Thanks @bluemoon2468. I think I've gotten off pretty lightly so far thanks, some soreness in my back / tail bone since week 12, but nothing too dramatic. This is my first baby so no experience to compare it with!

babymama09 · 23/06/2020 20:49

Welcome to the group @Bettybotter1, they are an incredible bunch and very supportive congratulations on baby girl.
I owe a congratulations to @Indigogirl88 I heard you got engaged. Congrats hun xx

BecLJ · 23/06/2020 21:43

Welcome @BettyBotter1 I am also due 2nd October with a girl - my first baby too!

Spark27 · 23/06/2020 22:04

Great to hear from you @babymama09. Pleased to hear the drs seem to be engaging more and looking into possibilities. Let's hope baby stays put and growing as big as possible.
I hope you and the rest of your family are doing ok. Sending love xx

LexiM · 23/06/2020 22:09

@babymama09 I am pleased they are still looking into options for you. Fingers crossed baby stays put for as long as possible ❤

@BettyBotter1 welcome to the group, the more the merrier!

@quiffy hope tomorrow goes ok for you, it must be so hard when you feel rough. I need to find out when I will have my test.

Baby has been quiet on the kicks the last two days, he seems to lure me into thinking there is a pattern from increased movement for a couple of days then goes quiet again. I'm seeing the midwife tomorrow anyway. I went to home sense today, was so quiet but I am definitely waddling because my back hurts so much rather than because my bump is huge. I am tempted to see a chiropractor as I've read a few people found them so amazing when pregnant. Not sure whether it's better to go earlier though or wait until its unbearable!

Winterbobble · 23/06/2020 22:18

Hey everyone hope you are all getting on okay?

I can’t believe how quick the days are going and I am just counting down till I can finish work at end of august as I feel like I have just switched off.

I have also felt reduced movement today but she’s okay again now I am on my side in bed as that seems to wake her. Doesn’t help I was watching 24hrs in a&e and there was a story about a baby that sadly died in the womb at 9m! Has anyone else’s anxiety been slowly increasing as pregnancy progresses? I find I am always wondering and worrying about if everything is okay. I need to sleep.

Tomorrow is a new day though! Smile

Winterbobble · 23/06/2020 22:32

Sorry catching up congrats @Indigogirl88 what lovely news!! Smile

MummyBearBoo · 23/06/2020 22:47

Thanks @Zaalfruit might have to look for a space hopper thing fur DD knowing her she'll still probably want to use my birthing ball anyway but it's worth a try!!

Movement wise yesterday she kicked all morning, every time I sat down and kept me up with hard kicks til 2 after kicking since 10am-today not much a bit this morning a fair bit while I was eating dinner but I think she tired herself out yesterday!! 24 weeks and 2 days now!

Great to hear from you @babymama09 -hope your baby stays put and safe and the Drs are able to help her!!!

Welcome @BettyBotter1!

My DH said to me that I now look like I'm smuggling a busking ball which he is trying to insist was a compliment!!! Xx

MummyBearBoo · 23/06/2020 22:56

Also does anyone know when elective operations are starting again - I can sympathise @Treaclepie19 coz I am having issues with my vision i literally have no vision apart from a few blurry colours in my left eye move is due to my muscle condition tho not pregnancy and because I have multiple cataracts in that eye! I was hoping these operations were starting again soon I would really like to have two working eyes by the time baby I s due!!!xx

Indigogirl88 · 23/06/2020 23:53

Hi all, welcome @BettyBotter1 how has everything been going for you? I'm due 6th x

Thanks everyone!

Yes @winterbobble I'd say I'm getting anxious now as well as excited. One of my best friends sadly lost a baby full term, the heartache she went through I just cant even describe. I don't mean to be doom an gloom and overall I am excited but I'm also equally nervous.

Movement wise, been a little quieter last few days but I have had some movement, seems to be quieter on hot days

Has anyone been getting aching/painful bumps at all? Not sure what's been happening I think shes been growing but mine seems to be achy at the moment and a little painful

Quiffy · 24/06/2020 10:00

@BettyBotter1 welcome! Oct 5th here with a boy :)

@babymama09 glad they're supporting you more now.

@Winterbobble definite mix of anxious days and excited days!

@Indigogirl88 I get a sore bump for a few days every few weeks, usually goes hand in hand with being REALLY tired so think it could be a growth spurt session?

Survived my GD test. I stayed up late last night and had toast at 11pm and I think that helped not being sick this morning. After all the worry this morning was the least nasuseated I've felt in the morning for months - not sure if I was too focused or that the toast helped. Thinking about eating before bed more often now. If the test shows anything I'll here by tomorrow at 5pm... except I think I gave them the wrong mobile number. Baby brain gave me a blank.

Treaclepie19 · 24/06/2020 10:22

Morning all!

Welcome @BettyBotter1 :)

I am well and truly worn out. Yesterday I felt quite awake and I think I did too much. So far my 4yo has had a youtube morning 😩
Was hoping to get out for a walk before it got too hot but he's really not up for that suggestion.
Please tell me I'm not the only lazybones on here! 25 weeks today 😁

Zaalfruit · 24/06/2020 10:25

Welcome @BettyBotter1 first baby for me aswell ( baby girl)

@Indigogirl88 same so achy esp on my back and my sides when I am sleeping .

Has everyone been doing kegal exercises my sister in laws called me yesterday and said everyday you need to do it. Eek

Zaalfruit · 24/06/2020 10:28

@Quiffy so glad you managed to survive it . Fingers crossed everything is alright .

My George delivery and maternity leggings are coming today .

I am a bridesmaid on the 29th of July my clothes are arriving today I am so worried that I will look so fat and frumpy - when we were ordering my sister ordered her dress in a size 6 I felt so jealous 🤪

Spark27 · 24/06/2020 11:09

@Zaalfruit I do them when people/things remind me to. So thanks for the reminder. I cant remember doing them lots during my first pregnancy. I think I tried to do them when sat at my desk, but now I'm not I'm work and seem to get no free time I just forget. Must try and remember. I was find after the first pregnancy (obvs after the first few months once everything calmed down), so ideally dont want any problems after this one.

@Treaclepie19 I so cannot be bothered. 26+2 and I'm big, hot and bothered. Got a few hours out playing in the garden this morning, but letting DD have her tablet now as that keeps her inside, and it's just too hot. Getting up to 31c today. I cant cope.

Booked to go to a Zoo next wednesday. Hopefully it a fair bit cooler

Quiffy · 24/06/2020 12:40

@Zaalfruit I havent started kegal, but I did start reading the NHS ready steady baby book and it says we should be starting now and doing it at least once a day wah. Also just introduced myself to the idea of tears, think I'm ignorant to labour tbh. Excited for your George delivery!

@Spark27 ahh zoo trip sounds amazing!

@Treacle81 hope you can get some rest in!

Spark27 · 24/06/2020 13:07

Haha, in my birth plan last time @Quiffy I wrote 'I'd rather be cut than left to tear'. What a horrible line to have to write about yourself. But I stand by it. Easier/neater to stitch and heal usually

Indigogirl88 · 24/06/2020 13:24

@quiffy I've got my gtt on the 14th July so thanks for the tip!

Yeah bee feeling so tired as well so I think it's a growth spurt, shes been doing all sorts of somersaults today.

Got Friday off work so looking forward to a chilled long weekend Grin

MummyBearBoo · 24/06/2020 13:31

I was cut last time so didn't tear and it healed really well so putting that in my birth plan this time! Xx

Treacle81 · 24/06/2020 13:40

Hi girls! Back to working out and feeling good for it 💪🏻 I have heard and been told the opposite. A tear heals quicker and they would rather that. I had episiotomy with my first and it was an awful experience, took months to heal and still have trouble with scar tissue during intercourse at times xx

BntTowers · 24/06/2020 14:23

I've heard that a tear heals quicker than a cut as well, but I don't have experience of either! I think it's something to do with the way the skin stretches.

@Quiffy I'm glad you managed to get to the hospital ok this morning. I've started having a tiny bowl of cereal on an even as otherwise I wake up or can't get to sleep because I'm so hungry at about midnight.

@Spark27 a zoo trip sounds so good.

@BettyBotter1 welcome, it's my first as well but we are waiting to find out of baby is a boy or girl.

@babymama09 it's good to hear from you, I'm glad you are being seen to better now. I hope baby stays in for as long as possible.

I've been told that my holidays depend on lots of other people's... I'm fed up, any day that I'm feeling the slightest bit ill I'm going to call in sick I think. My back is hurting so much this afternoon I will see how I feel about having to sit on a dining chair all day tomorrow to WFH... I also feel like I need to take the fan everywhere I go today, it's far too hot.

Quiffy · 24/06/2020 14:33

@BntTowers your work are beyond ridiculous. Does that mean other people are getting priority first? It's surely easier to have someone off one day a week than taking a big block of two. Defo call in sick as much as you need.

Wah the tearing/cutting is scary. I thought the c-section was the scary option ha. And I've seen DH's massive headed baby photos. Did any of you use that Spritz for Bitz last time? Seen some great reviews for it.

BntTowers · 24/06/2020 14:40

@Quiffy oh I have no idea, there's a team of 5 of us, but I do a different role to the other 4 so even if I'm off it's not like it would affect the day to day running of the team much. I think someone else has put in for their 2 week break (after I've requested these odd days) and someone is coming back from maternity and they want to tie in their back to work days with me somehow. Apparently this all needs to be discussed at a manager's meeting rather than just decided. I've had enough.

I've seen the spritz for bits I might get some. I have some perineal oil but it feel a bit all too real to start using that. I think it says to use after 30 weeks.

babymama09 · 24/06/2020 14:41

Hi girls thanks for all the posts, baby is very active and hasn't stopped wriggling we have nicknamed her wriggles and ladybug 🐞. She is growing to the right rate for the gestation of pregnancy which is good and the midwife is coming to me on Friday to check the heart beat. I am hitting what I call the danger zone now as this is when I went in to labour with my youngest hydropic daughter hannah in 09. But with her my water had broke and I had started to bleed randomly. I am very scared but also reassured that she is moving around so much. How r u all doing? X

babymama09 · 24/06/2020 14:42

Can't remember who post about pains in stomach but I get them on my left side or at the top, I think it is just stretching pain. Anyone had braxton hicks yet? They are like false Labour pains and are infrequent and very annoying
