How sweet is that baby set, I keep looking at clothes but cant seem to decide what to buy and don't want to go mad! Especially when we are being given some lovely bits.

@Treacle81 I would definitely just write it in myself in a different hand writing, weird the midwife left it out but how is he going to know!

@Treaclepie19 writing a book - check you out! I would not have the focus for that right now. Hope your pain goes away, I'm still raving about how much the exercise ball has helped me when I feel discomfort at the moment, hope it continues to last.

@Zaalfruit glad you got your holiday in the end, are you doing anything nice tomorrow?

We have got two packs of wet wipes and then cotton pads for hospital. I have cheeky wipes and plan to use them all the time so didn't want to buy too many wipes but shall see how we go.

My Mum gifted us a lovely changing bag today, we were just going to get a rucksack but this is rucksack style anyway and has a few pockets without going crazy. I feel I would never find anything in those ones with tonnes of pockets!

Its my friends birthing this week and before lockdown she was in New Zealand for 6 months, going to see her in the garden this week and I'm so excited. We've got her an amazing M&S chocolate and caramel drip cake, which I should probably hide or it will be half eaten by the time we see her!

LexiM · 29/06/2020 15:01

Birthing... I mean birthday! I hate auto correct!!!

Treaclepie19 · 29/06/2020 15:09

@LexiM it's only a silly rom com but I thought it would help me distract from everything. I'm definitely going to blow my ball up. Hopefully it'll help!

Just been for a very windy rainy walk with ds. Eesh 😴

@Treaclepie19 I'm writing a fantasy novel! About half way through. If you ever need a beta reader we could do a swap?!

Treaclepie19 · 29/06/2020 16:02

That sounds great @CharlieBalf! I'd love to 😊
I only started yesterday so I'll be a while yet. I'm on about 7000 words.

@treaclepie19 check you out writing a book - I can’t even sit still for longer than 10 mins and my lack of concentration is so bad I get distracted !

@LexiM mouth is watering thinking of all that yummy food .
We are just going to go visits mamas and papas to see some car seats and buggies.

@CharlieBalf how are you so focused !! Well done on writing a book and half way !!

@BntTowers that is so adorable 🥰

Zaalfruit · 29/06/2020 16:30

Also does anyone have unbearable acid reflux my reflux stopped for a bit and now it’s back and it burns so much .

Treacle81 · 29/06/2020 16:44

@BntTowers aww love that wee outfit 😍 @Zaalfruit I have been downing Peptac by the bottle recently, defo next level if heartburn and reflux! @CharlieBalf and @Treaclepie19 good on you two, my father has also written a children’s book 🙌🏻 Hearing so much about this ‘second spike’ I’m going to Boots tomorrow to stock up on maternity pads, toiletries, breast pads, nappy sacks and nipple cream. I’ll get a packet of those water wipes for hospital bag but then hopefully Aldi sensitive will be ok. Planning on hitting Primark n a few weeks when it calms down for pjs and pants for hospital xx

NWnature · 29/06/2020 19:44

So impressed with @Treaclepie19 and @CharlieBalf ! I would love to have the patience and creativity. Your babies are lucky to have those genes !🍀

I have nothing in terms of paraphernalia- no room to store anything here so want to avoid til the last minute. Assume all the major stuff won’t sell out fingers crossed. I was wondering with water breaking if people use pads in their beds!!

LexiM · 29/06/2020 20:23

@nwnature I wasn't sure on the waters front but have been given some bed pads from boots for waters, which also mention for use in the car. I know not everyones waters break and some hardly at all but I can imagine if they do leak considerably it could ruin a mattress!

Now I've sorted more of the baby's storage I have room to start collecting bits for me. I have no idea on quantities of things!

@Treacle81 I am also planning the Primark trip, going to wait until I'm a bit further on and bigger to give some idea of what sizes to get.

@Zaalfruit enjoy your trip tomorrow, that's the exciting bits to choose!

LostinAusten2 · 29/06/2020 20:32

Hey, @BntTowers, that outfit is so cute 😍 And massivo respect to folk writing books, such a wonderful way to be productive in lockdown. Outside of work I’m achieving absolutely zilch 🥳

And on the acid reflux @Zaalfruit and @Treacle81 - I’ve been trying to prop myself up with pillows when sleeping as it’s do bad. My GP gave me omeprazole but with everything else going on inside I’m not sure another set of pills is the answer!

Treaclepie19 · 29/06/2020 20:41

Thanks everyone! I'm not saying I'm good at writing. I just enjoy it :)

I bought some bed pads too. With ds1 my waters did break first and they were useful for in the bed and in the car.

Spark27 · 29/06/2020 20:41

NWnature pads for the bed are good incase your waters go in bed. Or for the car seat on the way to hosp, etc. Waters dont always go in a big gush. Its can be a slow trickle for a while. You can get maternity specific ones, but puppy pads also work fine and can be cheaper. And then any left overs are good for when potty training!

CharlieBalf · 29/06/2020 21:05

@nwnature creativity possibly, organisation not so much 😂 I enjoy it, more of an outlet than anything serious.

Haven't though as far ahead as when waters break but as I'm a happy recluse I expect I'll be at home!

MummyBearBoo · 29/06/2020 22:18

Heartburn is awful I've been feeling sick and at coz of avid reflux and heartburn!!

I know this is going to seem like a silly question but it is possible for a baby to move too much? My DD didn't move nearly as much as this one I swear she's not been asleep for more than half an hour a few times today and has been kicking for like hours not just moving literally kicking and punching almost all day? She kept me up last night too!! She's not like this everyday sometimes she's a bit quieter but today it seems like she's hardly slept and she's been kicking hard almost all day!! Xx

Spark27 · 29/06/2020 22:49

@MummyBearBoo I'm afraid I cant help, but was just coming on to ask the same thing! My little ones been kicking off since about 1800. Feels like full body movements. Every time I think shes stopped she starts up again. A few days ago I was worried as to if she was moving enough and now I want her to calm down a bit. I'm going to keep an eye on it as this could be her new busy time of the day. If you're really concerned I'd suggest calling the maternity unit and asking their advice xx

MummyBearBoo · 30/06/2020 00:57

@Spark27 -I totally know what you mean she's dancing moving all over the place I thought she'd settled down but no - it doesn't matter how i lay/sit/stand she carries on and it's not like a bust period she's been like this all day!! She is normally active before and after breakfast, while I eat lunch then from 7pm-2am with a break in between but today has been like non-stop!! Even when I've been doing stuff when she normally sleeips she's been kicking!

Coz of heartburn making me feel sick I've bud been that active so that's probably part of the reason but I don't remember her stopping for longer than half an hour all day!

I expect she'll be tired tomorrow and be quieter but if not might give the MW a call!! Xxx

Treaclepie19 · 30/06/2020 02:55

Joining the acic reflux train 😩
Been awake with it for the past hour. It would really make sense to go downstairs and work out which is the newest gaviscon I bought but I've been hoping it'll just go away 🙄

Hope the lively babies give you some rest soon!

OP posts:
otterbaby · 30/06/2020 06:57

@MummyBearBoo I rang a week or two ago about increased movements because she wouldn't stop punching me for about 2 hours! I said it was unusual for her but they told me they don't worry about increased movements, sometimes they just have active periods. They did say I could come in if I wanted reassurance but I didn't bother and she settled down the next day.

Spark27 · 30/06/2020 07:00

Baby kept me awake until 0300ish, and then DD woke me up at 0600. They clearly both hate me. Fortunately it's a nursery day today so I'm planning on smashing out some housework this morning and then hopefully taking the afternoon to nap.

LexiM · 30/06/2020 07:40

My understanding is that they build a pattern of movements up to 32 weeks and therefore as they get bigger it's possible you will feel more between now and then. I've certainly noticed an increase and more kicks. I think if you get an increase in movements after 32 weeks you should speak to the midwife as that wouldn't be your normal pattern and might need checking.

I am so tired today, I try to be as upbeat as possible right now but I was just so sad last night and couldn't get to sleep until around 2. The doctors have confirmed my Dad's chemo isn't helping and his health has rapidly deteriorated over recent weeks. He is pretty much bed bound now, they are putting a hospital bed in his house this week and a carer will be coming. I'm relieved as it's the help he needs but it's just so hard and I find it difficult to keep my emotions in check anyway at the moment. When Coronavirus first happened I almost forgot his cancer could progress because I was just relieved he didn't have Corona and was safe at home, I know the reality is very different and it's hard when you cant go about your normal life or visit him without a mask.

I love coming on here as it takes my mind off things hearing about everyone's plans. I'm hoping to see my friend today which will be good.

Quiffy · 30/06/2020 08:19

@BntTowers if it goes back to lockdown I'm really counting on my parents being down. As dh doesn't drive and I'm not going to drive 30 mins in labour. Otherwise he might be using his sleeping bag outside 😹 sleeping bags in car is a great idea and I agree on packing light, I hate having loads of stuff.

@Indigogirl88 it's not too bad to fill in yourself. It was 18 pages or something but I only filled in about 6. The most confusing bit is the columns from the other table.

@Zaalfruit that's so annoying on your leave, stress that's unneeded!

@Treaclepie19 @CharlieBalf yay on books, that's awesome. Hope you managed to get sone sleep

@LexiM thinking of you lots with your dad, can't imagine all the feelings. Hopefully you can catch up with your friend today ❤️

@MummyBearBoo happy wedding anniversary ❤️

BntTowers · 30/06/2020 08:39

@LexiM it must be so hard to go through, especially at this time, thinking of you both. I hope you manage to catch up with your friend today.

Well my holiday still hasn't been approved, 3 weeks later... We have just had an email saying that WFH will stay until at least 31st August so it does look like I won't need to go into the office again as there will only be 3 weeks after then that I go on mat leave.

I have zero energy to be doing anything other than sitting on my ball/ the sofa after work at the moment so to all those writing books, a round of applause. I do need to start making a few Roman blinds, again hoping for holiday days to come through to do those.

LostinAusten2 · 30/06/2020 08:49

So sorry for your news @LexiM ❤️ Can't imagine having to cope with that on top of pregnancy and lockdown - hope you and family get the support you need x

Treacle81 · 30/06/2020 09:32

Morning girls! The last two mornings I’ve woken feeling (either really nauseous or really hungry) can’t decide which but it’s been at 5 am and have had to eat before I go back to sleep. Hope it’s not the start of something! Had bad heartburn run through the night also. @Lexi sorry to hear this, I hope you have a great time with your friend today and enjoy the cake! 😊 @MummyBearBoo I have also had increased movements, at times not quite sore but v uncomfortable. Had to have a bath again last night and that helps. Happy anniversary ❤️ I’m meeting my mother today, ca t wait to see her albeit a short while xx
