@Indigogirl88 hope you've had your pamper night. I'm the same now if I do too much of basic things I hurt. Did the weekly shop and was so tired and sore once I got home. Hope your back feels better by tomorrow.

@BntTowers love that babygrow! My husband vaguely shows interest but then when I say what do you want to choose he isn't as fussed.

Because I'm on furlough I have the luxury of time to get things done but I feel like a sense of no purpose right now at times. Although I'm relieved as usually I would be getting busy at work and very tired. I'm taking my maternity leave from my due date because of that.

Seeing my Dad today wasn't too bad thanks everyone. Obviously it's never going to be a fun trip now sadly but he was relatively with it and we had a nice chat. He did say when he wakes up hes confused where he is because hes in a different room now. I am sure he will get used to it, I'm just pleased he is feeling more comfortable and relaxed with the care now.

We went to KFC on the way home, I'm amazed I'm not the size of a house by now, feel like I am eating so much and need to stop! I spent this afternoon ironing and folding away the washed baby clothes, it makes me so happy. Nothing will be this neat ever again, I have no illusions that I will keep this up once baby is here!

bluemoon2468 · 04/07/2020 05:27

Arghhh the pregnancy insomnia is real this week! Between trips to the loo, baby having a uterus dance party all night and random bouts of hunger I've not slept properly in ages 😔 On the plus side, I'm 27 weeks today! 13 weeks to go 🎉

LexiM · 04/07/2020 06:02

Morning @bluemoon2468 sorry to hear you're sleeping so awfully xx
13 weeks really does sound so close now!

I am awake and pissed off. Whenever our neighbour comes in or out his house he repeatedly shakes the door back and forth. Sometimes he goes to drive off and stops and does it again. He also points his phone at the door, we think it has some kind of video security system. We have never said anything as the door was fine before he moved in and his behaviour is obsessive so wonder if he has OCD about checking its locked of something. Would you say something and what so you say especially if we think it's not just because hes being loud? Have we left it too late to say something?! I think he must know we find it annoying as we've watched from the window because it was so bizarre and maybe hoped he would realise! That being said maybe he thinks we are weird watching him! 😂 This morning he was doing it at 5.30am, hence why I'm awake and sometimes it's gone midnight and hes doing it.

Morning ladies. Just seen that someone in another group has posted this. Looks quite useful for working out maternity/SMP and all the other allowances we might get, to see what we can take home while off work. Hope it helps someone (and hopefully the link works!) maternity.money/maternity-pay-calculator

Zaalfruit · 04/07/2020 08:10

@LexiM such strange behaviour from your neighbour !!

@Spark27 thank you for the link - I don’t understand the way pay is working for me . The schedule did not make sense the one supplied to me . I asked to for my maternity to Start in the 29 September but I’m coming back on 27th September 2021 according to work if I’m taking 12 months off I’m so confused .

Spark27 · 04/07/2020 08:26

@Zaalfruit, that sounds right. 364 days from 29th Sept 2020 is 27th Sept 2021. Remember you'll be able to get child benefit which is £84.20 a month for the 1st child. And have a look to see if you're entitled to anything else.
I'm counting down til Jan 2021 when DD gets free nursery hours. £400 saving a month will be ace, until I then have to spend it on the next one Sad

Quiffy · 04/07/2020 08:48

@bluemoon2468 happy 27 weeks!

@LexiM That does seem a bit awkward to say about to your neighbour. Not fun get woken though!

Happy Saturday everyone, any fun plans? Got some more housesorting here this morning but excited for afternoon chill and we've ordered loads of sushi as a payday treat for tonight 😻😻

BntTowers · 04/07/2020 09:14

@Spark27 that seems to be a really useful link, thank you.

@lexiM glad your dad was feeling ok and is dealing with the changes happening. I'm sure he will get used to sleeping in a different room soon.
The neighbour thing sound weird, maybe ask where he was going at 5.30 am and it might make him realise how loud his little OCD door lock thing is. It does sound like OCD, in which case he won't be able to change it, but should be able to do it quieter.

@bluemoon2468 I'm the same at the moment. Can't seem to sleep for more than 1.5hours at a time. Fed up of being awake so much during the night. I do still love feeling the dance parties though, but would rather they were during the day when I'm awake rather than waking me up at 3am! Happy 27 weeks, nearly 3rd trimester.

We aren't doing too much this weekend a trip to the garden centre and some house sorting out. Mum might come round tomorrow depending on the weather, fed up of the rain at the weekend, it's ruined plans for a couple of weeks now. I've supposed to be seeing a friend and that's had to be postponed twice.

Zaalfruit · 04/07/2020 11:18

@Spark27 thank you for explaining x

Treacle81 · 04/07/2020 12:27

Afternoon girls, been off a few days as just felt rotten again, not sure if morning sickness or had a bug and also mentally a little down but feeling better today. I think working full time and then on a Sunday has just taken its toll. I’ll be taking a fortnight Annual Leave from the 18th Sept and then start mat leave on my DD - can’t wait! @bluemoon2468 happy 27 weeks 🥳. My little one was kicking like crazy this morning partner felt it and said he must be doing some ‘pad work’ 🤣 xx

Treaclepie19 · 04/07/2020 12:33

I've been feeling off too @Treacle81. Wonder if its a hormonal thing?

Been sorting the nursery a bit this morning. Clearing it ready for all her stuff to move in :)

Did someone on here say they'd bought a rainbow wall hanging linked to lockdown? One popped up on my Instagram and now I can't find it.

otterbaby · 04/07/2020 13:11

Gosh I feel rubbish again today. Not sure if itd the iron liquid playing havoc with my digestion or what but I feel sick, sluggish, stomachache and my ibs seems to be acting up.
Might try and get an early night if our 4yo sleeps early enough 😩

BettyBotter1 · 04/07/2020 17:46

Happy weekend everyone! I'm with you on the struggling to sleep, I can't get a solid night in and keep waking up in the middle of the night and then again at like 4am. This morning I went back to sleep about 8 and slept til 11 which felt great.

I'm planning to take maternity leave 2 weeks before due date, but currently able to work from home so if that changes I might bring it forward as I don't fancy going in for just a few weeks and so close to the end - not worth it and i imagine i will not feel like being so active by that point after being able to take it easy for so long.

We went for a little walk in the drizzle this afternoon to check out what our local pubs were doing and as it was quiet went in and had a drink and some proper pub chips - felt like such a treat.

I am getting weird prickly pains in the front of my belly today, like when you've been sat scrunched up for too long. Anyone else had those?

Loving looking at cute baby outfits others have been posting. I'm not buying anything as my friend has very kindly said I can have all of her little girl's things and she has more than a baby could possibly wear! I might give in to temptation at some point though and buy something cute. Husband has been looking at a website with ones with amusing slogans so that might become a purchase at some point. We're on the verge of ordering our travel system too which feels very exciting!

NWnature · 04/07/2020 21:12

@BettyBotter1 very jealous of the pub chips!!! Yum!

That’s awesome your friend has offered all her stuff. It’s so hard to try and suss out how much we will need!

I’m not sleeping well at the mo either - just can’t really get comfy. I’m a very jiggly sleeper I think so usually moving about front, back , side all night so finding being in one position so difficult.

I have another midwife appointment on Tuesday, I’ll be 26 weeks so not sure if it’s meant to be a 25 week or 28 week one. Since I moved hospitals I’m a bit out of kilter. I think they just intend to take my second bloods 😓 and maybe listen again on the Doppler. No pattern whatsoever to baby thus far and very often goes ages with no movement and then very muffled ones.

How has everyone else’s weekends been going?

Also very off topic but we are trying to choose flooring for our new bathrooms and kitchen /diner. The architect has suggested engineered wood for downstairs but I am leaning more towards porcelain tiles maybe a limestone like effect. Also any tips for new kitchens and bathroom suites? It’s all so overwhelming and I don’t want to get it wrong! Any tips welcomed and Sorry feel free to ignore as very off topic I know. X

NWnature · 04/07/2020 21:13

@BettyBotter1 also I haven’t had the prickly pains persay but I still sit all curled up even though the bump is getting quite big and I’m sure it’s not good for me! Get pins and needles quite a bit

MrsD1990 · 04/07/2020 21:15

27 weeks today for me too 😊 didn't do much today apart from my zoom prenatal exercise class and walking to the pharmacy to get my blood pressure taken, which was my homework from my 25 week phone appointment since they couldn't measure it then. Measured normal thankfully! At my 20 week appointment my pressure was raised but they took it before my scan and I was so scared and stressed about the scan - and wearing a mask which made it hard to breathe.

@BettyBotter1 I've not had those pains but you should ring the hospital to check - hopefully they'll be able to reassure you

MrsD1990 · 04/07/2020 21:17

@nwnature which hospital have you moved to? I'm at uclh

Indigogirl88 · 04/07/2020 21:19

I feel like I haven't had any proper exercise or yoga etc let alone any pelvic floors, I need to get myself sorted @mrsd1990

I also haven't had a blood pressure check since 20 week scan eeek

Turning 27 weeks in Tuesday and mil ha suggested I should get my bags packed now eek

NWnature · 04/07/2020 21:49

@MrsD1990 I’ve gone to St Mary’s now. The birth centre looks really lovely. The Royal Free was just a bit to big and clinical for me.

I’ve heard UCLH is great. My friend had a baby there in May x

Spark27 · 04/07/2020 21:54

@NWnature, hmmmm tricky one on the floor. Both probably have pros and cons. My concerns with the tiles would be if something dropped on them it would smash, and could chip tile? And they could be cold under foot. And would they potentially be slippy under foot? But then wood floor can also be slippy underfoot. Things might be less likely to definitely smash if dropped on a wood floor, but could chip the wood. Difficult decision.

My bump is very full and uncomfortable tonight, but I'm still feeling like I want to snack. Uncomfortable on the sofa late at night, but bored of going to bed too early.

MrsD1990 · 04/07/2020 22:00

@Indigogirl88 I'm not doing loads - don't have the energy!! Just try to do it on weekends - I'm not moving much at all because of lockdown. Also just got a birthing ball which hilariously takes up most of our flat. Would recommend - exercise that doesn't feel like exercise (until afterwards when I basically fall asleep I'm so tired)

@nwnature that's good to hear! I've had a really good experience with the people I've come into contact with at the hospital so far. Only issues I've had with them have been Covid related. Good on you switching hospitals because you found a nicer birth centre!! So important we feel comfortable where we'll be giving birth

BettyBotter1 · 04/07/2020 22:07

@NWnature we put in new kitchen and bathroom 5 years ago. We put travertine tiles on the kitchen floor and still love them. They have little holes so we chose the filled option and when they first go down you have to paint them with a sealer as they're porous, but haven't had to so that since. We wanted natural stone and they were more affordable than other options. In the bathroom we went for a dark grey polished porcelain tile. We also put underfloor heating in the bathroom which I can't recommend highly enough.

@indigogirl88 I am being so lazy about exercise. I got a pregnancy yoga app, it's good but have only done it twice Blush. Am getting increasingly stiff and need to develop some motivation asap.
