@Bubbabee @Carabu1 Thanks for the good luck wishes and for asking after me! Yesterday had the first of three mini announcements over the weekend, and it was with friends from uni that me and DH are still close with.

It went really well! But it was also kinda hilarious. It was a virtual gathering and not everyone had their cameras on. We waited till an appropriate lull in the conversation when everyone was there (or so we thought) to come out with it, and two friends reacted in just a lovely way, but the other two present were weirdly silent. Then a moment later one was suddenly like "okay I'm back, did I miss anything?"... Turns out he'd gone to put food in the oven and hadn't mentioned it! Of course he reacted very sweetly when we told him again, but the fourth friend was still quiet. There was a long pause, then he piped up on the topic we'd been talking about before, seemingly not acknowledging the announcement at all. I felt a bit confused and hurt but there was nothing for it but to leave it and move on.

Then about an hour later a fifth friend who'd said he didn't think he could make the gathering but would catch the end if he could showed up, so we told him too, and fourth friend was suddenly like "what why didn't you tell me earlier!?" Turned out he'd temporarily muted the gathering during the first announcement because his mum had rung 😁

So all in all not a textbook announcement by any means, but I loved it and felt very loved. Family today!

Hope everyone's feeling as well as possible xx

@MeganC104 my tummy was definitely sticking out more by 11 weeks. Whether it's baby or just bloating I don't know, but it's exciting! 12+3 today.

MissHoney85 · 28/06/2020 07:58

@MeganC104 I'm 11 weeks too and no bump yet but my waist has definitely started to thicken. I think it's a combination of baby, weight gain and bloat! Noticeable enough for me to have to undo the top button on my jeans though.

9 days until my 12 week scan and I'm getting nervous about it. We had a private scan on Tuesday and now I feel reassured that baby is there, but now I'm worrying about the screening. I guess there's always something to worry about 🤦‍♀️ OH and I have talked a couple of times about what we'd do if there's a problem and we have quite different views. There was a nasal bone on the 10 week scan so hopefully that's a good start... Such an anxious time!

MayBug2020 · 28/06/2020 08:00

@CoalCraft so happy for you that it went well and you told them all in the end :) I am sure today with family will go just as well if not better! Xx

I have my midwife appointment today for blood and feeling a bit nervous on how it’s going to go and the results. It’s one thing to worry about after another! Does anyone know how long the results take to come back? Xx

Boof87 · 28/06/2020 09:06

Morning all, I had a private scan at 8+5 and I'm now 9+2 and all was well. It was so lovely and reassuring to see the little heartbeat and my OH was able to see it with me for the first time. 3 weeks tomorrow to wait until my 12 week scan and he wont be able to attend that one. Hopefully it will go quick!

@maybug2020 I had my bloods done at my first midwife appointment last week and she didnt mention how long they would take to come back, I wonder if it will find out at my 12 week scan?

Is anyone from London and had theirs scans at Kings before?

Baba11 · 28/06/2020 10:25

Morning all. I am officially 12 weeks today but instead of being excited, I am really scared.. I can't stop thinking about a mmc. My scan is in 5days and I'm so worried at the scan they will find nothing. I can't stop thinking about it. My symptoms have disappeared and that also worries me. Help!

Lollipop93 · 28/06/2020 10:36

@Baba11 I am in the exact same position. Only I am 10+5, my symptoms have died down and I’m just terrified of not knowing what’s going on in there and have another 11 days until the scan. I’m so impatient I’m surprised I didn’t go for an early scan. I keep on getting thoughts like maybe I’ve just missed periods doesn’t mean I’m really pregnant and I just had like symptoms from a chemical and convinced nothing is going to be there.

MayBug2020 · 28/06/2020 10:45

@Baba11 @Lollipop93 I am the same - I have seen the little bean and heartbeat at 6+2 but nothing since and I have 10 days until my 12 week scan and so worried xx

MissHoney85 · 28/06/2020 11:30

@Baba11 @MayBug2020 @Lollipop93 try not to worry too much! It's so hard not to I know. Even if you've had a scan relatively recently like me, the worry just transfers to something else - now I'm stressing about the genetic screening tests! I guess that's just the story of pregnancy / parenthood - constant anxiety 😂

Boof87 · 28/06/2020 12:04

Ladies I'm sure everything is fine. Stressing about it is only going to make you unwell so try and distract yourself as much as possible. Easier said than done I know! Be healthy, stay active, dont stress and that's all you can do. It's out of our hands as I think as soon as that hit home with me that there literally is nothing I can do to stop anything sadly from happening I relaxed a bit more. Obvs I was anxious at my scan but i tried to stay positive but also realistic.

I'm sure all is good and the little peanuts are all wriggling away :-)

Lollipop93 · 28/06/2020 12:27

Thanks so much guys. You are so right there’s nothing I Can do but only try to relax! I love this forum. Thank you everyone for being there.

Carabu1 · 28/06/2020 13:48

@Baba11 don’t stress about the symptoms! I’ve had none at all so far (13+5 now) and my 12 week scan was absolutely fine. I had got myself in a real tizz about mmc but in the event I’m just clearly someone who doesn’t have symptoms! Now stressing about the absence of bump - so id it’s not one thing its another! I’m sure all will be well c

Baba11 · 28/06/2020 15:11

Thanks ladies. I hope I'm just stressing for no reason

Baba11 · 28/06/2020 16:16

Thanks ladies. I hope I'm just stressing for no reason. You are right there is always something to worry about.

CoalCraft · 28/06/2020 16:38

Well second announcement went well, whatever was I worrying for?! Grin Only two more to go, and I'm really looking forward to both (DH's family and my longest and dearest friend)

MayBug2020 · 28/06/2020 16:46

Thank you ladies. You are right, there isn’t anything we can do so need to relax - or try to xx

Bubbabee · 28/06/2020 19:16

@CoalCraft awww perfect 😍

@MissHoney85 that's me I'm worrying about the screening tests now just as much as my baby haha.

CoalCraft · 29/06/2020 06:55

12+4 today, time goes so very slowly hey? Feeling quite impatient about everything today.

Otherwise I'm well today apart from the usual sore boobs, I also seem to slightly pull something every time I move, which I guess is those floppy tendons Grin

Hope everyone's doing okay x

Newbee123 · 29/06/2020 07:25

Good morning ladies, woke up feeling so rubbish today called in sick for work. Feeling emotional overwhelmed worrying about the future if I can cope etc just a big mess 🥺. How's everyone doing ?

MayBug2020 · 29/06/2020 07:41

@Newbee123 sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish today. I think I can speak for a lot of us on this forum and say we have all had days like that - questioning how we will cope, feeling sick, tired and emotional. It’s all normal and you are allowed to feel like that so allow yourself this day to this rest and relax :)

@Bubbabee this maybe a silly question but when you talk about screening tests are you referring to the bloods they take? I had mine done yesterday and worried what will come back x

Newbee123 · 29/06/2020 08:02

@MayBug2020 thank you 😊 I needed to hear that hope you are well x

mummasoph · 29/06/2020 09:40

Hey girls.

Anyone else suffering with really bad breakouts? I've never had so many spots, usually I have such good skin and although I did get spots with my first pregnancy it was nothing like this. Making me feel very shit about myself and self conscious :( I don't know what I can do to help them as I have a skincare routine usually anyway but nothing seems to be helping!

CoalCraft · 29/06/2020 09:48

@mummasoph so far I've only had a few spots but am expecting it to get worse as I had terrible skin as a teen and my sister suffered from acne in the second and third trimesters of both her pregnancies.

Sorry no advice really, just I remember now much it sucks xx

Lollipop93 · 29/06/2020 11:29

I was prescribed a tube card zindaclin a couple of years ago for a breakout and it was amazing.

Lollipop93 · 29/06/2020 11:29

IshaPoet · 29/06/2020 11:45

Morning Ladies.

Sorry I've been quiet the last few days, just been dealing with a lot and had a uncle pass away from coronavirus so it's taking a toll on me and my family really bad since we can't be there for his funeral.
So we had to have a virtual one which was beautiful but still not great.

My symptoms seem to be increasing and my belly has started to pop out- I don't know if it's bcos of my previous pregnancies that I've started to show so early but hey it's out there on display now so it's harder to hide.
TMI but my boobs are so sore and my tummy has started to itch a little been rubbing coconut oil which seems to calm it down but at night it's the worst and this heat isn't helping.

I'm now 9+3 and have 3 weeks till my 12 and abit weeks scan. Not really panicking about the SS anymore as I've been doing all the necessary things to keep myself and baby happy and healthy. ❤️💜💙
