@Zaalfruit cant beat asda for good baby bits aparently they wash up well as well. I got that cardigan so cute!

Quiffy · 22/06/2020 09:23

@Indigogirl88 I have the Sleepyhead, I think my plan is to use it in my living room for supervised naps and for tummy time, which both seem to be absolutely fine. If you're worried could you return it to save money?

@Zaalfruit they look like super cute purchases! I've not checked out the baby clothes in George but I've always liked their leggings and they seem to last.

@LostinAusten2 That's been my problem, I've felt him kick on the outside for a fortnight but he'd stop as soon as DH put a hand on. I'm not sure if yesterday was luck or due to me constantly putting my hand where he's kicking so he thinks it's me. Dh felt two kicks then baby moved from kicking above belly button to way down low away from him hehe.

bluemoon2468 · 22/06/2020 09:29

I was planning on buying a sleepyhead but after reading about safe sleeping guidelines have decided against it. Loads of people use them and love them though, I'm just an overly cautious person by nature and feel like I need to play by the rules 100%!

Treacle81 · 22/06/2020 10:47

@Quiffy same happens with me, use it to my advantage now and I actually place my partners hand on my bump and baby instantly stops kicking, so I can sleep 🤣 xx

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 22/06/2020 10:48

@Indigogirl88 congratulations that's amazing news ❤️❤️

MummyBearBoo · 22/06/2020 10:55

awww how lovely congratulations @Indigogirl88!!

I'm sure maternity units are going to be really busy in October as we all got pregnant before we knew about Covid and apparently birth rates have fallen since then as many want to wait til some kind of normality resumes!! Xxx

MummyBearBoo · 22/06/2020 10:59

I'm a bit unsure about the sleepy head too a friend of mine loved it tho her baby still woke up a lot but I can't see how it is compatible with safe sleeping guidelines!! Xx

Zaalfruit · 22/06/2020 11:45

Lol I find when my husband talks really loud the baby kicks more it’s like his voice wakes her up but she hides the moment he touches my stomach . Feel so bad for him poor sod. 😂

I wouldn’t worry too much about the sleepy head as long as you supervise a baby all will be fine - my sister in laws swear by it . I am
Not getting one only because my parents have gifted me a Moses basket .

LexiM · 22/06/2020 11:46

@Indigogirl88 huge congratulations! How exciting 😀

@Quiffy so lovely your husband has felt the baby kick, it's definitely helpful for Dads right now to have that bonding over the kicks.

I've thought about a sleepy head and decided not to get one. The information on them is so mixed plus I'm worried if baby sleeps happily during the day then maybe won't at night if it's different. Who knows!

I tested our bedside crib attached to the bed yesterday, I presume I will have to crawl half way down the bed to get out unless I unattached it each time which I wont. I'm sure I will get used to it.

I've spent so much money this month on larger items, literally counting down to pay day now!!

Indigogirl88 · 22/06/2020 12:39

@LexiM I'm the same just waiting for payday but also same about the crib, thinking I'll have to crawl down the bed 😂

Zaalfruit · 22/06/2020 12:40

I have three pays left and then Baby will be here I get paid on the 21st ... ahh that feels scary .

Treacle81 · 22/06/2020 13:17

@Zaalfruit ditto!! That is v scary to think of!! 😳xx

Buzz22 · 22/06/2020 13:36

Massive congratulations @Indigogirl88 💜

DP has felt baby moving since the day I first realised it was baby moving! She does seem to stop when he puts his hand there, but hes has definitely felt a good few prods and pokes each evening.

Still suffering badly with heartburn. To the point it's making me sick some evenings. The medication from GP doesnt seem to help at all unfortunately.
When does everyone next see the midwife again?

Indigogirl88 · 22/06/2020 14:56

Ahhhh ditto @Zaalfruit

Cant concentrate today, still on newly engaged high 😂😂

Baby girl keeps doing strange rolling but moving so all good

And our rocker came today exciting Grin

Indigogirl88 · 22/06/2020 14:57

@Buzz22 so far luckily, touch wood I've not had too bad heartburn, I feel it wont be long though as getting stomach pains everytime I eat big meals

Zaalfruit · 22/06/2020 15:04

@Buzz22 I suffer from really bad heart burn - I have cut out so much food to avoid the triggers . ( chocolate is worth it thou ) my stomach makes loud noises - so
Glad wfh. Things like salad triggers me - have you been able to Identify any triggers .

My hunger has gone up by 100 percent all ie want to do is eat. Anyone else or just me - I am going to be so fat by the end of this I can’t stop with the crisps.

LexiM · 22/06/2020 15:20

@zaalfruit my hunger has definitely gone up in the last week or so. Making me paranoid I'm eating too much. I'm still not really into any specific foods and just want to graze which is dangerous overeating territory 😂

@Buzz22 I'm seeing the midwife on Wednesday for 24 week appointment which I think lots of you have had. Then will next be at 28 weeks.

I'm feeling warm today, and I know this is only the start of the heat for this week. Was planning on sorting garden bits today but just can't due to that mixed with my back hurting today. Just going with the flow and seeing how I feel.

blankiesandunicorns · 22/06/2020 16:28

Iv been getting lots of kicks both really low down or at my bladder and quite uncomfortable. Anyone else having this? Don't remember it this bad with my first

MummyBearBoo · 22/06/2020 17:02

My DH felt her kick the first time I did at 17w tho I had felt her move before that but she did seem to stop when he put his hand on my tummy but the other night I asked if he wanted to feel her kick coz she is kicking hard now and was kicking loads and he was like what's she doing in there she's having a right dance she was kicking loads all over the place!!
He can also see her kicking now as she moves my whole tummy think it's coz my placenta is at back!
Just finished the housework and sat down with some fruit and she's kicking now even tho I'm sat she's started kicking a lot more in the day usually in my side and a lot higher up than my belly button!
I'm 24w +1 now - glad to be past 24w mark next consultant appt 7th next mw appt on 20th July! Xx

Treaclepie19 · 22/06/2020 17:20

I'm eating a lot now too. Also putting on weight 😔
Yes to the low down bladder kicks, flipping painful!

Currently awaiting a phone call from triage because I've been having some problems with my vision.
Little bit fed up with medical things at the moment. It's such a pain to get anything sorted.

Nice to know I'm not the only one @Treaclepie19 but yes very uncomfortable and suppose ok thinking it's gonna get a lot worse!

blankiesandunicorns · 22/06/2020 18:26

I'm thinking it's going to get a lot worse was meant to say

Treacle81 · 22/06/2020 18:33

Thank goodness it’s not just me, I am always wanting food! Craving cake constantly 🙈 my kicks seem to be higher, level with belly button and at time right at the side but nothing low. Defo feeling more movement now, used to only be morning and night, now it’s throughout day too xx

BntTowers · 22/06/2020 19:20

I sometimes get kicks low, I find during the day when I'm sat working they feel low and in an evening a bit higher towards my belly button. I always say that we are having a dance party when baby starts to move a lot.
I seem to be constantly hungry at the moment. Would love some carrot cake, but again don't really have anything sweet in the house. Fed up of having salad for lunch, not really cutting it at the moment. Also fed up with DH just doing the food shop, I want some treats and he never gets anything good.

LexiM · 22/06/2020 20:49

@Treaclepie19 hope everything is ok for you x

I am feeling so sorry for myself, I am so uncomfortable tonight. My back is awful and my stomach feels like its stretching a lot tonight. My husband just said but aren't you nearly as big as you will get, he really has no idea 😂
