you're tall, I'm 5'9" so it might just be spread out a bit more!

Good news from my appt today is that baby is head down! I was convinced she was transverse but her head is down and she is curled in a c-shape. Bouncing on that ball every night must be working as she was breech 2 weeks ago.

Welcome to the group @Alana1984!

Spark27 · 14/07/2020 18:34

Welcome to the group @Alana1984, and congratulations on your pregnancy.

Just seen a FB post by my hospital to say they are allowing partners in to antenatal scans now. Hopefully it shows that things are starting to be relaxed a bit. Fingers crossed it will mean that by the time I get to labour your can have birth partners the whole time, and maybe some visiting by them at least on the maternity wards?

Indigogirl88 · 14/07/2020 19:51

I forgot to ask whether baby was transverse or vertical?! I'm sure she would have said though as she had a good feel Grin

blankiesandunicorns · 14/07/2020 19:58

Great bump pics everyone!
Being in the third trimester feels like a massive relief although sleeping is getting more difficult...has anyone else been getting restless legs? I had it all night the other night it was awful.

Welcome @Alana1984!

Buzz22 · 14/07/2020 20:26

@bluemoon2468 you have a beautiful bump! I havent tried measuring at home. Only as I'm not entirely sure how high up to measure?

@Zaalfruit thank you. The midwife that saw me at the hospital a few weeks back didnt seem concerned. There are definitely plus points. I'm not in any way uncomfy and my clothes still fit for now. I feel like other than the relentless heartburn, which is being medicated by GP now, I cant complain about any pregnancy aches and pains others have been getting.

@otterbaby yes I'm also tall...5ft10. I guess maybe baby just some extra space! I also had a retroverted uterus and cervix which hadn't corrected itself to forward tilting at my last scan. So I think baby is probably sitting quite far back.
Will be interesting to see how I'm measuring next Friday at 29 weeks. I think you're right and they are more concerned if the growth stops and starts
If it's a continuous growth then they are less worried.

@Alana1984 Hello and welcome! Everyone is so friendly and helpful here. Do you know if you are expecting a boy or girl or are you team suprise yellow?!

@Spark27 my hospital says its reviewing its maternity visiting policy. It says its staying the same currently but they hope to announce some positive changes soon.

CharlieBalf · 14/07/2020 20:52

Hi all, had my 28 week app today and got diognosed with SPD which explains why it feels like my pelvis is tearing itself apart 😂
Baby doing brilliantly and had a little kick about while listening to the HB. Had my anti D injection... A little warning, it stings A Lot.
Hello @Alana1984! I'm due 5th October with a surprise 🙂

BntTowers · 14/07/2020 21:40

It's so good to hear everyone's 28 week appointments are going well! Mines not for about 2.5 weeks and I'll be 29 by then. It always feels way after everyone else's. There are so many good bump photos, everyone's body is so different it's wonderful to see.

My back has been acting up the past few days and I've been struggling.

@Spark27 my hospital hasn't announced anything about scans yet, but they have increased maternity ward visits from 1 hour to 2 hours, which I suppose is something.

@Indigogirl88 glad your gtt went well. I'm the same with my veins. I always say to try my right inside arm as that's the place they usually can and they always try the other arm first as the veins are more visible and they never get it from there. My veins are like rubber...

@BettyBotter1 congrats on deciding your name, we are still thinking...

@Alana1984 welcome to the group.

BettyBotter1 · 14/07/2020 21:57

@CharlieBalf I'm having the anti d injection tomorrow!
@bluemoon2468 beautiful bump 😊
@Alana1984 welcome!

MummyBearBoo · 14/07/2020 23:34

Welcome @Alana1984 and congrats!!

Lovely bump pics ladies!!

@BettyBotter1 -I usually wear my thin H&m leggings under that dress if it's not too hot as you said it rides up especially now my bump is much bigger than in the pic!!

If it's hot I tend to wear the A-line (fit & flare) dresses I bought when I was bigger (I was 2 stone heavier 18 m ago) as they flare out to accommodate my bump and my chest just fits into the top part as they are usually baggy since I lost weight! They're also size 12 and I'm usually an 8 (not with bump obvs)

@Buzz22 -I'm not 28w til Sunday which seems ages away but my 28w appt is also a week on Friday too so I should still just be 28w!

Has anyone's movements changed now babies are getting bigger -she still moves almost all day into early hours but doesn't kick as much just wriggles loads!! My tummy is constantly moving she dies still give me a really hard kick a few times and she also had hiccups this morning! Xx

Pineapplemummy2020 · 15/07/2020 03:13

Hi lovelt ladies
Is it ok if I join you? I'm 25 wks +2 days now (26 +2 days according to the latest scan) and team blue. So a few wks behind you.
Suffering with hurtbearn and reflux, hence I'm still awake at 3am Angry.

Browsing baby clothes to pass the time...and wondering.... do I need to buy separate newborn baby pyjamas, or just long sleeved bodysuits are ok? Or are these 2 the same thing, just used indoors and outdoors? So confused!

Spark27 · 15/07/2020 06:04

Hi @Pineapplemummy2020, congratulations on your pregnancy and welcome to the group. Hope you managed to get some sleep eventually. I've woken up with a really sore shoulder from sleeping on it. Urgh. You dont need to get pjs for the baby at the beginning. Most babies live in vests and Sleepsuits (onesies) for the first few months as 'outfits' can be a faff with so many nappy changes at the beginning. My recommendation is short sleeved vests under the long sleeved Sleepsuits or you end up with the pain of the long sleeves bunching up together.
I'm probably going to go for vests&sleepsuits and long sleeve vest/leggings for the first 6 months. Keeps them covered up while it's cold, but easy to access nappies quickly.

All personal choice though. If you want to go down the outfit route go for it xx

Indigogirl88 · 15/07/2020 07:20

@Pineapplemummy2020 hi and welcome! And @Alana1984 welcome!

I've got all sorts of pains this morning, my arms were dead again and my lungs tight (I suffer from asthma anyway) I tried sleeping upright which helped but wasn't as comfortable grrr

Dp was great yesterday and did diy and then I said ooooh I want to have a look at picking a going home outfit to which he thought was totally useless, made me feel crap and that my "jobs" arent as important as his so I spent the evening sulking on the sofa

Zaalfruit · 15/07/2020 07:53

@Indigogirl88 lol you dp sounds like mine - we got wardrobes and painting and shelves to put up but if I mentioned little things like packing maternity bags he is like your stuff have no physical labour and I’m just sweating in my jobs. So I tell him you grow a baby inside you and then we can swap roles yeah 😂😂 at least you still got abs I can’t see my feet anymore - my back pain is killing me. So shut up and do your stuff lol - indigo enjoy picking a coming home outfit and ignore the annoying dps sideman comments lol.

Also currently I sleep at a weird angle of 3 pillows under me as my back hurts so much .

@Pineapplemummy2020 - welcome to the group - I love outfits on babies I know it’s such a faff but I couldn’t help myself got a few as I thought there will be so many changes I might dress her in an outfit .

@CharlieBalf how do you get relief from the spd I have heard that it’s really painful - sending you lots of few good vibes. What’s an anti D injection?

@BntTowers my hospital is the opposite every appointment of mine seems to be done a week earlier my 28 weeks was done at 27 weeks 😂🤣 my next appointment is in the 9 of August I have no idea what it’s for and then a scan on 1st of September.

I really want to pull a sickie - just not feeling up to work . However it’s my birthday tomorrow and they will think I’m faking it . I didn’t take time off as we aren’t doing anything - has anyone ventured out and gone to a restaurant ? I just feel scared
