My hospital is really good for waster births they have quite a lot of room with pools and mood lighting some were paid for by OBEM coz they used my hospital for a series but I think my anaesthetic plan will involve me having to have a lose dose epidural again in case I need to go to theatre

As can't have GA's they need to epidural in effect in case they need to get baby out quickly! Might try the bath thing before I have the epidural tho if I have time!

First time I had active labour for 8 hours before epidural but it worked well coz it had worn off by time to push so when they saw everything was ok I could feel when to push (could feel the most painful bit)!xx

Baby gave me a heart attack this morning 🙄 Didn't move at all for over an hour after I woke up which is really unusual, as usually that's his most active time. I tried everything to get him to move and nothing. Was on the verge of heading straight into the hospital and then all of a sudden he wakes up and now he's having a party in there 🙈 Anyone else finding this monitoring movements thing really stressful?

BntTowers · 06/07/2020 09:55

@bluemoon2468 I hate monitoring it, I'm sure it prompted my nightmare last night because I had low movements all evening. Was only getting the occasional kick, seems to have woken up a bit this morning with wiggly around though so I think everything is ok.

I think I am definitely going to enquire about it at my next appointment, I'm not sure how many rooms have the water birth but I know there's at least two. Thanks to those who have responded already.

I'm so tired today, don't mind the vivid dreams so much, but the nightmares are awful and so intense.

MrsD1990 · 06/07/2020 11:15

I hadn't started monitoring movements properly yet (beyond just sort of noticing he kicks me a lot when I watch TV in the evening and when I'm in bed!) but turn 28 weeks this Saturday so want to start... Anyone got any good app recommendations?

Considering I asked everyone about keeping in touch while on maternity leave a few weeks ago I've done a complete 180 - SO sick of work. Am considering taking more holiday so I can leave for mat leave early. This might just be a blip because of my colleagues (who is senior to me) sent me a really shitty email over the weekend and just really ruined my weekend for me. It was so horrible I started questioning my ability/career choice etc - husband had to calm me down and point out that is a complete one off and the guy who sent the email will be really stressed because the people at the top of our company have been told they're most at risk of being sacked because of our revenue loss due to lockdown and Covid. Anyway that's where I am right now, sorry to not be more positive!!

Spark27 · 06/07/2020 11:31

Oh no @Mrsd1990, that sounds horrid. Hopefully it was just someone in a bad/stressed mood sending an email at the wrong time. Not that that's acceptable at any time. Fingers crossed they're grown up enough to realise and send an apology. Try not to let their bad mood affect your maternity plans though xx

I used the Kicks Counts app as it monitors periods of movements other than individual kicks. I feel I could get a bit addicted/stressed out by the individual kicks thing. I was a bit worried yesterday afternoon as she seemed quiet, but then by late evening she was kicking off again, it was quite painful and I was wanting her to stop. Damn babies

MummyBearBoo · 06/07/2020 12:53

I don't t find the kicks painful just sometime uncomfortable when I'm just about to eat or sleep!! Coz she's bigger now it feels really strange when she moves!! I think she might have finally gone to sleep been kicking since 6am even tho I've been moving around!! Xxx

Treacle81 · 06/07/2020 13:00

Hi girls. Welcome @Mightnightdream I am also due 2nd son on 5th Oct! 27 wks today and boy was last night the worst sleep ever! Heartburn and what must have been RL pain which was sore enough to make me wake partner and felt that I was going to throw up!!! Thankfully only lasted a few mins but actually had to hold onto bump and partner too whilst I turned from left side to right. Can’t seem to sleep all night on left due to hip pains. God it’s really getting tough at night now 😔 @Spark27 I’m opposite - do t want an epidural this time as blame the lack of feeling reason I had to end up with episiotomy and forceps last labour so hoping for water birth @MrsD1990 I’m the same- just got trained on a new programme and before I became confident in it just get told I’ll be back training for something else tomorrow! Roll on 18th Sept! Also just cut down to 4 day week- fed the f up with the way things are dealt with! I purchased scales so I’ll keep track of my weight, so far put on a stone which I think considering everything, seems average xx

Treacle81 · 06/07/2020 13:00

@babymama09 brilliant news 🥰xx

babymama09 · 06/07/2020 13:46

Thankyou to those who responded to me. I forgot to mention baby is approx 1ib 14oz according to Liverpool women's I am peesuming that is without fluid intake around her but not sure.
Hope ur all OK

Mightnightdream · 06/07/2020 13:46

@Treaclepie19 could be birthday twins! Im hoping for a section date at 32 weeks. I feel super nervous. I also get heartburn, hopefully a lot of hair on the boys for us! Grin. I dont remember my first pregnancy like this, it was very plain sailing, no sickness and heartburn. Now I'm thinking if only lol

Indigogirl88 · 06/07/2020 14:24

Sounds like a few of us are suffering. I'm struggling with full time work now, and dreading two full months of full time work then going to take 2 weeks off omg!

I'm using the kicks count app, seeing a pattern ish getting kicks around 10am then again at evenings till around 1 or 2am then nothing again till 10am.

Struggling with sleep, aching arms (again!) And motivation. We did however order our next to me crib! Dp didn't realise we would need sheets as well which is my next thing to look for Grin

Treacle81 · 06/07/2020 14:37

It’s quite confusing as our ‘names’ are v similar lol. It’s been that long though it’ll just confuse matters if either @Treaclepie19 or I change name I feel. I was the exact same with first son, pregnancy was a breeze, this one is very different! If you don’t mind me asking why would you have him that early? xx

Treacle81 · 06/07/2020 14:38

Above is meant for @Mightnightdream, pressed under reply but didn’t seem to work xx

Treaclepie19 · 06/07/2020 14:59

Haha yeah we do have very similar names 🙈 I don't really name change but it would have made things easier wouldn't it 😂

Anyone else getting impatient now? I need to chill out because nothing is ready yet but I'm excited to meet her 😂

Indigogirl88 · 06/07/2020 15:46

@Treaclepie19 yeah getting so impatient now, nearly nearly done everything

Got the crib ordered today so another thing ticked off

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 06/07/2020 15:57

@MrsD1990 sorry to hear work is getting you down. Before becoming a nanny I used to be in finance and found it always very stressful and hated those sorts of things (the crappy emails.) you'll be off before you know it but don't let it get you down.

@babymama09 really good to hear the positive update, I'm so happy they're taking good care of you and baby.

I've been furloughed again as of today, I found some clear as day guidance that sent to employers at the weekend saying I can't distance as a nanny so need to be furloughed.

I need some advice, my brother is getting married about a 5 hour drive away from where I live. I'll be 33 weeks, do you think this is a bad idea me travelling that far from my hospital incase I go into early labour? And if I was to go into labour do you think a hospital would just take me in anyway like I have no idea how it works! I live in England the wedding in Scotland xx

MrsD1990 · 06/07/2020 16:07

@Spark27 @treacle81 @autumnbabywintermummy thank you for your kindness! One big problem with my company is that it's full of clever people but the senior people aren't trained at all as managers or even given any direction on how to be good managers, so situations like the one I was in this weekend happen! WFH had made things even worse. I'll try not to be too hasty changing my annual leave dates and see if I feel the same later on in the week... So fed up!!

@spark thanks for the app recommendation too, will give that one a go! Counting individual kicks would drive me mad too

MrsD1990 · 06/07/2020 16:12

@autumnbabywintermummy sorry just read the rest of your message - 5 hours is a really long drive, of you went into early labour I think the hospital would just take you even though you hadn't been there before. 33 weeks might be ok though and you'd just have to take it easy at the wedding - it's a very long time to be in the car though! Could you ask your midwife what she thinks too? I'm a FTM so I have no idea about mobility etc at 33 weeks so some of the others might be able to talk about that!

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 06/07/2020 16:24

@MrsD1990 I've just rang the midwife line actually just after I sent the message (sorry I was too hasty and wanted your opinions!) she said 5 hours is fine but just need frequent stops and stay hydrated and that if I did go into labour a Scottish hospital would def accept me!! X

Treacle81 · 06/07/2020 16:35

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy if you were 36 weeks I’d say best not but 33 you should be ok xx

Treacle81 · 06/07/2020 16:37

@Treaclepie19 yes I’m defo getting a little impatient now! 13 weeks is still a v long time for me 😞xx

LexiM · 06/07/2020 17:07

Hey everyone, just trying to catch up! Just woke up from a far too long nap!!

I would love a water birth, I'm trying not to get too invested as theres only two rooms with a pool at our hospital.

@bluemoon2468 yes I find patterns of movements very anxiety inducing! My baby tends to have a couple of days always more active than the rest and then following that I worry but usually have some movement. Ice usually helps!

@babymama09 glad things are better than expected and they are exploring things for you. Fingers crossed she stays put in there!

@MrsD1990 sorry you're having a bad week with work, some people are just so frustrating to deal with. I would definitely sit on it this week and see how you feel and emotions are heightened for lots at the moment and being pregnant definitely makes that worse.

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy I think for me at 33 weeks I would go providing i felt comfortable enough to sit in the car for the journey. You would get to a hospital if you needed plus statistically providing all is going well for you around that time the chance of having the baby then would be relatively low.

BettyBotter1 · 06/07/2020 22:19

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy I was supposed to be being a bridesmaid for my friend at 35 weeks and decided I would still do it when she was very understanding that I might not want to by that point. But I'm a FTM so dont know anything and that might have been a crazy idea 🤣

BntTowers · 06/07/2020 23:13

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy I think it's ok to wait and see of you are up to it. I'm sure with plenty of stops you will be ok though.

@MrsD1990 I'm sorry you are having a bad week at work. Its the same with my work at the moment, it's just too stressful at the moment.

I've been sat in triage tonight as I haven't felt baby love all day. They found a heartbeat and sent me back home. I think work stress isn't helping. I'm going to try and make sure I get out for a walk every lunch time and take 20 minutes during the afternoon to sit and try and feel baby move. That seemed to work a few weeks ago. Still not really had any movement, but hopefully the baby will be super active tomorrow, even if I am exhausted.

MummyBearBoo · 06/07/2020 23:44

26w Scan tomorrow it seems to have taken an age to cone around!! Xx
