Ah thanks guys very helpful! I’ll check out travertine tiles.

@Indigogirl88 my ball is taking up approx 1/3 of our entire flat floor space 😂 I need to start using it otherwise husband is threatening to chuck it off the balcony !

MummyBearBoo · 04/07/2020 23:05

Glad you Fadcis more xobditabke @LexiM

Don't forget re-child benefit it is dependent on how much your household earns my DH got a promotion at work and we had to cancel it to avoid having to pay it back as we were no longer entitled to it even tho I wasn't working any more and wasn't eligible for stat mat pay as I had a short fixed term contract after moving house again and going back to my old job at 29 weeks pregnant! !

26w tomorrow got my next NHS scan Tuesday excited and nervous!! Xx

MummyBearBoo · 04/07/2020 23:06

@NWnature we have engineered wood floors throughout our kitchen and dining room, we've only been in since October but loving them. Not too cold under foot and easy to keep clean. Growing up we had ceramic tiles in our kitchen the floor was always freezing and it did get chipped of something heavy was dropped and duct always got stuck in the grouting, so personally I wouldnt go for them.

Quiffy · 05/07/2020 09:26

@Treaclepie19 @Treacle81 there's a good few wool rainbow patterns going about that make really nice wall hangings too.

@BettyBotter1 that's so nice of your friend! Exciting on travel system ordering soon too 😻

@NWnature we have black gig gloss tiles (with sparkly bits) in the bathroom with no under heating. They aren't cold and not managed to crack them in 10ish years (despite being clumsy I think kitchen would be another matter) My mum chose them at the time and then we bought the house off her a few years later. They are AWFUL to clean though as you need to wash them then buff them so watch out for anything too glossy. Our kitchen is a kind of laminate style fake tile - I'd prefer wooden floors in there.

@MummyBearBoo you can still apply for child benefit and choose not to receive payment. It gives you national credits towards your pension but won't cost you anything. I was having a research yesterday.

Managed to get all our boxes stored in the nursery last night and it doesn't look bad at all. Got decorator booked for August too squee. Dh wanted to know if this "pleased the oh great nesting hormones" 😹

Hi girls,
How is everyone getting on?
Wriggles and I have made it to 24 weeks and 3 days 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 she is still very active and I was told at my Liverpool appointment she has mild bilateral pleural effusion which is fluid in her lungs, I got rather excited when they used the word Mild as my other two girls had it around all organs she has the fluid around the outside of her quite bad but nowhere else inside of her. I have another scan on Tuesday. They plan to get me past 28 weeks and hopefully to the 30+ week mark. Originally they wanted me to get to 37 weeks but I haven't ever gone past 28 so just making it past that for now would be awesome.
How is everyone?
I am feeling hopeful and trying to feel positive even though I still may lose her. I have spoken to neonatal team and they have explained their procedures this has NEVER been offered to me before. I have to go back to Liverpool in 6 weeks to check on how she's doing xx

otterbaby · 05/07/2020 15:16

@babymama09 that's great news! Glad to hear it's only mild this time, hopefully that's a good sign.

What are you ladies thinking regarding a babymoon? I'd pretty much written it off with Covid but I'm looking at booking just one night away in a little beach cottage when I'll be about 33 weeks...only an hour away so not too far from home either. Is that absolutely nuts considering the current climate?

Spark27 · 05/07/2020 15:20

That sounds so much more positive @babymama09. At least they are talking with you and sharing options and possibilities. Good to hear baby is still wiggly away in there. Sending lots of love and positive thoughts xx

I'm 28w today and officially in the 3rd tri. Seems crazy to think theres only 12ish weeks to go. When I think of it like that its flown by, but when I think that we've pretty much been stuck in the house since I went for my 12w scan its dragged. Really hoping we can start doing a few more things over the coming weeks.....if people are sensible

Spark27 · 05/07/2020 15:26

I'd definitely go for it @otterbaby. We all deserve to treat ourselves a bit. If we reach a point where we can leave DD with family for a night I am definitely having a night away. Even if it's only 30mins down the road. The luxury of not doing housework, ordering room service, etc needs to be done xx

babymama09 · 05/07/2020 15:27

@Spark27 thankyou, I can't believe your 28 weeks already, it's mad because we all started to talk in this group from early first trimester. To think that most are towards the ending point now is crazy.
I have just said to my dh when I get a c sec date as this is how I am having her i want to buy her a blanket and things. Not buying anything else like bottles or pram until we know she is safely out so it will be a rush round if she makes it and survives the birth. I feel so much more positive, we will see what the scan on Tuesday brings hopefully good news. I feel my hospital which is local haven't explained the condition to me properly as I was so shocked when they told me it was mild in her lungs I was under the impression that it was very bad, unless it has simply tried to resolve itself but the fact it hasn't gone to her heart etc to me is a good thing 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🤲🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞That it gets better not worse xzx

babymama09 · 05/07/2020 15:31

Sorry @otterbaby I didn't see your post, thank you. I have a scan again Tuesday so as 8 just said 🙏🙏🙏🤞🤞🤞 it has got better not worse. The skin edema is still quite bad but I believe this can be helped when she is out of me. They cannot put shunts in her yet, but aare going to rediscuss this with me in 6 weeks. Is everyone sorted with all their baby things?
I'd book the holiday @otterbaby, a break away sounds like a good thing and relaxing. Xx

Zaalfruit · 05/07/2020 17:51

@babymama09 just so happy for you - lots of love and well wishes being sent out.

Been not to happy - baby isn’t moving around a lot and I’m not sure why - it’s scaring me . I have a midwife appointment on Thursday along side my diabetes test. If I poke my belly sometimes she reacts. Just hoping she is alright I don’t want to work myself up .

babymama09 · 05/07/2020 17:58

If you are worried @Zaalfruit go down to your hospital and get her checked out. They would prefer you to be safe. Keep an eye on how much she is moving, but if you really feel its reduced please go get her checked to put your mind at rest. Xx

BntTowers · 05/07/2020 18:48

@babymama09 that's such good news, I'm glad you've managed to be better informed about it all too, that must help.

@Zaalfruit I've been in a terrible mood all afternoon. I cancelled mum coming round because it's horrendously windy and not nice to sit out in, which has just made me really fed up and restless.

Zaalfruit · 05/07/2020 19:54

@BntTowers you know what snap I have been in a really bad mood today.

My besties said it’s happens during third trimester and end of second you just feel annoyed . My mil annoyed me we invited my sil to come round and both sisters are arguing - but I said I’m not involved and they both knew each other are coming with the babies . She was like your stirring the pot - I was like to my dh I’m not involved didn’t even know they were fighting I just invited them in the group chat and they said yes.

MummyBearBoo · 05/07/2020 22:04

So pleased the news so far is more positive for you @babymama09 sending well wishes!!

I'm 26w today and got my next scan on Tuesday if this is all ok I want to start buying things!!

Had my in laws over for lunch today and they felt and saw baby kicking before lunch while i was sat on sofa so they're really excited!!

14 weeks to go tho probably less coz they planned an induction a week before my EDD last time (baby came on her own 3 days before) so they will prob do same this time xxx

Sorry keeps saying didn't post then posts twice!!

BntTowers · 05/07/2020 22:52

@Zaalfruit I just can't shake the bad mood today. Doesn't help that it's back to work tomorrow, although I am down to mostly 4 days a week from now on. Your in laws sound like a lot of work, just ignore the lot of them until they can behave properly instead of like children.

Is anyone considering a water birth? I've been looking into it and my hospital has two rooms, one with a pool and one with a big bath. Since starting the positive birth company course ice been thinking of them more and more.

Spark27 · 05/07/2020 22:59

@BntTowers I'm not going for a water birth as I definitely want an epidural again. But when I was induced last time and in very early labour I did take advantage of there being baths in the maternity ward and had about 3. It was more comfortable being in there. It was in the middle of the night and I was on my own as visiting hours had finished so DH had to go home, so the midwives had to keep knocking on the door to check I was ok Grin

Mightnightdream · 06/07/2020 00:10

Hello everyone! I'm late to the party! I am 27 weeks today due on the 5th October. Will be my second son. I hope I can join in with you all!

I am ready for him to come, I started packing my hospital bag today(I'm having another elective section) if hes anything like my DS1 he will be having other ideas and will come early Grin

Treaclepie19 · 06/07/2020 07:50

Planning a water birth here :) I tried one last time but it didn't happen. Was lovely being in the water though and I stayed there until fully dilated and needing forceps.

Welcome @Midnightdream Smile

@BntTowers I'm definitely hoping to have a waterbirth all going to plan🤞🏻It's top of my priority list! My mum had 2 and had no tears with either of us, and she's always put it down to the water!

Mightnightdream · 06/07/2020 09:15

@Treaclepie19 hello!

Little envious you are planning a water birth. Id love one. My friend had a water birth with her third she said it was the best thing ever.
