@Spark27 happy wedding anniversary 🍾🍾🍾 sounds like a great plan in these crazy times

Treacle81 · 11/07/2020 09:47

Morning girls! Had a great day yesterday and got to hug my three nephews who are under 12, which was the best feeling! Well I slept great last night, no restless legs or pain and might be due to having bed to myself... was magic! @Quiffy I cannot stop looking at his beautiful little face!!! Makes me want a scan now lol. Great to find out size too as clearly measurements won’t be as accurate! @Spark27 Happy 5 years!! 🍾🥂🥰 @Zaalfruit I don’t think that is too many clothes, can never be too sure. I’ve just kept some unopened for easy swap to bigger size. I’ve bought the Aldi Mamia premier size nappies. I’ve got 4 packs already (closest shop) I’ll get same in Tesco (second closest and compare). Just got Mamia sensitive wipes too (box of 6) so far. @CharlieBalf well done you, can’t even sew a button on 🙊xx

Zaalfruit · 11/07/2020 09:51

Happy anniversary @Spark27!!

I am so naive I thought 30 nappies per months will be enough 😂🤣 I think I might start with size 1 - not sure what brand yet and if we need size 0 will make dh go get it found a great price comparison website for nappies:

BecLJ · 11/07/2020 09:54

Good morning Smile

Happy anniversary @Spark27!

@Treacle81 I've also been suffering with restless legs while trying to sleep! I've found a good way to help ( for me) has been to get my husband to squeeze my feet as a try to go to sleep - good for me but must be annoying for him!!

@Quiffy what a gorgeous face! I went for a private scan earlier this week (on the day I turned 28 weeks) and got a glimpse of my baby girl's face in 4D too. Absolutely amazing to see. She was measuring 2lbs 9oz and firmly 46th percentile for measurements etc.

Happy third trimester (or nearly) to everyone!

@Zaalfruit I will keep an eye out for lemon babygrows, I'm sure I've seen one but it could have been next. We are looking for a cat themed babygrow, suitable for a boy. I've only seen girly ones and my husband is insistent that's what he wants to choose!! I said would a leopard or lion do!!

Nappies weve gone for mainly size 1 and one large pack of size 2. I'm glad they seem to fit quite a large size range! Weve just got x4 local supermarket brands to try, totally around 120.

@Spark27 happy wedding anniversary, I hope you both have a lovely time no matter what you're doing!

@Quiffy thrilled for you with the scan, its such an amazing experience to go together. Glad baby boy is big and healthy. Let's hope not too huge!!

@Treacle81 must be lovely to see your nephews. Family contact is what I've missed the most! Glad you slept better.

Is anyone finding their balance is going?! When I get up in the night to pee I find it hard to steady myself now, I walked into something in the night and scraped my leg all the way down. Also tmi but that's fine here(!!) my left boob has started leaking in the night, oh joy!

BntTowers · 11/07/2020 10:51

@Spark27 happy anniversary!

@Quiffy that's the best reaction. I'm hoping to get some blubbing out of DH when we go in a couple of weeks. Very cute photo as well.

I'm hoping to get to Primark today to pick up a few bits, DH is going to go food shopping whilst I go there. I feel like I've made a effort just to go to the shops, make up on and even some proper perfume, it feels like an occasion.

BntTowers · 11/07/2020 10:57

@Zaalfruit not exclusively lemons but I have got these and they are cute.
www.next.co.uk/style/st481376/430796#430796

@LexiM I've found quite a bit of lion/ leopard and tiger ones no cats as of yet. I'm also on the look out.

Indigogirl88 · 11/07/2020 11:06

Awwww all these scan photos are giving me all the emosh feels I love them. I'm going to ring our centre next week to see if dp can come and I think ill get one booked!

I'm proud of myself as I managed to do my hair and make up today so feeling tonnes more myself, just need something fun to do today

CharlieBalf · 11/07/2020 13:24

@Quiffy such an adorable little face!
@BecLJ so sweet, looks like shes having a little snooze 💕

Nappies wise: we're stocking up on a few disposables for the first month or so then getting reusable to use for the next two years or so. We fou d two eco friendly brands, wanted to try kith and kin but size 1 is out of stock everywhere!

BettyBotter1 · 11/07/2020 15:33

@Spark27 5 years! Happy anniversary 🎉🥂
@Quiffy and @BecLJ scan pictures are amazing, you can see their cute little faces so clearly! Lovely.
@Treacle81 that's great you got to hug nephews! Not seeing family so long is hard.
@Quiffy I've been a knitter for years but crochet is new to me. We found a pattern we loved on Etsy and it was crochet so I've been learning. It will be perfectly imperfect 😂
@LexiM ditto on the boobs leaking! Not loads but enough to make a wet patch 🙈

On the nappies front I'm signing up with a local cloth nappy lady to rent them for first three months then if I get on ok I'll buy my own ones. Planning to get some disposables from aldi too as the reviews I've read say they're really good and are good price too. Not sure if cloth is a stupid idea and reality will set me straight but I'm keen to try!

Zaalfruit · 11/07/2020 15:39

@Quiffy omg the scan pic is so cute . Makes it feel so real.
Makes me want to get a 4d scan just feel like knowing my luck the scan will be the scary pics .

Thanks everyone with the help with nappies - feel a bit under prepared and over whelmed about nappies .

Why are the boobs leaking . I didn’t know that could happen. All I know is I’m sweating way more now Since getting pregnant .

Buzz22 · 11/07/2020 15:45

Hi ladies I havent been on here in a while. Lots of catching up to do! Was feeling a bit down due to several hospital visits for reduced movements. All is fine though. Still feel like I'm tempting fate by doing anything baby/shopping related after last time.
I'm now over 27 weeks. I see the midwife next Friday. My bump was measured a few weeks back at hospital. 23 weeks instead of 25. They didn't seem too concerned so will be interesting to see what the measurement is next week.
I'm still in my non- maternity size 8 leggings which is madness! I think the small bump has been adding to the worry, but at my last scan baby was above-average.
Today I finally braved visiting the pram shop with DP. Thought we need to start getting something organised. Think we have settled on the icandy peach. Was very overwhelmed by choice but they were really helpful in the shop thank goodness as DP and I were clueless!

Quiffy · 11/07/2020 16:01

Thanks everyone on scan, we're still on a high today. Although baby hormones are furious that's it raining and I can't get my front door painted or garden done boo.

@Treacle81 that's so nice to be able to hug your nephews 😻 these little things mean so much now.

@BecLJ what a gorgeous little face ❤️❤️

@BntTowers I think they really should cry. I think if have slapped him if he didn't, esp when he cries at video game endings and cat videos 😹

@BettyBotter1 I love the imperfectly perfect, that's exactly what I aim for 😹

@Zaalfruit I'm with you on the sweating. I swear I'm getting sweating stains under my boobs. Pregnancy is so glamorous

@Buzz22 think I'd be totally overwhelmed by a pram shop! I was secretly glad to just pick one online and go for it 😅

LexiM · 11/07/2020 16:02

@Buzz22 lovely to hear from you. Sorry it's been an anxious time but glad baby is doing well. Everyone is so different with bump sizes and where baby is hiding in there! Glad your pram visit was worthwhile, I agree theres so many choices out there and it's so expensive you want to get it right.

@Zaalfruit I had read some people leak before baby is born, I dont think it's much though. I really need to get some breast pads soon as I dont want it to happen during the day and have wet patches! Theres just so many types to choose from and I have no idea.

@BettyBotter1 I am keen to try reusable nappies too but I've decided I probably wont straight from the start hence getting the disposals. Once again too many choices on which to go for so trying them out sounds great.

@indigogirl88 hair and make up sounds fab. I think lockdown has made me give up earlier than I thought I would have in terms of making an effort, such a shame really!

@bnttowers I need to attempt a Primark trip too for post-baby pjs mainly. Hope its not too busy. Do let me know if you find any cat prints, I agree jungle/safari theme seems to be everywhere right now.

Just been to Dunelm and managed to get some baby hangers 10 for £1 which I'm pleased with. I needed to get some but didn't want to spend a fortune when I know they wont be used for very long.

bluemoon2468 · 11/07/2020 16:14

Hi ladies 😊 had my 28 week appt today. All looked good but I have to go back for my GD screen on Tuesday because they forgot to send me the details in the post so I didn't know about the prep for it. Only slight negative was that baby hasn't turned to a vertical lie yet and is currently transverse (head higher than bum) and back to back. She said there's still plenty of time for him to turn but she would like to see him either head down or breech by 32 weeks. My husband was born via emergency c-section at 36 weeks due to being transverse so 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 this little one gets his head into gear and turns naturally!

4D scan pics look lovely! Ours is tomorrow!

Quiffy · 11/07/2020 16:23

@LexiM on cat themes, I got this one in TK maxx it's a French cat with balloons outfit and it has a vest with cats in black, pink and blue which I got for our boy. Also got a zara French cat t-shirt and some Tom and Jerry bits from ebay. Next are really good for lions, cheetahs etc. Tom Baker also have some lovely jaguar bits that I've bought (mad cat house clearly). It's hard as cats seem to be all pink but it is possible to find more neutral ones. That's an amazing deal on hangers!

@bluemoon2468 fingers crossed on baby moving 🤞🤞 exciting for your scan 😻😻

LostinAusten2 · 11/07/2020 19:17

Oh just wanted to say congrats on the scans @Quiffy and @BecLJ - they’re beauuutiful 🥰 We’ve a growth scan at 30 weeks and really really hoping the DH is able to join!

NWnature · 11/07/2020 20:25

The scans look so great! Has pushed me to book one next weekend. I’ll be 28 weeks . Will be so nice for us both to be there.

@bluemoon2468 fingers crossed they move! I have no idea how our little one is positioned at the mo

MummyBearBoo · 11/07/2020 22:58

@Zaalfruit -from past experience using isomers premium protection I tried loads of others but they all leaked!! My DD was size 0 but I'm gonna see nearer the time how big baby is I know at mo she's 45th percentile! Bigger than DD!
@Spark27 -happy Anniversary
@Quiffy -lovely pic and @BecLJ -so clear looks so cute!

I have to wait til my next NHS scan on 11/08 to see if I can get a 3D pic coz they tried at my scan on Tuesday but as she was sucking one hand and had the other hand in front of her face they couldn't get a decent picture!

A lady on one of the other threads had said her partner was allowed in for her scan so hopefully on 11th DH can see baby too!

I fell asleep at 8pm tonight baby woke me up kicking my heft side again 10mins ago she makes me jump coz she kicks really hard and I'll prob be up til 2am which is when she settles down!! Xx

Spark27 · 12/07/2020 04:50

Thanks for the lovely messages ladies. We had a nice day, even if it wasn't what we'd normally do. The tiny glass of white wine to celebrate was not worth it though. Really enjoyed it at the time, but now got the most terrible heartburn/acid reflux and guessing it's from that.

Very excited to be going to the hairdressers this morning. I was due to go in Feb but cancelled it as was under 12w and usually get my hair dyed. Then it shut. Its now huge. Needs about 3 inches off and thinning out dramatically. Managed to get a sunday am appt for 'vulnerable' people, so only me and hairdresser in. Only going for a cut as cant stand the 3hrs to dye with a mask on, blurgh.

Indigogirl88 · 12/07/2020 07:23

@bluemoon2468 I have a feeling we are transverse as I can feel kicks sideways and nothing high or low 🤞 though!

28 week app and gtt test on Tuesday

@Spark27 oh that sounds lovely ! I need a haircut badly but ill probably do it myself as I'm nervous about hairdressers cutting my hair not due to covid but due to bad experiences!

In the nappy front we've gone for disposals for the first few weeks and then I hope to switch to cloth, I didn't realise you could hire them though so I'm going to look into this

I woke up in the night on my back and I think I had been on my back all night, now I'm worried. So having a caffeine tea to see if I can feel movement

The worrying never ends does it

I watched a YouTube video last night of a girl who went in for the 32 week appointment only to be induced that day due to having pre eclampsia! Got me all worried literally baby could technically come anytime eeeek

Indigogirl88 · 12/07/2020 07:29

@lexim @BntTowers apparently primark baby clothes wash up terrible according to my sil so badly so she basically threw them after one wear so just a word of warning. I need to brave it though as I want some post maternity bits

Forgot to mention I was getting cramps last night, like light periods cramps so I'm thinking these are braxton hicks kicking in

BntTowers · 12/07/2020 07:47

@lexiM @Indigogirl88 I didn't find anything I wanted. The clothes looked cute but there weren't many size options and it was mostly Disney stuff which I'm not too fussed over. I didn't find anything for me either so was a bit disappointed.
I did go to Boots again didn't find much but they did have some left over baby event stuff in store (hasn't realised they had one) and I got a newborn size sleepsuit for £2.97 which is really cute and cotton balls and that's it..they didn't have much in stock throughout the store.

We had a bit of a date night last night which was lovely, pizza in front of the TV with a film on and lots of cuddles. I think putting make up on yesterday definitely helped boost my confidence a bit. If anyone wants a decent film recommended The old guard on Netflix was good. 4 guns for hire that can't die, I think originally it's a comic book but not like a superhero comic at all.

Quiffy · 12/07/2020 08:03

@LostinAusten2 @MummyBearBoo really hope they let partners in for you both. My trust has just changed the rules so 🤞🤞🤞 for others.

@NWnature ahh that's so exciting! They're worth every penny 😻 countdown on until next weekend

@Spark27 enjoy your hair cut, I agree waiting that long with mask for dye wouldn't be fun at all.

@indigogirl88 yikes that's so scary, makes me want to get that hospital bag done.

@BntTowers that sounds like a lovely night! Film sounds good too, always need something to watch while dh is pew pew pewing on his PlayStation

Last day of the second trimester for me today! It honestly still feels like my 12 week scan was yesterday 🙈

bluemoon2468 · 12/07/2020 08:04

@Indigogirl88 aaah 🤞🏻 for you! I'm also getting all of my kicks in my sides. They're only expected to be vertical from 26 weeks so only a bit of a delay atm, but the midwife did say that it's probably why I'm getting, so uncomfortable because baby is a bit too big to be that way round now!
