@Lollipop93 I'll be having my first scan in 2 weeks when I'll be 12+4.

My nausea is better but insomnia and exhaustion continues. Hot nights dont help either. The joys!

IshaPoet · 24/06/2020 10:27

@blueskiesandapples I still haven't had mine yet 🙁 my midwife should've called yesterday but I guess she's been busy.
Just hope to call before my scan next month lol a bit silly but I don't get how it's takes a whole month to do a booking appointment when I called at the beginning of the month and still haven't heard anything. It's making me worry about my hospital choice. Might ask if they can transfer me over to a different one.
Hopefully they remember me.

IshaPoet · 24/06/2020 13:07

So I had my booking appointment which was one of the most emotional things I've done today. Had to explain past pregnancy and labour for my son and twin girls. And I've been told I am high risk bcos of the bleeds and retained placenta I had with my twins. So I'm going to be meeting a specialist and having more regular scans and appointments with my mw and consultant.

There goes my water birth plan right out the window but we'll see how it goes.

Lollipop93 · 24/06/2020 13:13

@IshaPoet aww it is so emotional going over it all again :( it is nice on a way to speak to someone though. I think I’m high risk too coz my previous birth I lost a litre of blood and needed two blood transfusions tbh I don’t know if I want to go through the trauma of a vaginal birth again and I’m thinking about c-section. Never thought I would say that.

IshaPoet · 24/06/2020 13:18

@Lollipop93 same with me I lost 4 litres with my first and they left some of the placenta in on my twin pregnancy so I had to have a d&c and blood transfusion. Honestly if I have to pick I would want one too but I don't think I could handle the pain after and the not lifting anything for 6 weeks

Lollipop93 · 24/06/2020 13:38

@IshaPoet god :( so scary isn’t it. It’s good to know u didn’t have a big bleed the next time maybe they could do something to stop that happening to me? I know c-section def not easiest option coz of the recovery time. But at least it’s over and done with and no long labour/unknown of whats going to happen. Will need to discuss with midwife but wish someone could just decide for me hahaha

Wineandrun · 24/06/2020 16:00

So I went for a scan today and all was well, saw a little blob with a heart beat, measuring 9 weeks which is a couple of days more than I thought. Hoping that my morning sickness will peak any day and I’ll come back down the other side! I feel like a different person though just knowing all is ok, my husband cane with me so it’s all feeling real, we’ve even started researching 7 seater cars 😂

So I had my booking scan today! I was scared going in in case there was bad news but actually everything was fine. Baby was measured at 11+6, so two days on from where I'd thought based on previous scans, but early scans can be quite inaccurate, can't they? Anyway, this gives me an edd of 7th Jan!Due to baby's position it wasn't possible to take an nt measurement (sonographer did his absolute best too, to be fair had me doing all sorts of funny dances and did lots of jostling and poking that was not comfortable on my full bladder!!) so I have a 16 week appointment with midwife for the quad test.

January 2021 due date- bus 3!
MissHoney85 · 24/06/2020 17:19

@CoalCraft beautiful scan pic, congratulations!

Sazzy312 · 24/06/2020 17:46

StephS1984 · 24/06/2020 18:24

@CoalCraft that’s a lovely scan photo. What’s the quad test ? Is it instead of the scan of neck fluid thing for Down’s syndrome and the other ones? Do you know how it is done? I have my nhs scan the end of next week and really looking forward to it. 😀

Bubbabee · 24/06/2020 18:26

Hi all had my nhs dating scan today and I was 2 days behind my private one last week so I'm 12weeks today due date 6th Jan. baby was being a monkey and turned away haha. Managed to get measurements that were needed. ❤️..
Congratulations on all the lovely scans today. Hope all you ladies are ok xx

CoalCraft · 24/06/2020 18:32

@StephS1984 Yes the quad test is instead of the combined test that you're referred for if baby's position means a nuchal translucency measurement can't be done. It is a blood test where they check the levels of a range compounds and from that they calculate a risk ratio. It only tests for Down's though, not Patau's or Edward's like the combined test.

BabyG123 · 24/06/2020 19:49

@IshaPoet I had a section last time and I have to say pain after wasn't too bad for me. I only had paracetamol and ibuprofen. The lifting thing isn't so fun and I also ended with a infection which is common but it's not as bad as you'd imagine

I'm just scared in general. Honestly my whole being is terrified of what is going to happen

MayBug2020 · 24/06/2020 20:46

Lovely scan pictures ladies! Can’t wait to have mine but also super nervous. Got my bloods on Sunday - silly question but do you have to take a urine sample with you or do it there? X

Skyla01 · 25/06/2020 10:45

So nice to see scan photos! Hopefully I'll be able to post a nice healthy pic of my own in 2 weeks! Must be such a relief to see that all is ok.

Sazzy312 · 25/06/2020 10:49

@MayBug2020 they gave me a pot to do my urine sample when I got there, this is my longest pregnancy so feel super blessed ❤ does anyone live near bristol?

Bubbabee · 25/06/2020 21:04

Is there a new thread or is everyone just a busy bee today xx

TerribleImagination · 25/06/2020 21:06

I thought the same thing! It’s gone super quiet! Maybe everyone’s been enjoying their sunny days 🥰

Lollipop93 · 25/06/2020 21:13

Very quiet! My update is my fan is my new best friend haha!

Lexonby · 25/06/2020 21:56

Hi guys

I had a really shitty morning today. Tried epu who refused giving me a scan so ended up booking a same day private scan cause was so worried but everything is fine, baby is measuring spot on for dates! 4 weeks until my nhs scan and tomorrow I have my first midwife appointment (over the phone). Super relieved and hoping the next 4 weeks fly by xx

Pinkpaintlover · 25/06/2020 21:57

I have just had confirmation my scan isn’t until I’m 13+5. Talk about making me wait! Hopefully will still be fine to do the tests. 12 days to go 🤪

StephS1984 · 25/06/2020 22:00

It has been supper hot. I braved going out today to a lovely garden and I found lots of shade to rest in. Felt good that I actually had some energy.

Now feel tired, was falling asleep when watching tv, fingers crossed my nausea is ok tomorrow
